Elaina was surprised. She didn’t expect that Kent would know it before she could say anything. She could only say truthfully, “Yes, it’s about your father.”

“Him?” Kent frowned instantly. “Did he come to trouble you again?”

“Your father had committed a crime and is going to be sentenced.” Elaina shook her head and did not elaborate.

When he heard this, Kent did not look sad at all. He was even very happy. “Really? If he was sentenced, would he not be able to come out and trouble you?”

“Aren’t you sad?” Elaina asked.

“Why should I be sad? I didn’t consider him my father long ago.” Long ago, Jason, his father, had already died in his

heart.

He even hoped hundreds of times that Jason would die. In this way, it would be easier for him.

Hearing him say this, Elaina was stunned. She was a little surprised.

Seeing her reaction, Kent suddenly panicked. “Ella, do you think I’m too ruthless?”

“Thank you, Ella. I’m very happy that you can think like this.” He was afraid that Elaina would think that he was a heartless person.

Elaina reached out and touched his head. She smiled at him and said, “I’m just afraid that your father’s sentence will affect you.”

“I know, but… I do not care.” In his opinion, he was more willing to get rid of Jason. As for the rest, he did not care

that much.

Not long after, the waiter served the dishes. Elaina did not continue to talk about Jason with Kent. “Let’s eat. You don’t have to worry about other things. Study well.”

“I will.” Kent nodded. What he could do now was study well.

As they ate, Elaina kept picking food for Kent to let him eat more. She was not very hungry. After all, she had just eaten

something not long ago.

Kent did not refuse. He was very touched and thought that he would repay Elaina one day.

In the afternoon, after Elaina sent Kent back to school, she went to the company and talked to Adriana about the

opening.

When Elaina was about to leave, she bumped into Jazmin. When she saw Elaina, Jazmin seemed surprised, but soon her face turned cold. She pretended not to know Elaina.

Seeing Jazmin turn to leave, Elaina did not chase after her. Instead, she asked Adriana, who was beside her, “Has she been working well recently?”

Ever since Jazmin moved out, Elaina had not seen her. Adriana had never mentioned it to her. Elaina did not know

about Jazmin’s current situation.

“She has been doing well recentiy.” Adriana didn’t say something bad about Jazmin. “Although she doesn’t know anything, she is learning.”

Elaina was surprised. She did not expect that Jazmin could figure it out.

“But she doesn’t live in the company dormitory. She is renting a house outside,” Adriana said.

Elaina didn’t care about where Jazmin lived. Jazmin was already an adult and had her judgment.

“As long as she works well, that’s fine. I won’t spoil her if she doesn’t work well,” Elaina said.

“Don’t worry. Even if you spoil her, I won’t do it,” Adriana nodded.

She had no feelings for Jazmin, and she would never be soft–hearted if she were to chase Jazmin away.

Adriana did not continue talking about Jazmin. She sent Elaina downstairs. “Then drive carefully. I will go back to

work.”

“Well, I’m reassured since you are here at the company.” She did not care much. She only came occasionally to check the business, and she was completely at ease.

Adriana nodded. “You don’t have to worry about it. Just focus on your design.”
