Chapter 78

Jalen withdrew his gaze and didn’t answer this question instantly.

“Allie, what do you think is love?” Jalen suddenly asked Alisha a question that seemed irrelevant.

Alisha was shocked. She looked over at Jalen in disbelief. “You… Do you love her?”

“I don’t know.” Jalen shook his head. He really didn’t know.

“At first, I was just curious about her, but later on, I couldn’t tell why.”

Jalen held a cup of coffee in his hand and spoke slowly, but every word he said was like a knife that

stabbed Alisha’s heart.

After a long pause, Alisha finally came back to her senses. She suppressed her uneasiness and said, “You told me before that you don’t believe in love. You think that love is fake.”

“Yes.” Jalen didn’t refute.

If he had not met Elaina, he wouldn’t have believed that his heart, which had been silent for many

years, would beat so violently again.

“Maybe it is just your illusion, Jalen.”

Alisha met Jalen’s gaze and said, “You think that you are in love with her, but maybe you just get

curious about her. That’s why you have an interest in her.”

“You are right.” Jalen nodded and approved what she said.

Seeing this, Alisha breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, Jalen didn’t seem to fall for Elaina yet.

But she couldn’t let things continue to be like this.

Otherwise, Jalen would fall in love with Elaina sooner or later. At that time, Alisha would really have

no chance at all.

Half an hour later, Marcus arrived at the restaurant. When he saw Jalen, he subconsciously hid

behind Alisha. He was a little afraid of Jalen.

Jalen just glanced at him coldly and didn’t say a word.

Alisha reached out and pulled Marcus over to sit down. She said, “When that young lady comes, you have to apologize to her properly. Do you hear me?”

“Okay, okay.” Marcus nodded, but he sounded extremely perfunctory.

Five minutes later, Elaina arrived.

“Hello.” Alisha got up and gave her hand to Elaina. “I’m Alisha Lory, Marcus’s elder sister.”

“Elaina Gainsford. Hello, Ms. Lory.” Elaina nodded.

She didn’t shake hands with Alisha, nor did she care about the embarrassment that flashed across

Alisha’s face. She was not here to make friends.

“Ms. Gainsford, Marcus did something wrong. I have taught him a lesson, and I promise that it

won’t happen again.” As she spoke, Alisha nudged Marcus beside her.

But Marcus had never taken his eyes off Elaina ever since she showed up.

Because he felt that this woman was even more beautiful than a few days ago. He thought that it

would definitely be wonderful if he could bang her once.

Marcus’s gaze was so explicit that not only Elaina but also Jalen could feel it.

“Ah!” Marcus cried out in pain.

The hot coffee splashed on his face, along with Jalen’s low and gloomy voice. “If you don’t need your eyes, I can help you get rid of them.”

“Jalen, I’m so sorry. Marcus is…” Alisha also got mad at Marcus. How dare he be so bold in front of Jalen? Was he courting death?

Alisha wiped the coffee off Marcus’s face and glared at him. She gritted her teeth and said, “Apologize to Ms. Gainsford!”

“I’m sorry,” Marcus lowered his head and said unwillingly. The hatred in his eyes almost overflew.

“Louder!” Alisha shouted at him, not knowing why she had such a stupid little brother.

Marcus was shocked. He didn’t dare to disobey Alisha. So he raised his voice and said, “I’m sorry, Ms. Gainsford. I won’t do it again. Please forgive me.
