Chapter 1350

Charlie abruptly stopped in his tracks, glancing towards the preparation room, only to spot two women busy wrapping up gifts for the guests. The one in a long dress had a look of total disdain on her face, and her loud voice not considering at all that this was someone else’s personal business

The newlyweds were already on their way to the hotel, with staff members bustling about and guests coming over to look for things Those two women, with their gifts in hand, chatted their way toward the wedding hall.

Charlie’s gaze was icy as he glanced at Emily and Kya, who were still frolicking outside. His brows slightly furrowed, he continued on his way out.

Just as he’d expected, when he stood before them, Emily’s laugh froze on her face. She stared at him, looking utterly flabbergasted.

On the other hand, Kya’s face was full of joy as she ran towards Charlie.

Charlie’s eyes swept over Emily’s face as he bent down to scoop Kya up. “Kya, you look so pretty today!”

Kya giggled happily, then suddenly handed Charlie a piece of candy she had in her hand. T’ve got some candy for your

Is this saved for me?” Charlie took the candy, the sun illuminating his handsome face and making him seem particularly gentle Emily stood up. “Why are you here?”

“Of course I’m here because someone sent me an invite!” Charlie’s eyes twinkled as he looked at Emily. “You don’t want me here?”

Emily quickly shook her head. “No!”

“Did someone bully you?” Charlie suddenly asked quietly.

Those women who’d been discussing Emily’s private affairs so loudly probably also gossiped in front of Emily. Otherwise, Emily wouldn’t have left her guests to come here alone with Kya.

Emily paused, biting her lip with a determined yet gentle look in her eyes. I don’t care what others say

Charlie’s eyes darkened. “What kind of man is Kya’s father that you can forgive him so easily?”

Emily looked a bit uncomfortable; it took her a while to respond, “I do this for Kya, not for that man.”

“Are you sure?” Charlie’s voice was a bit cold. “Your unwavering love and fearlessness for Kya. Isn’t it because of your deep feelings for that man, which allows you to bear all the criticism from others?”

If she didn’t love that man, how could she have such strong beliefs?

Shouldn’t a woman who had been abandoned by a man feel regret and shame?

Emily’s heart skipped a beat, a look of embarrassment and annoyance flashed across her face, and her lips curled up tighter.

Charlie felt a lump in his throat; he didn’t want to look at Emily anymore. He turned his head and joked with Kya, pretending nothing happened.

Just then, someone announced that the newlyweds were about to arrive, and Emily quickly got up to prepare to pick up Kya. “We should go back!” Charlie holding Kya said, “Let’s go, we’ll go back together.”

Emily hesitantly agreed, “Okay!”

As Charlie walked ahead with Kya, Emily followed behind with a complicated look on her face.

“Uncle Charlie, is the bride here yet?” Kya’s innocent voice asked.

“The bride will be here soon!” Charlie chuckled. “Do you want to play a game?”

“What game?” Kya’s eyes sparkled.

“Today we’re going to play a family game, I’ll be your dad, and you’ll be my daughter, okay?” Charlie said it with a smile. Emily looked up at Charlie in surprise.
