“Corey, your parents…” Elaina looked at the sensible child in front of her. She did not know how to

tell Corey the news of his parents’ death.

younger sister?”

“Yes.”

Soon, Corey left, leaving Jalen and Elaina in the tent.

“I understand how you feel as a doctor and want to save everyone, but you have to admit that you

are not all-powerful,” Jalen comforted.

Elaina pursed her lips and forced a smile. “Don’t worry. I understand.”

As they spoke, they slowly fell silent, and neither of them spoke again.

After a while, Jalen finally said, “That night, the reason why I went to dinner with Alisha was that we are friends. I couldn’t directly refuse her when she asked me to have dinner with her. But I did

not expect her to drug me.”

Elaina did not expect Jalen would explain the matter between him and Alisha. Elaina didn’t know how to describe her feelings.

Noticing that Elaina fell silent, Jalen continued, “You couldn’t surf the internet here. So, you might not know that Alisha has already married Deven. They just held the wedding.”

Elaina asked in disbelief, “How could she marry Deven?”

Elaina was not familiar with Deven, but she knew something about him. After all, the Stein family was quite famous in New York. The Stein family could even be compared with the Halton family.

Jalen said, “Ernesto always wanted to ask for the help of the Stein family, and Deven seemed to like Alisha very much. So, it was not strange for their marriage.”
