Victor asked curiously, “What’s the interesting thing?”

“Keep it low-key, don’t let anyone spot you, or you’ll miss all the fun!” Estelle said it mysteriously,

Victor’s eyes sparkled. “Are you pulling my leg?”

Estelle replied, “Once you’ve seen this ‘show’, you’ll be loaded!”

Victor said happily, “Really?”

“Yup!”

“Alright then!” Victor hid behind the bookshelf and pressed against the wall. “Can’t see me now, huh?”

“Yep, stay put and don’t make a peep!”

Victor chuckled. “As long as there’s money involved, I’m game for anything!”

Estelle didn’t respond as she saw Carmella and Blythe approaching.

Carmella entered the room, giving Estelle a faint smile. “Looking for me?”

Estelle asked Blythe to step out and close the door.

“Estelle, I offered to help with Ms. Yvonne’s clothing because I thought you were overwhelmed. I wanted to lighten your load. I’ve already told Mr. Tucker I don’t want any pay for it, much to his delight!” Carmella said sweetly, her eyes sparkling with triumph.

Estelle nodded. “You can take care of Yvonne’s outfits from now on. But I have a condition.”

Carmella looked at her cautiously and said, “What’s the catch?”

“I haven’t seen my parents for ages, and I’m thinking of going home. I hope you can put in a good word for me.” Estelle said with a soft

smile.

Victor, hidden behind the bookshelf, was puzzled. Estelle’s parents had passed away. Was she referring to her adoptive parents? He kept listening attentively.

Carmella looked wary and said, “Sure, but I’d suggest you reconsider. At yesterday’s family gathering, Grandpa was still hung up on your past scandal. He disapproves of you greatly. Mom was also embarrassed because of it and is still mad. If you go home now, they won’t be happy!”

*Carmella!” Estelle stood up, her eyes cold. “Bennett MacClain and Simone MacClain are my parents. I am the real daughter of the MacClain family. Haven’t you taken my place long enough? Don’t forget, if you return to the Brown family, you’ll have nothing!”

Carmella looked innocent. “Sure, you’re their biological daughter, and I was switched at birth. But if they don’t like you, what can I do? It’s not up to me who they prefer!”

Estelle said coldly, “You’ve been trying to drive a wedge between Simone and me since day one, pushing me out of the MacClain family! Don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to. You want their affection all to yourself, and you might even get your hands on the MacClain family’s fortune. That’s why you’re afraid of me, right? You’re afraid I’ll come back?”

Carmella’s hidden agenda was revealed, and she no longer hid it. “What’s wrong with my parents wanting to give me all their wealth? I’ve lived with the MacClain family for over 20 years, calling them

mom and dad every day. To make them happy, I always excelled in everything and developed unique hobbies. I’ve worked hard to please them, so of course I should be rewarded!”

She sneered, “Estelle, what have you done? You were sent to the Brown family when you were young. After they died, you were adopted by someone else. You didn’t return to the MacClain family until you were 17, and soon after, you moved out again. What feelings do you have for the MacClain family? What right do you have to make my parents like you? Even a biological child can’t compare to one who’s been there since childhood!”

Estelle said, “Is it my fault that I was switched at birth?”

“It’s not your fault, nor is it mine. If anyone’s to blame, it’s your bad luck. Our lives were switched at birth. If you’re thinking about returning to the MacClain family, I’d advise against it!” Carmella said, her eyes cold.

She wouldn’t give Estelle a chance to return to the MacClain family. She wouldn’t even let Estelle get close to any member of the MacClain family!
