Chapter 1421

But today, seeing her grandpa comatose in bed, she finally realized that he was old, even sick, and might leave her and her brother or vanish from this world. Estelle gripped Mr. Jarvis’s hand tightly and said, “Grandpa, I hope you can wake up; please wake up! I didn’t listen to you; I got back together with Jonathan. Wake up and scold me!”

Estelle leaned on Mr. Jarvis, feeling helpless and scared for the first time.

Just then, the door creaked open, and Wade came in with a bowl of porridge, looking at Estelle worriedly and saying, “Miss, you should eat something; you haven’t had a drop of water since the afternoon.”

Estelle shook her head. “I don’t want to eat; I can’t eat!”

“Miss, your grandpa will be fine. He won’t leave without seeing you and the young master.” Wade’s voice was choked with emotion, his figure more hunched over, as if talking to himself, “Your grandpa will pull through.”

Hearing Wade’s voice, Estelle felt a sting in her nose. She took a deep breath and asked, “Where’s Dr. Ollie?”

Wade’s cloudy eyes looked over, perking up a bit. “Dr. Ollie is brewing medicine in the kitchen.”

Estelle nodded. ” Mr. Wade, you go rest for a bit. I’ll keep watching over Grandpa. If Grandpa wakes up, I’ll let you know.”

But Wade slowly sat down against the wall and said, “I can’t sleep; just let me stay here with you.”

The clock nearby ticked by slowly, time passing bit by bit, and Wade started getting fidgety. “I’ll go check if Dr. Ollie’s medicine is ready.”

Estelle kept holding Mr. Jarvis’s hand, only feeling reassured when she felt his palm was warm. “You go ahead.”

Wade got up shakily and slowly walked out.

As he reached the front yard, he suddenly heard a knock on the door. He frowned slightly. He hadn’t told anyone outside about Mr. Jarvis’s illness; the people at the company shouldn’t know yet. who could it be at this hour?

When he opened the door, he saw the handsome face under the light and was startled. “Mr. Lamont.”

Jonathan gave a slight nod, his handsome face slightly somber in the deep night. “Is Estelle here?”

“Yes, the young lady is with the master.” Wade said.

“What happened to Grandpa?” Jonathan asked, furrowing his brows.

“The master is sick, still in a coma; the young lady has been taking care of him.” Wade gave a sigh, opened the door, and led Jonathan towards the courtyard. Jonathan asked in a deep voice, “Why not go to the hospital?

“Dr. Ollie knows the master’s condition best; he said it’s not advisable to move the master easily.” Wade explained with a choked voice.

“Is grandpa still in a coma?”

“Yes!”

Jonathan stood in the corridor, pausing for a moment, and said, “Then I won’t go in; I’ll wait here.”

Estelle must be in turmoil right now; he feared that if he went in now, it would make her more confused.

“Mr. Lamont?” Wade looked at Jonathan in surprise.

Jonathan slowly nodded. “I’ll stay here with her, waiting for Mr. Jarvis, and don’t tell her I’m here.”

In the deep night, the man’s eyes were deep and resolute, as if injecting a new strength into the heavy and desolate courtyard.

Wade seemed to understand the problem between Jonathan and Estelle, so he said, “Then you can wait for her in her room.”

“No need; I’ll just wait here.” Jonathan’s gaze pierced through the courtyard, resting on the lit wooden window. “From here, I can see her.”

Wade looked back; he could only nod in agreement. “When the master wakes up, I’ll come and let you know.”

“Thanks for that, Wade.”
