Emily took two days off and today was her first day back at work. Emily was absent–minded all afternoon. When it was time to leave, Rachel came over with a stack of documents, “Emily, are you going to the dinner tonight? If not, sort out these files”
“Huh?” Emily hesitated for a moment, then slowly said. Tm going, but I’ll sort out these files and join you later.”
“Alright, suit yourself Rachel left, swaying her hips, to get dolled up for the evening
After work everyone was chatting about their outfits for the night, except for Emily, who was quietly sitting at her desk, working on the files.
Two colleagues passed by and said with a smile. Emily, stop working and join us!
Emily looked up. “You guys go ahead. I’ll catch up later!”
“Alright, see you there!”
The office gradually quietened down, leaving only Emily still working

Emily placed the sorted files on Rachel’s desk and returned to her seat, staring at the clock as the minutes ticked by, feeling a growing sense of panic.
