Chapter 142 The Hit That Shook The Earth

?

Selania, like Zayne, was at her limit, but she still had an enormous amount of energy that she was going to use. Blue streams were accumulating around her, heading toward the tip of her sword and filling it with power.

Zayne's situation was different, his body was at its absolute limit, and he could only fight because of the strange power within, but he still had something.

Whooooooooooooooosh.

Zayne's ring sparkled as a blue orb filled with mana appeared in his hand. It was the only thing he got from the Royal Knight.

'If I win, it will only be through the sacrifice and help of these two... the ones she sacrificed for her goal... Well, that's as sad as it is ironic.' Zayne inwardly muttered with a deep gaze as he crushed the orb, releasing outward streams of mana.

At the same moment, the runes on Zayne's sword glowed brightly, letting out white electric sparks, all the energy from the orb went to fuel the sword, as well as all of Zayne's mana.

"Hah, you think a few lightning bolts can defeat me? It'll be enough for a few burns at most, nothing more." Selania smirked, clutching the hilt of her sword confidently.

Zayne shook his head, "No, it's a little more complicated than that. Before, once, I bet everything on one attack, but now the stakes are much higher. Maybe you're spoiled with power, but Fate Power will definitely help me now."

Selania's eyes went wide when a white coin with a sword mark appeared in Zayne's hands. He tossed it up as the coin turned into a blue flash, rushing toward him.

Nothing happened for a while until a flash passed among Zayne's eyes, then a blue ripple passed through the night sky, drawing in the clouds with thunder rumbling inside.

Selania shuddered, she had not yet seen what Zayne's sword was capable of, but her instincts literally screamed that it was deadly.

"I'm sorry..." Zayne muttered, looking at his sword as if he was saying farewell to it, "But I just don't have any other choice."

Whoooooooooooooooosh.

Zayne jumped high, with his sword held high and his eyes cold as ice. Dozens of lightning bolts burst from the clouds, heading for his sword. The power of the Thunderous Execution depended on the energy absorbed, so Zayne made sure his final strike was as mighty as possible.

Selania got goosebumps, something she hadn't experienced even before the final monster of the Tier Three Chaos Hearth, it was a force capable of splitting her into atoms.

'There's no going back anyway... it's now or never!' Selania inwardly exclaimed before she lunged forward, swinging her sword.

The massive blue blade collided with the white thunderbolt, then the world seemed to freeze for a moment with a powerful white flash.

...

A few seconds before the flash.

People from nearby villages and towns noticed the clouds gathering over the same place. Some of them were Players.

"What is it...?" The old man muttered with a confused expression, "Is... Chaos making its move again...?"

A young man, with a bloodied sword, stood among dozens of wolves, with a silver cross bracelet on his arm. He slicked his hair back and smirked, "Hehehe, looks like something interesting, though rather dangerous is going on there. Good thing I turned those three idiots down. My intuition has never failed me before."

Within seconds this event attracted many stares, then they all had to turn away because of the bright flash that seemed to go all over the world.

...

The collision between the blade and the thunderbolt rippled through the air as hundreds of crystals against the walls cracked and shattered into small pieces simultaneously. Powerful wind currents left scratches on their faces, while their final attacks tried to overwhelm each other.

White lightning fluttered aside as well as blue shreds of energy, torn by the force of the thunder.

"No..." Selania muttered in disbelief as she watched her blade grow smaller, "That's impossible... I used the power of three Fate Coins!"

Selania couldn't accept that her faith was helpless, but none of that mattered anymore, since thunderbolt completely destroyed the energy blade and collapsed on her.

Selania's silhouette was torn into many pieces under the destructive force of the thunderbolt, part by part, until it completely disappeared, fading from this world.

Tap.

Zayne landed on the ground, walked over to the black spot, and muttered, "It seems Fate doesn't really care about the lives of both the commoners and its followers... Otherwise, it would have helped either those knights or you... but... you all died in horrible ways..."

Crackle. Crackle. Crackle.

Cracks went through Zayne's sword as it shattered into small fragments, crumbling at his feet with a thud.

"Agh... Another one... I'm a damn bad owner... None of my swords lasted even a week..." Zayne shook his head with sincere sadness in his voice.

[You have been given the title - Sword Breaker.]

[Sword Breaker

Any blacksmith would have a heart attack from the way you use your swords since you've already broken two of them, but the great warriors would praise you for your dedication or even savagery.

The durability of your future swords is reduced by 10%, damage is increased by 5%!]

"What...? Is this some kind of mockery?" Zayne frowned, gripping the hilt of his sword tightly, "Fuck! I don't want to have a Title like that, how can I refuse it?"

Zayne took a deep breath, then his gaze grew deeper, and he leaned toward the black spot.

"Maybe you don't deserve it, but our battle is worth staying in history, so... I'll leave it here..." Zayne muttered in a deep voice as he thrust what was left of his sword into the ground and turned around.

Unlike last time, there were still no messages in front of Zayne, but he knew what the reason was.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

Above the altar that had captivated Selania for so long now hovered a massive blue moon-shaped sphere, with his ring at its center, as if waiting for its owner to take it back.
