Chapter 145

Goshawk exclaimed with enthusiasm, “Boss, you’re the best!”

Blue Hawk was accustomed to Goshawk’s excessive admiration and sycophantic behavior towards the boss.

Knock knock knock!

The sound of knocking suddenly came. Estelle closed her laptop, and the screen behind her went dark.

Estelle went to open the door, and Emily was standing outside, smiling sweetly, “I made some sweet soup, wanna try?”

“Mm, I’m coming!” Estelle smiled.

“Alright, I’ll put it in a bowl and wait for you!” Emily waved her hand and walked away.

As they enjoyed the soup, Emily asked Estelle if she wanted to find a job since their dessert shop was hiring.

Estelle planned to visit her grandfather in C City after Henson finished his exams, so she declined Emily’s offer and asked, “Are you going to work at the dessert shop forever? Don’t you want to find a job related to your major?”

Emily was about to enter her senior year. She loved making desserts and her major, so she raised her eyebrows and smiled, “Mm, after the summer holiday, I’ll quit the dessert shop and look for an internship.”

“Are you going to apply for graduate school?” Estelle asked.

Emily shook her head, “My mom is working too hard, and my brother had a girlfriend, so we’ll need a lot of money soon. I am going to work first and think about grad school later.”

Estelle knew Emily was a top student and had even won awards for her architectural designs. It would be a shame not to apply for a postgraduate course.

“If you need money, just tell me.” Estelle smiled.

Emily nodded and replied, “Sure, no need to be polite.”

After they finished their soup, they decided to go watch a movie.

Just as they were about to start, Chris called Estelle and asked, “Estelle, are you asleep?”

“Not yet, what’s up?” Estelle stood up and walked to the balcony.

Chris chuckled, “What are you doing during the break? My friend’s company wants to do a culture wall, and part of it requires professional painting. I saw your drawings in the campus hand–drawn map I collected at school, they are so good, even better than pros! So I thought of asking you to join me in this gig. It takes about three days, and you’ll get 5,000 dollars. What do you say?” Estelle thought back to the campus map drawing activity during her freshman year, which she participated in with Isis, and was surprised that Chris still remembered.

She agreed since she was free, “Sure, no problem.”

Chris was energetic, “I’ll wait for you at the school gate at eight tomorrow morning, and we’ll go together.”

Estelle laughed, “No need, just send me the address, and I’ll meet you at the company entrance.”

Chris agreed, “Alright, I’ll text you the address now.”

Back in the living room, Estelle told Emily about the culture wall project. Emily was happy, “It’s a great gig, short time and good pay.” Estelle nodded and smiled, “When the job is done, I’ll treat you to a meal!”

Emily was excited, “Bring home some food, and I’ll cook a big meal for us!”

The next day, Estelle arrived at the Barry Group on time.

Chris was there five minutes early, waiting for her, and they entered the office building together.

Everyone in the company was friendly, offering tea and water and asking if they needed help.

The two bought materials and paints, prepared easels, ladders, and other tools, and chose the final design. The busy morning flew by. Chris, with his tall and handsome appearance, stood out, while Estelle was delicate and pretty. Their presence caught the attention of many people in the office, who couldn’t help but steal glances at them. Estelle even overheard whispers circulating about them. “Are they a couple? They’re so perfect for each other!”

I guess so. I heard they’re both students from University of J City.”
