Chapter 207

The two of them chatted for quite a while before Estelle glanced at the time and got up, saying, “Grandpa, you should go to sleep. I’m gonna check on the flowers.”

Old Mr. Jarvis snorted with a smile, “Are you really going to see the flowers or someone else?”

Estelle maintained a serious expression as she replied. “Even if it’s just to see someone, I should go. He stayed awake to watch the flowers while I slept.”

Old Mr. Jarvis inquired, “And whom are you going to see?”

Estelle was left speechless.

Old Mr. Jarvis waved his hand dismissively “Alright, off you go. I should get some rest as well. Make sure to have breakfast tomorrow morning before you leave. I’ve already asked Wade to prepare everything”

“Okay, then. Goodnight, grandpa!” Estelle said warmly, accompanied by a smile.

“Go ahead!” Old Mr. Jarvis responded.

Watching Estelle leave, he slowly walked to his bedroom, shaking his head and chuckling as the thought of something. He hoped Jonathan wouldn’t turn out to be as much of a scoundrel as his father.

As Estelle exited Old Mr. Jarvis’s place, she saw a figure sitting on a stone stool outside in the moonlit night.

Approaching the person, she recognized it was Old Wade, who was asleep against a pillar with a thermos in his arms.

“Old Mr. Wade!” Estelle squatted down and called him gently.

Waking up from his nap, Old Wade saw it was Estelle and smiled kindly. “I fall asleep easily now that I’m old. I didn’t expect to doze off while waiting for you!”

“Waiting for me?” she asked.

Old Wade nodded and handed the thermos to Estelle, ‘I had the cook make you some sweet soup. It’s cold at night, so y’all should drink something warm.“

Grateful, Estelle took the thermos and said, “You should get back to sleep.”

Old Wade told her, “Come back more often when you’re available. Old Mr. Jarvis always complains over the phone, but he misses you and waits for your return.”

Estelle’s eyes filled with tears. “Yes! Both you and Old Mr. Jarvis must take care of yourselves.”

“No need to worry about me, dear, I only have a few years left Old Wade said, rising from his seat. Estelle hurriedly went to his side, offering support

“There’s no need for that, my dear Carry on!” Old Wade said, a kind smile on his face.

Old Wade gazed at Estelle affectionately before slowly making his way back to his room. In the moonlight, he seemed to stumble slightly, his hair appearing even

whiter.

When Estelle first joined the Jarvis family. Old Wade was already there, even older than Old Mr. Jarvis. He never married his whole life, always serving Old Mr. Jarvis and watching over the Jarvis family.

Just like Old Mr. Jarvis, Old Wade treated her like his own granddaughter from the day she joined the family.

To Estelle, Old Wade and Old Mr. Jarvis were just like her grandfathers

Carrying the thermos, she headed to the garden where the Moonflowers had just bloomed, their sweet scent filling the air.
