Chapter 255

Seeing him busy in the kitchen alone, Elaina felt a bit apologetic. “Theodore, Andrew, sit down and rest for a while. I’ll go to the kitchen to take a look.”

“Go.” Andrew waved at her. “We’re family. There’s no need to be so polite to us.”

Elaina got up and left the living room for the kitchen, but Theodore’s face darkened because of what Andrew just said, “What do you mean? When did Jalen become our family?”

“Isn’t this just a matter of time? Look how close he is to Elaina. They’re not far from getting married again.” Andrew chuckled and deliberately provoked Theodore.

Andrew wanted Theodore to understand that Elaina would never be with him.

“Don’t you know how Jalen treated Elaina before? Now you are supporting him instead! Andrew, do you see Elaina as your sister?” Theodore was furious. From the moment he saw Jalen at Elaina’s place, he began to feel angry. Andrew’s words made his fury stronger.

Andrew shrugged and said to Theodore, “I want her to be happy because I think of her as my

younger sister.”

“Jalen can’t give her happiness!” Theodore said coldly.

“Can you?”

Andrew stopped smiling and looked at Theodore coldly. “I thought that you would listen. It seems

that I was thinking too much.

“In my opinion, no matter who Elaina is with, as long as she is happy, I will support her as her brother. What about you? Will you do the same?”

Theodore gritted his teeth and his face was gloomy. “Since she can be with anyone, why can’t she be

with me?”

“You can’t!” Andrew looked at Theodore and was a little angry. “Elaina will not accept you. She will not be with you.”

“How will I know if I don’t try?” Theodore asked.

“Isn’t her attitude obvious enough? Do you really want her to become a stranger to you?” Why couldn’t Theodore understand it? Andrew was so annoyed.

Theodore was silent.

Andrew was right. Elaina had made herself clear.

But he was still unwilling to give up.

Both of them fell silent. No one spoke again until Elaina and Jalen came out with the dishes. Only then did Elaina and Jalen realize that something was wrong with Theodore and Andrew.

“What’s wrong?” Elaina asked, confused.

“Nothing.” Andrew shook his head.

Andrew got up and walked to the dining table. Looking at the dishes, he exclaimed, “Are they all made by Jalen?”

“Yep.” Elaina nodded, a little embarrassed. “Andrew, you know that I can’t cook.”

“That’s true. You never cooked ever since you were a child.” Andrew did not doubt it and believed that the dishes were all made by Jalen.

Andrew looked at the dishes on the table and then at Jalen. He just felt that it was not real. “Mr. Halton, I never expect you to be a good cook. The dishes seem to be delicious.”

“Sit down and try it. I’ll come to cook for you again if you like them.” Jalen smiled and got Andrew

some wine.

Elaina glanced at him. Why did she feel that Jalen seemed to treat this place as his home?

Forget it. Since Jalen had made a big meal, Elaina decided not to argue with him.

The three sat down, but Theodore did not move.

Elaina looked at him and shouted, “Theodore, come over and eat.”

“Okay.” Theodore stood up. He did not want to eat the food Jalen cooked, but he did not want to leave just like that. No one knew how closer Elaina and Jalen would be if he left.

Even if Theodore resisted it so much in his heart, he had to stay and watch to not give Jalen any

chance.
