Chapter 451 - The Last Difficult Problem

Chapter 451: The Last Difficult Problem

On the first floor of a commercial center outside the Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group base.

“Bang!”

“-4867!”

When the last remaining player, a Machine Gunner, whose machine gun was overheating and needed a barrel change with his back against the wall, received a headshot from Feng Luo that broke through the defense of his helmet, the first floor of the building became completely occupied by players from the Federation camp.

Big Pineapple walked over with his alloy shield raised from a Veterans Tribe party. Upon seeing the mission objective, Little Sulli, lying in Phoenix’s embrace as well as Feng Luo and the others, he smiled and spoke to them, “Ha! Old Feng, your speed is really something. I initially thought that we’d have to wait more than ten minutes at least. But in the end, you guys had rescued the person in just over five minutes.”

However, upon seeing Phoenix’s cold and expressionless face, he shrunk back a little.

“Could it be... Did Phoenix...” Big Pineapple looked at Feng Luo to indicate.

Feng Luo nodded to Big Pineapple. After that, he looked behind Big Pineapple at the middle-aged, around 30 or more years old, Machine Gunner player wearing the Veterans Tribe badge. “Brother Old Gun, many thanks for your help this time.”

“It’s nothing, Rose told us that we’re the ones who should be saying thanks. Dan Hen and I were in the same platoon, and if you’re his friend, then you’re my friend as well.” The Veterans Tribe elite team captain laughed and spoke in a very polite manner.

However, the Veterans Tribe players behind him could not help but stare at Feng Luo and his team, because in the previous battle, whether it was Feng Luo, Aida, or Onishi; each of their strength on display were shocking.

...

When the players from Veterans Tribe headed to the upper floors to eliminate over 20 Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group Elite players who had escaped and run to the other levels.

Onishi whispered into the players’ comms channel after the five of them gathered together again.

“Yeah, we’ve rescued the mission target. Next, we only have one remaining problem... How do we get her out of Silvermoon City and back to the rendezvous point?”

Since it was a players’ comms channel, only Feng Luo, Big Pineapple, Digital Cat, and Onishi could hear the conversation.

However, Digital Cat was still wearing her purple technology spectacles, and was still scanning the hacking instrument that displayed over a dozen surveillance videos per second, completely focused and immersed in it.

She and Big Pineapple followed the big group of Veterans Tribe players into the base’s building.

This arrangement allowed the team to execute and complete their operation by working internally and externally through the special agent communication device, even as communications were still disrupted.

“Indeed... This is not easy. This mission really does take a toll on the brain. It is definitely not something that can be solved just by combat alone.” Big Pineapple scratched his alloy helmet.

If it were only the five of them, they could use the disguise potion and change their identity to easily avoid and evade the surveillance and search of Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group.

However, with an unconscious eight-year-old NPC girl with them, it was way too obvious as Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group did have control over the surveillance system of the entire city.

From the fact that Roaring Dragon Light Wind sent over a hundred Elite members to defend a base, even when they were in a serious situation where they needed to defend the city, one could tell just how important the little girl was to him. Once Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group detected even a trace of their group, they would definitely be surrounded.

This was a “Competition Mission.” It was not simply a competition between the three special agent departments, it was also a competition between the rebel army camp and the Federation camp.

“Silver Cat, your device can hack into Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group’s surveillance system, can you blackout their entire surveillance? Or at the very least, modify them like just now?” Onishi asked Digital Cat with a frown. Silver Cat was Digital Cat’s codename.

“Very difficult, although Silvermoon City’s citywide surveillance system is for civilian use, it is actually set up to serve the military during war times. The encryption of the system is of a higher level compared to the one used by Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group’s base. With regard to the citywide surveillance system, Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group will definitely have Expert Level Chip Masters defending them. If we did too much, the enemy might be able to detect our hacking and infiltration of their system. The probability of that happening is more than 73%. Unless we’re at our wit’s end, I do not recommend taking the risk.” Digital Cat shook her head while throwing out a conclusion with a probability attached to it.

She looked at Feng Luo, who did not seem to be interested in the discussion but instead, had his eyes fixed on Phoenix who was carrying little Sulli, and said, “This is perhaps something for the decision-maker to talk about...”

“I think that we should ask someone who is currently hiding. He should be great at these sorts of things.” Feng Luo suddenly said, his eyes still glued to Phoenix’s side, to a spot that did not seem out of the ordinary at all.

“Someone who is in hiding?”

The three of them were dumbfounded and had no idea what Feng Luo was talking about.

After a while, Onishi and Digital Cat seemed to have remembered something as their face stiffened up. They also followed Feng Luo’s gaze and looked toward that spot.

The air and light at the location, which did not seem out of the ordinary in any way, suddenly distorted. After that, a human figure wearing a camouflage uniform suddenly appeared.

“You’ve actually awakened the Force, that’s quite surprising!” As if walking out of thin air, Nightingale’s slightly surprised and more cool and distant face appeared before the group.

Phoenix had a cold and stiff expression as she uttered, “It’s you!” She pointed her sword towards Nightingale as she took a step back while holding Little Sulli in her remaining arm.

In the last group battle on Death Hunter Island, Dark Phoenix dueled against Nightingale once and even forced Nightingale to break the rules and use the Force.

As such, when she found out that Nightingale had always been around her, there was simply no way Phoenix was able to keep a straight face.

Aida did not speak, as her usually calm gaze was also tinged with slight look of surprise towards Feng Luo, that quickly became a playful gaze.

She already knew of Nightingale’s existence. She may have already come to some sort of agreement with working with Nightingale.

In the original Resident Evil video game, Aida Wong was a neutral character who was neither good or evil. Her role, relative to Feng Luo and the other players, was actually that of a rival, so it would not be odd if she worked with Nightingale.

Her expression was because she remembered Feng Luo’s words before the operation began.

“Yeah, it’s fine to have been discovered (by Nightingale), it isn’t necessarily a bad thing...”

“As expected, he has awakened the Force!” However, Onishi was completely and utterly shocked!

Although he had a guess, having things affirmed by the NPC personally was still something that made him feel quite complicated.
