Falling In Love With Him – Her First Love

Chapter 102 - It's A Trap

Chapter 102 - It's A Trap

Alexander shuddered, remembering the horrifying scene from the past.

That day, Sebastian was driving too fast, and Alexander couldn't wait to reach their destination. "Something is not right, Romano," Alexander said. Instinct was telling him to back off. He had a strong feeling that he was heading the wrong way.

He remembered what Felicity had said before he left home, and her words echoed in his mind.

'As if you're not coming home anytime soon.'

She had pointed out that their son was not even there, and hence, Alexander didn't have to go. When she spoke those words, it comforted him to some extent, and he had sighed in relief because the Baresi brothers would never reach his son. He was safe with his grandfather in Italy.

.

Alexander's heart panicked as his brain collected his thoughts and calculated them. Baresi brothers were planning to kidnap his son, but they didn't know that his son was not with him in Havana. So they were still going to attack. Now Alexander was far away from home while his Felicity and Hera were alone.

His eyes widened with fright, but his face turned red with fury. "I should've known, it's a trap," he spoke through his gritted teeth. His hand came crashing into the dashboard as he punched it in anger.

Sebastian glanced at Alexander, and the look on his face scared him. Before he could open his mouth to ask what was wrong, Alexander spoke. "Hit the U-turn, Romano. My world is in danger," he commanded.

Sebastian wanted to go ahead with his previous plan, but Alexander's tone left no room for further discussion. One look at his boss' murderous eyes was all it took for him to turn the car, and he sped off.

"Who was your source, Romano?" Alexander asked. "Deacon tipped me about the location of the Baresi twins," Sebastian answered, and Alexander cursed. Deacon was Sebastian's cousin, and Alexander never trusted that parasite. He didn't have a single bone of loyalty in him. "I thought you were smarter than that, Romano. How could you trust that filthy excuse for a human?" Alexander lashed out, accusingly. Sebastian couldn't dare answer that question.

Alexander took out his phone and dialled his wife's number, but to his horror, she didn't answer his call. He tried calling her again and again. However, she never returned his call. He dialled the number of the chief of his security in charge who was supposed to be guarding Felicity. "Why the hell are they not answering my phone?" Alexander yelled, punching the dashboard again.

He checked the time on his wristwatch. An hour had passed since he left home. "We're running out of time, Romano. Please take me to my Felicity," he said, looking out of the window. He didn't want to show his vulnerability, yet his voice came out broken, and his tone was pleading Sebastian.

Sebastian didn't miss the panic in his voice. He knew that Alexander was frightened to death. After all, Felicity was his life and the thought of losing his love was killing him. "I'm almost there, Alessandro. She'll be fine, don't worry," he said, trying to lessen Alexander's fear. He was not only his boss but also his best friend. Sebastian had the liberty of addressing Alexander by his first name, but he rarely used it.

Alexander pulled out his gun, checking its barrel. Sebastian sent a silent prayer for Felicity's safety. He knew in his heart that he was going to face something terrible.

'You're going to die in my hands today, Deacon.'

Sebastian vowed. He changed the gear, his foot increased the pressure on the accelerator pedal to its limit, and he drove faster.

Sebastian hardly hit the breaks, and Alexander jumped out of the car and ran through the gate to his rented villa. His bodyguards ran along covering him, with their guns ready to aim at the target. His heart sank to his stomach as his eyes witnessed the horrifying scene. His men were all dead lying in the puddle of blood. Sebastian followed right behind but came to a sudden halt as he saw their men's lifeless bodies.

Alexander ordered his men to check and help if anyone was still breathing before he rushed to the door. It banged against the wall as he kicked it and barged inside. To his shock, Felicity hadn't locked the door from the inside. His panicked, loud, heartbeats violently thumped against his eardrums. His frightened eyes frantically searched every corner of the house within that one second, desperate to find his soul mate.

Shocked, Alexander's feet staggered back, and he collapsed against the wall. He felt his whole body freeze as his eyes finally found his Felicity's unmoving body lying on the couch. His eyes watered, and the tears blurred his vision. Terrified, Alexander couldn't breathe anymore. His lungs constricted, and his heart stopped.

Sebastian shook him violently, bringing him back to his senses. Alexander glanced at him and inhaled sharply, but still didn't make an attempt to get up. Sebastian pulled him up and pushed him in the direction of Felicity. Once her figure registered in his eyes, Alexander sprang quickly to reach her and crossed the distance in a flash.

He grabbed her shoulders and pulled her into his arms. Bending his head, he brought his ear to her chest and heard her heart beating steadily. He exhaled, releasing the breath he'd been holding and hugged her motionless form into his chest.

"Isn't he Alastair's brother?" Alexander heard Sebastian asking. Shifting Felicity's weight into his right arm, he brought his left arm to his eyes and wiped his teary eyes with his sleeve. He glanced at where Sebastian stood and watched him pointing a gun at Johnathan's chest. Holding the gun in his right hand, Sebastian checked the pulse on Johnathan's neck with his free hand.

"He's alive," he stated.

Alexander checked Felicity's body for any injuries, and he was relieved that he found none. Then he checked her neck, arms, wrists, and inner thighs for any sign of track mark of injections fearing she might have got drugged. However, he found no such mark. One of his men stood, aiming the gun at Johnathan. Sebastian had kept him on standby mode.

"Didn't anyone hear the gunshots or the blood-curdling screams of the dying people? What was the resort management team doing during this chaos? Shouldn't they take responsibility for the safety of their guests?" Sebastian muttered to himself as his men checked every corner of the house for any hidden danger.

Alexander placed Felicity carefully on the couch. He quickly marched into Hera's room, crossing the dead bodies on the floor. Bracing himself for the worst, Alexander pushed the door open. As he feared, little Hera had already got seized from her safe haven. Alexander noticed her medical file scattered on the floor, and it didn't take much time for him to know what else was missing. They had stolen the copy of Hera's birth certificate and her passport.

He kneeled and collected the scattered papers from the floor. Exhausted, his legs gave out, and he slumped down onto the floor. He felt so helpless he couldn't hold back his emotions anymore. Crumbling the papers in his hands, he covered his face and cried his heart out. Once the shock wore off, he pulled himself together and got back to his feet.

He took a moment to get rid of the tears. "There's no room for self-pity, you've more important things to take care of," Alexander clenched his fists and cursed. There was no time to waste. He'd to hurry before they take Hera out of the country.

Alexander walked into the kitchen and collected tap water in a glass. As he settled next to his wife's sleeping form, he noticed the two empty cups of coffee on the glass table. There was no doubt in his mind when he guessed that the drug must be in the coffee.

Sebastian watched him eyeing the coffee cups and voiced out his thoughts. "They must have drugged her coffee," he stated, and Alexander glanced at Johnathan's sleeping form. "Wake him up, Romano," he ordered before sprinkling water on Felicity's face. She didn't react, and Alexander poured some water into his palm and splashed the water on her face with a little force.

Felicity groaned in protest, and Alexander sighed in relief.

Johnathan was trying so hard to keep his eyes shut while Sebastian searched him. Sebastian found a gun in his jacket and held it up for Alexander to see. "Do you think our men let him in without checking?" He asked, and Alexander walked to him with the glass of water in hand.

Johnathan's heart was thumping so loud that he feared they might hear it. He couldn't thank his lucky stars enough, for he had switched his phone off and threw it under the furniture before Alexander entered the house. He knew, his call logs would provide enough evidence for Alexander to prove him guilty.
