Chapter 371

Millard get out of the car and opened the door, saying, “Mr. Lamont asked me to pick you up

Estelle nodded and got in the car.

The investigation at Midnight Bar didn’t yield much. Christieris autopsy revealed that he indeed had a heart problem. But since the surface of his body was burnt, the cause of his heart problems needed further investigation.

It was quite surprising when the investigation into Christian’s true identity came back. At the same time, tons of contraband were found in his food factory warehouse in J City

Due to his special identity, the case could only be sealed and handed over, waiting for instructions from the higher-ups.

The instructions came quickly, asking them to quickly close the case as an accident.

The police issued a statement saying that Christian had a heart attack, and the cigarette in his hand caused a fire that burned him to death. Midnight Bar’s fire alarm was delayed, causing casualties. They were ordered to make rectifications and suspend business for a month.

The case was closed like that. A long time later, a young policeman and the captain talked about this over drinks, asking who Christian really was.

The captain closed the door, showing a serious expression, and pointed up, “He used to rule the Y City. Then he suddenly resigned and went into business, disappearing for many years. Now, he suddenly died, and so many things were found. Naturally, no one wants to dig deeper because his death is better.”

He lowered his voice, “I heard that his suppliers and dealers were all arrested, and the whole black chain was wiped out.”

The captain spoke ambiguously, but the young policeman understood, showing a shocked expression, “Was his death really an accident?”

The captain shook his head, took a puff of smoke, and said meaningfully, “There might be an unsung hero behind it all!”

The young policeman paused for a while, then nodded slowly.

Of course, this was said later. At the moment, Midnight Bar was suspended for rectification. Estelle was about to start school, so she naturally resigned.

Estelle planned to go back to C City to spend a few days with her grandfather before school started. Before doing so, she and Jason agreed to visit their master.

She went to the dessert shop and bought some pastries. While sitting by the window sipping a milkshake, Aimee came over and gave her a stack of cheese lava tarts, “Our new product, try it!”

Estelle looked up and smiled, “Thank you!”

“Are you about to start school? Did you quit working at Midnight Bar?” Aimee asked.

Estelle nodded, “I’ve resigned. I’m going home to spend some time with my grandfather before

school starts.”

“Indeed, you should spend some quality time with the elderly Aimee smiled lightly and said, “Taka your time, I’ll go do some work. Your pastries will be packed soon

“Alright!”

Estelle took a sip of her milkshake, slowly chewing on the fruit pieces inside.

Emily came over, sat across from her, and propped her face in her hands, looking cute and toy. “When are you going back to C City?”

“I booked a ticket for tomorrow afternoon,” Estelle said with a smile.

Emily pouted, “We won’t see each other for so many days! Tonight, I’ll buy some gifts for you to take home to your grandfather.”

Estelle laughed, “No need, we have everything at home.”

“What you have is yours, what I buy is my gesture,” Emily said with a coy smile, “Don’t you refuse me!” Estelle had no choice but to accept, “Thank you on behalf of my grandpa!”

Emily said, “No need to be polite with me!”

The two chatted and laughed for a while. Estelle asked Emily, “Did you tell Aimee I work at Midnight

Bar?”

“No!” Emily shook her head, “Why?”

Estelle smiled and shook her head slowly, “Nothing!”

She turned to look at Aimee, her eyes tender and warm.
