“Sure thing!” Jonathan cleared his throat, took her hand, and they walked through the courtyard and corridor towards the kitchen.
After the meal, Mr. Jarvis needed to rest. Estelle only left his room after he had fallen asleep
She and Jonathan had been up all night, so they went back to their room to catch up on some sleep.
Estelle suggested Jonathan sleep in the next room, but he adamantly refused. He promised he wouldn’t disturb her, he just wanted to hold her while they slept. Nothing more.
Estelle couldn’t bear to be apart from Jonathan, so in the end, she invited him back to her room.

Jonathan gently stroked her face, chuckling. “Alright, rest up. I won’t disturb you”
“You should sleep too,” Estelle mumbled.
Estelle hadn’t slept well the night before and was feeling drowsy. Smelling Jonathan’s familiar, comforting scent, she quickly fell asleep.
“Sure thing”Jonathan held Estelle close. “Let’s sleep.”
Estelle’s sleep wasn’t peaceful. She dreamed of her childhood when she first came to live with the Jarvis family. Mr. Jarvis took her mountain climbing and promised to catch a wild rabbit for her. But suddenly, Mr. Jarvis was gone, and she lost her way, falling off a cliff.
“Mr. Jarvis”
Estelle woke up with a start, only to be held tightly by Jonathan.
“Bad dream?” Jonathan held her close, kissing her forehead. “Don’t worry, I’m here”
Jonathan wiped the thin layer of sweat off her forehead, showering her with kisses.
Estelle opened her eyes, regaining her calm, though she looked a bit pale

“You’ve only slept for an hour. Mr. Jarvis is fine; I’ve just checked on him.” Jonathan pulled her back into his arms, patting her shoulder reassuringly. “Rest easy, I’m here for you and Mr. Jarvis”
Estelle looked at the neat row of buttons on his shirt, asking softly, “Haven’t you slept?”
1 caught some shut-eye. I don’t need much sleep. I can pull an all-nighter, no problem”
His deep, soothing voice brought comfort. “Sleep, I’ll handle everything”
Listening to his steady heartbeat, Estelle relaxed and fell back asleep.
