Chapter 226

Emily sighed and nodded, saying, “Noreen’s are like that!”

Estelle frowned and said, “So that’s Charlie’s taste, huh?”

Emily couldn’t help but laugh, “Maybe he just digs it, like s starving calf always chasing after the mother cow, who knows…”

Estelle had some images in her head and burst out laughing.

“Knock, knock!”

The kitchen glass door was knocked, and Charlie pushed it open, laughing, “What are you two ladies laughing about? A poor, hungry patient is waiting for dinner here!”

Emily got startled, thinking Charlie overheard their conversation. She exchanged glances with Estelle, both recalling the joke, and they couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

Charlie looked puzzled, “Did I say something funny?”

Trying to hold back her laughter, Emily took a cake from the fridge and told him, “I made this in the afternoon, you can have some first. Dinner will be ready soon!”

Frowning at the cake, Charlie looked up and asked, “Is there any milk?”

Stunned, Emily tried to suppress her laughter while looking at Charlie. Eventually, she couldn’t resist and squatted down, laughing so hard that her whole body was shaking.

Still puzzled, Charlie asked Estelle, “What’s up with her?”

Struggling to keep a straight face, Estelle casually replied, “She just thought of a starving calf!”

“HAHAHA!” Emily laughed so hard she sat on the floor.

Charlie was totally speechless.

An hour later, dinner was served. Since Estelle was there, Emily made extra food, some of the dishes are spicy just for her.

Having eaten healthy food for two days, Charlie drooled over Estelle’s spicy dishes and bargained with Emily, “Can I have just one or two bites?”

Emily shook her head, “No, not even a single bite!”

Having been around each other for a few days, Emily was used to bickering with him and could handle his banter like a pro.

Annoyed, Charlie said, “Are you trying to make me jealous?”

Emily pushed a plate of salad in front of him, “This one’s yours!”

He used to enjoy his food, but today it suddenly lost its appeal. He asked, “What’s that in the kitchen?”

Emily blurted out, “Soup I made for you!”

Estelle and Charlie had met twice before, so they weren’t that close. However, after today’s dinner, Estelle felt Charlie is such an easygoing

person.

Charlie had a certain charm, which could make people feel close to him involuntarily.

When they were doing the dishes, Estelle commented on it, and Emily snorted, “People like him could make friends instantly, like my mom says – they have a thick skin!”

Estelle shook her head, “For someone with his background, not having that sense of superiority is already pretty good!”

She knew many rich young men through Magdalen, who always thought they were better than everyone else.

After cleaning up the kitchen, Estelle wanted to say goodbye and head upstairs.

Emily held onto her, saying, “It’s still early, you’ll be alone upstairs, stay with me and let’s chat!”

Although she was open about her relationship with Charlie, being alone in a house with him still felt awkward.

Charlie laughed, “I’m going to the study to handle some business. You two have fun!”

He picked a bottle of champagne from the wine cabinet for Emily, “This is for you, girls like it.”

Emily didn’t take it, asking, “Is it very expensive?”
