Chapter 475: Competition
As the sky began to blush with the first light of dawn, Michael sat alone on the beach, casting his fishing line into the gentle waves. He felt a sense of boredom creeping in as he struggled to find any excitement in the peaceful morning. The hypnotic sound of the water lapping at the shore was unable to distract him from his restless thoughts.
He had been feeling a little bored since he got his Game Helmet confiscated by the instructors, though it makes him feel a little better knowing he was not the only one who's in the same situation as him.
Meanwhile, back at the campground, Michael's classmates were slowly waking up for the day. They washed up and prepared breakfast, the enticing aroma of sizzling bacon and scrambled eggs filling the air. As they ate, they chatted about what things their instructors had planned for the day, and all of them were mostly complaining and feeling horrified thinking about what they would do today.
After breakfast, the instructors gathered the students together and immediately ordered them to run a lap around the island. As they ran, Michael found himself running alongside his friend, Brandon.
"You always wake up so early," Brandon said while trying to catch his breath with each step on the sandy ground.
"I thought you'd be the last one out of bed, since you really worked hard yesterday"
Michael chuckled. "I couldn't sleep, so I figured I'd try my hand at fishing again"
"Did you catch anything?" Brandon asked as his pace slowed down to a walk.
"Just a few small ones," Michael replied before quickly running past him..
Once the students completed their run and had a thirty minute rest, the instructors immediately split them into two groups for a swimming competition. Michael and Brandon ended up on opposing teams, while Maine, Lisa and unexpectedly, Chad were on Michael's team.
At first, Brandon was dissatisfied from being on opposite teams since he knew how very athletic Michael is, but when he saw that their classmate who is part of their swimming team joined their team, it lightly bloated his confidence.
"Prepare to lose," Brandon taunted playfully.
"We'll see about that," Maine, standing beside Michael, retorted, a competitive glint in her eyes.
Watching these group of college students looking all fired up all of a sudden, Michael slightly smiled and thought, 'Being in college is really the best time for teenagers'
"Get into your swimming attire and get back here in ten minutes, go!" shouted one of the instructors.
The students immediately dispersed back to the campgrounds and immediately changed into their swimwears. Like it was all planned, the women were all wearing their own set of sports bras and briefs, while the men were in their swimming shorts.
"I knew they were big, but damn bro~ those are freaking bonkers!"
When those words reached Michael's ears, he couldn't help but chuckle hearing the perverted tone behind it and when he turned around behind him to see who uttered those words, he saw that it was one of Chad's friends and was openly staring at Maine, and it seems like it would take a while before he can tear his eyes off from looking at those huge assets.
Maine, immediately felt a disturbance in the force and noticed a few of those perverted eyes looking at her, most especially at her chest.
"What are you looking at? Do you want me to poke your eyes out!?" Instead of her getting the one offended, it was actually her friend, Lisa who stepped forward and angrily yelled at them with such menacing glare in her eyes.
All of the men who were looking at Maine quickly averted their eyes and instead turned their attention to the other girls around them
Maine wasn't really bothered about it, and in fact, she actually quite liked the attention she's getting.
Even Michael couldn't stop himself from taking a glance at it, 'Hmmm, I think they are even bigger than Amanda's. That's at least D-cup, right? I get why that Brandon likes this girl, he must be into huge assets'
"What a group of perverted bastards, they have no manners" from out of nowhere, Chad suddenly appeared beside Michael. His words would have been so cool if he wasn't also looking at Maine with those same kinds of eyes.
"Alright, gather up with your teams and get ready!" one of the instructors quickly shouted to get their attention, and the students quickly gathered up with their own groups.
"But sir, are we really doing this? Since there are sharks around here" one of the students raised his hand and asked worriedly.
"You probably can't see it from here but we've already placed shark nets in the area. Though there are still probably small sharks around but they are no cause of concern" answered the instructor while pointing at something towards the sea.
In the distance, the students saw a small yacht in the distance, just bobbing along the waves.
"Do you see that boat over there? You're going to swim around it then come back here" Then he noticed the weird stare of the students on him, and he chuckled and quickly explained, "Of course, not all of you are going all the way there. It's going to be a relay race. Do you guys see that bobber over there? That's going to be the first checkpoint where the two first swimmers from both teams will race to and then back here to tag the next swimmer. The next swimmer will then swim all the way to the second bobber, then swim around it and come back, and so on and so forth. Any questions?"
"So how many bobbers are out there sir?" Lisa asked.
"Excluding the boat, there's 9 of those. So each team needs to have ten swimmers for this race and since the other team has eleven members, one of them will be excused from this race. Oh, don't be happy too early since the excused member will have a separate activity from the rest"
