Chapter 110

Two days later, Bennett managed to find out some information about Carmella’s painting being taken down from the exhibition.

He bribed one of the staff members at the exhibition, who told him that the person in charge had invited Old Mr. Quintin and his two students to evaluate the paintings the afternoon before the exhibition opening. After they left, Carmella’s painting was taken down. As for the specific reason, the staff didn’t know.

Bennett went home and told Simone and Carmella about it.

Simone speculated, “Could it be that Old Mr. Quintin didn’t like Carmella’s painting?”

Bennett said, “Old Mr. Quintin is highly respected in the industry. Although Albert is famous, he’s not Old Mr. Quintin’s proudest student. If Old Mr. Quintin had any objections to Carmella’s painting, I’m afraid Mr. Mullins wouldn’t dare to go against him.”

Carmella had not dared to go to school for several days and had locked herself in her room, becoming very haggard over these few days. She spoke with a depressed tone, “So what do we do?”

Simone thought for a moment, “Why don’t we ask Mr. Mullins to take us to visit Old Mr. Quintin? The exhibition will last for a month; if Old Mr. Quintin agrees, maybe Carmella’s painting still has a chance to be exhibited again?”

Carmella’s eyes lit up immediately, “Really?”

Bennett frowned, “Old Mr. Quintin is low–key and doesn’t come out a lot; I’m afraid it won’t be that easy to meet him.”

“But we have Mr. Mullins, right?” Simone, acting like grasping at life–saving straws, said urgently, “We said that Carmella’s painting was taken for restoration. If it could be exhibited again in a few days, people would believe it.”

In this way, they could save some dignity and make up for the loss.

Carmella immediately said, “I’ll call Mr. Mullins.”

Bennett spoke in a deep voice, “Let me do it. After all, Mr. Mullins shares some responsibility for this incident. I think he’ll help us out.”

Simone had an idea and said, “Hold on, don’t call him yet. This afternoon I’ll meet with Albert’s partner, she previously told me she’s been eyeing a ruby bracelet from GK Jewelry studio. I’ll go buy it now and give it to her this afternoon. Then you can call Albert tonight.” Bennett nodded, “That works.”

That afternoon, Simone went to the jewelry counter and bought the expensive bracelet without even blinking an eye.

She then met up with Albert’s partner and successfully gave her the bracelet.

That night, Bennett called Albert and politely asked if he could introduce Carmella to Old Mr. Quintin.

Albert didn’t refuse nor immediately agree either. He said he would ask if Old Mr. Quintin had time recently.

Bennett chuckled and thanked Albert before hanging up.

Simone and Carmella eagerly awaited by his side and asked how it went.

Bennett smiled, “It seems like it should be fine. After all, Carmella is Albert’s student, so Old Mr. Quintin is her grand mentor in a way. It’s only reasonable to visit him.”

Simone’s relieved when she heard this, believing that as long as she could meet Old Mr. Quintin, there would be a chance for things to turn around.

She even had bigger aspirations – if Carmella could gain Old Mr. Quintin’s recognition and guidance, her future prospects would be completely different.

It wasn’t only about learning to paint; Old Mr. Quintin had a high status in the domestic industry, and his students‘ self–founded Snowy Studios had won several international awards, enjoying a good reputation both at home and abroad.

J City had many wealthy families, but the world of oil painting was always maintained its prestige and sought after by the rich, making it the best choice to showcase one’s taste.
