Chapter 187 Special Death

Chapter 187 Special Death

?

Karin stared at Zayne for a while, with her arms crossed across her chest, then she asked, "Where did you get this skill?"

Zayne tilted his head in confusion, "What exactly are you talking about? I have quite a few skills already."

Karin sighed, "The ice cross, that skill with which you defeated that spider. It's definitely not a normal skill, no one can teach it, just like you can't create one."

Zayne nodded; he understood what Karin wanted to hear from him and was willing to satisfy her curiosity.

"I defeated Apostle, that's the skill I had after the battle. That it is." Zayne spoke confidently as his gaze grew cold.

Karin looked at him thoughtfully before asking, "What was that Apostle? For your information, only a few Apostles have been to the Lax River Region in the last few years."

"His name was... Enar, or rather, Enar, Flame of the Sorrow." Zayne said calmly, and there was pride in his voice that he had fought such a strong opponent, which made him experience real fear and become so much better.

Karin's eyes went wide as her assumption was confirmed even though she didn't believe it until the very end.

"Oh... You seem surprised, so I'm proud to have won for a reason, even though it was damn hard..." Zayne muttered, shaking his head.

"Wait... That's impossible..." Karin sighed as a chill ran down her spine.

"Hmm? What do you mean?" Zayne tilted his head with a frown, "I'm not fooling you. After a hard fight, he died right in my arms!"

"Shut up!" Karin exclaimed as her scream echoed through the cave, bouncing off the cold stone walls, "This can't be happening! You have no idea how strong Enar is!"

Zayne flinched as he took a step back, he hadn't expected such a reaction.

"Look..." Karin took a deep breath as she put her palm to her chest, "Even if I fought against Enar, I would lose 1,000 battles out of 1,000. I would have exactly zero chance of winning, he's not an opponent I could stand up to."

Zayne scratched the back of his head, "Well... It's all rather strange, but how strong are you in that case?"

Karin smirked, "Hah, did you really think I was weaker than you? Is it just me or are you overestimating your abilities?"

Zayne shook his head, "I'm not trying to insult you, I just want to understand what's going on here too. If Enar is stronger than you, then why was I able to beat him? Don't you think this is all a little too weird?"

Karin nodded deeply, "I know what you mean. Well, about your question. You were supposed to meet Solomon and Klaus, weren't you?"

Zayne sighed, "Yeah... As far as I'm concerned they're important people in Zexiton, though it's well deserved. They both have truly incredible powers."

Karin waved her hand, "Sure, they're strong, but I'm not inferior to them. I'm sure if I use all my strength I can beat them, one by one. If they fight together, the best I can hope for in that case is to escape."

Zayne gulped, he didn't know what Karin was capable of and only saw a few attacks from Klaus and Solomon, but, that was enough to know how strong Karin was.

There was silence for a while as they just stared at each other, then Karin sighed as her gaze darkened.

"Looks like there's only one option left. Enar did this on purpose." Karin surmised as she looked up.

Zayne got goosebumps as he remembered the Mirror Room, there he fought against Enar who used all his power, so that's why he couldn't do anything. His opponent was simply too strong, so much so that Zayne's best time did not reach ten seconds.

"What...?" Zayne whispered, "Are you saying that Enar decided to die and he chose that Dungeon to do it?"

Karin glanced at him, "Yeah, I have no other explanation for why it happened. Enar was always different, maybe he saw something special in you or maybe he wanted to teach you something before he left our world."

Zayne looked down with a pale face. He felt strange, for now, he thought his victory was undeserved. Since if his opponent was walking to his death, was that an accomplishment on his part?

Karin noticed that.

"Hey, don't make such a frowning face. I'm sure that even if Enar wanted to end his life in battle, he didn't just fall to his knees in front of you, putting his neck under your sword. He must have beaten you practically to death before you made one last attack." Karin smirked, assuming that's exactly what happened.

"Fuck... Anyway, I wasn't prepared for this news." Zayne muttered with a fworm look as he clenched his fists tightly, "I haven't beaten any strong opponents yet!"

Crackle.

Zayne brought his fists down like hammers on the ground, clenching his teeth tightly as his veins swelled with rage.

Enar wanted to die, and Selania was considerably weakened by the many conditions the rest of the enemies Zayne fought against were not so strong that he could consider defeating them a true achievement.

Clap.

Karin clapped her palms together, drawing Zayne's attention to herself.

"Calm down. Never let your emotions control you. That doesn't mean you have to give them up, emotions can be followed and it will give you extra power, but you should always be the one in control." Karin said coldly in a low tone.

Step. Step. Step.

She walked slowly toward Zayne, while gradually spreading her aura that made it seem much colder around.

Zayne grew wary as he abruptly jumped aside and prepared to fight.

"What are you doing...?" Zayne asked though he knew what the answer would be.

"I want you to distract yourself. It will help you come to your senses, moreover, I want you to do something else for me." Karin smirked as she touched her lips.

Zayne inhaled, "You're pretty annoying. I don't consider you an enemy, but you're definitely not my friend, at least not yet. Your actions are too chaotic and strange."

"Oh... Is that the kind of thing you can say to a girl who took the time and effort to take care of you? Killing that Oracle, surreptitiously, was pretty hard, you know." Karin shook her head with puffed-up cheeks, then a sly smirk appeared sharply on her face.

Zayne glanced at her sword, which was still covered in purple flame, though it had become much smaller. Soon the sword should have absorbed all the energy, but for now, Zayne could not use his weapon. He was once again unarmed, all he had was his hands and skills.

"Use your dance." Karin said calmly as if she could see right through Zayne.

Zayne was silent for a while until he gulped, incredulous, saying, "How do you know I have this skill...? I didn't use it in this fight. Did you really follow me much earlier?"

Karin shook her head, "No, I first met you at the academy, or rather I found out you were there and quickly followed you. The thing is, each member of the Shattered Moon Order, has their own dance. It's a unique skill that each member learns separately, it's original because it comes from the traits of ourselves."

Zayne nodded with a deep look, understanding what Karin was talking about. He had many difficult moments in his life that often made his emotional state unstable, and his dance was like a long road from zero to full high with its effects.

"Oh, you seem to know what I'm talking about. That's good. In that case, show me your dance! I want to see it!" Karin exclaimed with glowing eyes of anticipation.

Zayne smirked, "Well, in that case, I want to see your dance."

Karin's mouth corners lifted slightly, "Hah, don't be so funny. If I use my dance, I might accidentally kill you. I don't want that at all. I'll just let you blow off steam, and your dance will be my reward for helping me."

Zayne frowned, but deep down he knew that maybe Karin was right. His instincts told him that if they fought in seriousness, he would surely lose or die.

Zayne took a deep breath, got into a fighting stance, and directed his mana to the center of his chest, gradually his eyes grew darker as all the light was gone from them, as well as all his energy that Karin could clearly feel before.

'How strange, it's like he lost all his powers in an instant, however, that's definitely not the case.' Karin pondered, assessing Zayne's changes like an experienced fighter, 'I can see in his eyes that the first blow will be hard. I have to be careful, he definitely can't beat me, but if I'm not serious I might get hurt.'

Karin slowly ran her hands from top to bottom before lunging forward, attacking Zayne.
