Of course, she didn’t say anything. She just took out a tissue, dried her hands, and left.

Sabina watched her leave and scrunched up her eyebrows.

Jonathan had just arrived in J City when he received a call from Charlie, “You’re back? Josiah is back too, but he doesn’t dare to call you. He asked me to tell you.”

Jonathan sat in the car and chuckled, “He’s afraid of me?”

“Yeah, he is. He both loves and fears you, haha!” Charlie laughed exaggeratedly.

“What has he been doing these past two years?” Jonathan asked.

“I asked, but that brat won’t talk. When we are having dinner tonight, you can interrogate him personally!” Charlie said.

“Alright, see you tonight!”

After hanging up the phone, Jonathan thought for a moment and called Estelle, “Where are you?”

Estelle had just returned from the Macclain family, she lightly smiled and said, “Just got back. What about you? Are you back?”

“I’m in J City,” Jonathan replied. “I have something to do tonight, but I’ll come by Midnight Bar later to pick you up!”

“Ok!”

That evening, Jonathan and Charlie met at Culinary Paradise. Charlie arrived early and was chatting with friends he’d run into while waiting for Jonathan.

As Charlie talked, he glanced casually out the window and his eyes locked on a figure outside. The weather was bad that day, and it was already dark just at dusk. A person was sitting by the roadside in a delivery uniform with a helmet and a food delivery box beside, wolfing down a sandwich.

Charlie hadn’t been to the Royal Mansion since he recovered from head injury and he hadn’t seen Emily in days. He didn’t expect her to be delivering food again!

Suddenly, he received a notification on his phone. He swiped it open and saw that Emily had transferred 5,000 dollars to him.

[I got paid, so here’s part of what I owe you. If my job remains stable, I’ll pay you $5,000 every month.]

Looking at the transfer and the message, Charlie felt a strange sensation in his heart.

He turned to look out the window and saw her putting down a water bottle and looking at her phone.

Emily finished the last bite of her sandwich, feeling happy. If she could repay Charlie $5,000 every month, she could clear her debt in less than

two years.

However, once the semester started, she couldn’t be at the dessert store the whole day, thus would potentially earn less.

It was okay, she’d just deliver food for an extra two hours at night. As long as she saved money, getting $5,000 a month was possible.

As Emily was planning, Estelle called her, and she answered cheerfully, “Estelle.”

“Didn’t you have a morning shift today? Why aren’t you at home?” Estelle asked.

Emily smiled, “I had some free time in the afternoon, so I started delivering food early.”

“Did you eat yet?” Estelle asked.

Emily took a sip of water, “I didn’t have time to eat at lunch, so I just ate. I guess that’s dinner!”

“It’s going to rain soon!”

“That’s fine, my clothes are waterproof!”

Just as she finished speaking, another call came in. She hurriedly said, “Estelle, I gotta go pick up delivery now. We’ll catch up later!”

After hanging up, Emily picked up her delivery box and headed towards Culinary Paradise nearby.
