Chapter 786

When Josiah woke up, the sun was already up, casting a bright light on his dark bed.

Slowly coming to his senses, Josiah shielded his eyes with his hand as the memories of last night began to seep back. He immediately turned his head to the side.

The spot next to him was empty

He was about to get up when he heard the door open. Instinctively, he shrank back into the covers, pretending to still be asleep

In walks Amiee, eyeing the man on the bed.

Josiah’s heart was racing. He couldn’t fake sleep anymore and had to open his eyes to look towards the door.

Amiee, wearing a nightgown, was leaning against the wall, casually staring at Josiah

Josiah, being stared at like that, blushed instantly. Pulling the blanket up, he stuttered, “G…Good morning.”

“I made breakfast. Get dressed and come eat.”

“Oh!” Josiah practically retreated into his blanket, avoiding eye contact, awkwardly responding.

Without another word, Amiee turned around and left the room.

Only when the door closed did Josiah let out a sigh of relief, realizing his palms were sweaty.

He had totally dominated last night. Usually, he was the one getting thrashed in the game by Amlee. Finally, he had his chance for revenge.

But why did he feel like the one who got thrashed all night the moment morning came?

She seemed more like the victor!

Feeling a bit uneasy, Josiah threw off the blanket and was about to get up to take a shower, when he saw specks of blood on the bed. He froze.

A rush of blood flooded to his heart, causing a whirlwind of emotions within him. He found himself in a state of emotional disarray, unable to discern whether he was overwhelmed with joy or taken aback.

“Hurry up!” Amiee’s impatient voice echoed from the living room.

“Okay!” Josiah responded, heading towards the bathroom.

The water hit him and he felt a stinging pain on his back. He looked in the mirror and saw scratches on his back.

He clenched his teeth, this woman was always so ruthless!

After showering, he went out for breakfast.

Amiee couldn’t cook. She had just heated up some frozen food since she woke up early.

Josiah took a look and frowned, “I’ll make you some eggs.”

“No need, I’m not hungry today.” Amiee handed him a fork.

Josiah looked at Amiee’s expression, trying to decipher if she was happy from her micro expressions?

But he saw nothing.

They sat across from each other. Josiah had never felt so hungry before. He wolfed down his food, finishing half the plate in no time.

Amiee said in a matter-of-fact tone, “It’s almost noon. Go home after eating, and… don’t come back.”

“Oh!” Josiah responded, suddenly looking up at Amiee, asking confusedly, “What do you mean don’t come back?”

Amiee took a sip of water, lowered her head, and emotionlessly said, “I don’t want to continue like this. When I get home, I’ll tell my mom that we’ve broken up. Please tell Mrs. James the same.”

Josiah was stunned, staring blankly at her, “Why?”

His back was still sore, and she was talking about breaking up!
