Chapter 76

Jalen glanced at him and nodded in satisfaction. “Keep an eye on the Lory family. I want any project th ey

want.”

“Okay.” Graham nodded but began to pray for the Lory Group inwardly, you’ve offended Mr. Halton, I a m afraid you will suffer a great loss.”

Just as Graham was about to continue speaking, someone knocked on the door.

Graham walked over to open the door. When he saw the person standing outside the door, he was sho cked.

“Ms… Ms. Lory.”

“Long time no see, Graham.” Alisha smiled at him and asked, “Is Jalen here?”

“Yes, he is,” Graham said and turned to look at Jalen.

Alisha walked into the office and smiled when she saw the man sitting behind the desk.

It had been a long time since they last met, but Jalen was still so handsome.

She said, “Jalen.”

Jalen frowned and was calm. “Why are you here?”

“I’m not busy overseas for the time being. I just wanted to come back and take a look,” she said, not caring

about Jalen’s emotions.

“Can we have lunch together?” she spoke again. Although she was worried about the Lory family, it was not the first time she met Jalen. Sh e knew some things could not be rushed.

Jalen hesitated for a moment but still nodded. “I’ll buy you lunch.”

“Okay.”

As they spoke, they walked out of the office together.

Graham watched them disappear, and for some reason, he had a bad feeling.

“The relationship between Ms. Lory and Mr. Halton…” Graham murmured and shook his head. “I can’t figure it

out.”

In the dining room, Alisha was eating. She smiled and said, “The food in New York suits my taste the m ost.”

“In that case, stay,” Jalen said.

“Yes, I will think about it.” She nodded and seemed to really be thinking.

Halfway through the meal, Alisha suddenly thought of something and said, “It’s almost your grandfather ’s birthday, right?”

“Yes, it will be next week.” Jalen nodded.

“Then I came back at the right time. I haven’t seen him for a long time. How is he?” she asked naturally, and

Jalen did not find it strange.

Jalen put down his fork and said, “He’s fine.”

“That’s good.”

“You didn’t come to find me to say this, did you?” Jalen leaned back in his chair, looking at Alisha’s face as if

he saw through her.

Alisha smiled, put down her fork, and said coquettishly, “I really cannot hide anything from you.”

Jalen chuckled. The Lory family was in trouble, and Alisha suddenly returned. He was not a fool. How could

he not know why she was doing this?

“Marcus told me everything. It was indeed his fault. I apologize to you on his behalf,” Alisha said serious

She did not want the two families to become enemies because of a woman.

Although that woman was good–looking, Alisha did not take her seriously. These years, Jalen had attracted

many beautiful women.

But he just went out with them on a whim. He got bored after some time.

Jalen did not reply and looked at her coldly. Alisha felt uneasy. “Jalen, you know how Marcus is.

“He didn’t know the relationship between you and that young lady,” she added.

“Since you know what kind of person he is, you should understand I did not put him in jail because of you,” Jalen said col

“Jalen…”

“He has hurt a lot of girls. I don’t care if your family wants to protect him. As long as you can bear the consequences, it has nothing to do with me. But this time…”

As Jalen spoke, his face darkened.
