Chapter 298

“Are you joking with me?” Elaina asked Natalie in surprise.

“I’m not joking with you. I’m serious.”

Natalie smiled and pulled Jazmin’s arm. “Jazmin is your cousin, after all. We are

families. You should help her, right?”

Jazmin also looked at Elaina and smiled, “Ella, I will depend on you.”

Elaina was speechless and thought, your attitude was different from before.

But Elaina couldn’t retort because Xzavier was also there. She didn’t know how to refuse.

“It’s already very difficult for Ella to live alone in New York. Don’t make trouble for her,”

Xzavier scolded Jazmin.

He knew his daughter very well. He didn’t believe that Jazmin really wanted to go to New

York to find a job. He knew that she had some bad ideas.

“Dad!”

Jazmin was a little angry. “You always treated Ella better than me since she was a child.

You are so good to her. What’s wrong with asking her to help me find a job? Do you want

to see me like this for the rest of my life?”

Jazmin also felt wronged. Since she was a child, other than Natalie, who always stood

by her side, everyone in the family liked Elaina.

Even Theodore and Andrew, who were adopted by Dexter, also protected Elaina from

childhood and didn’t care about Jazmin.

Jazmin was Xzavier’s daughter, but she thought everyone treated Elaina better than her!

The more she thought about it, the more she felt wronged. At last, Jazmin could not help

but cry. It made the other a little awkward.

Xzavier wanted to scold Jazmin, but seeing her cry now, he felt a little distressed.

He just sighed and did not say anything but drank wine.

Seeing this, Elaina did not want Xzavier to be embarrassed. So she said, “Jazmin, if you want to go with me, pack your things tonight. We will leave for New York tomorrow

morning.”

Jazmin, who was crying, was overjoyed when she heard this. “So, you agree?”

“Yes.” Elaina nodded and quickly said, “But I might not be able to find you a good job.

Don’t have too many expectations.”

Jazmin had just graduated from high school. Finding a job for her in a place like New York was difficult. All Elaina could do was arrange Jazmin into her own company.

“It’s fine.” To Jazmin, finding a job was not important. The most important thing was to

marry Jalen successfully.

After it was settled, Jazmin didn’t have the mood to eat and quickly ran home to pack her things. Natalie said she wanted to give a few words of advice to Jazmin and went back home. But no one knew what advice she was going to give Jazmin.

After Jazmin and Natalie left, Xzavier looked at Elaina with embarrassment. “Ella, sorry

for the trouble.”

“Xzavier, don’t say that. You are always kind to me. Now that I have the chance to repay

you, I am glad.” Although Elaina disliked Natalie and Jazmin, she was grateful to Xzavier.

During this time, Jalen did not say a word. He just ate the food silently. No one knew

what he was thinking.

At night, Elaina was lying on the bed. It was the room she was familiar with, but she

could not fall asleep.

She flipped over the bed and wanted to go out for a walk.

As soon as she stepped out of the room, she saw a tall figure standing in the yard. She

asked with uncertainty, “Jalen?”

Jalen turned back and looked at her. “Can’t fall asleep?”

“Yes.” Elaina walked over and stood next to him. “Why haven’t you slept yet?”

“I was thinking about something,” Jalen replied, his gaze falling on Elaina’s face.
