Chapter 788

It was noon when Morrison picked up Magdalen. On his way home, he received a message from Eagle Valley.

Goshawk texted, “Boss, I want a mission, any mission!”

Estelle texted back while walking, “What’s up with you?”

Goshawk replied, “I got dumped, I can’t believe I got dumped!”

Estelle only responded with, “Oh.”

“Why did she dump me? She was smooching with other guys and I didn’t say anything. She dumped me and I still didn’t say anything. Why did she dump me?” Estelle was stumped.

“She said she doesn’t want me bothering her, so I’ll stay far away from her. I’m going to take a mission and leave J City for good!”

“I’m celebrating, no time!”Estelle replied.

Goshawk urgently said, “Boss! I never asked you for anything. Can’t you help me out? I don’t want a penny of the mission fee. It’s all yours and Blue Hawk’s.”

Estelle leaned against the wooden porch, a chuckle escaping her lips as she retorted, “Why not inquire with Blue Hawk if she’s interested in embarking on a mission during the holidays?”

“Blue Hawk, it’s been a while since we took a mission, aren’t you bored? Let boss accept a mission and you can have my share of the fee.”

Blue Hawk stayed mum.

“Blue Hawk, you’re pretty badass, right? Can you do me a favor? Can you hack that woman’s computer for me, help me get my revenge?” Blue Hawk still didn’t respond.

“Why did she break up with you?” Asked Estelle.

“I have no idea, she dumped me after we slept together. She’s such a bitch!”

“You didn’t want to break up?”

“Who said that? I’ve had enough of her. She’d kiss me and then go on dates with other men. I wish I could’ve dumped her sooner!”

“Then why the outburst?”

“I’m just in a bad mood!”

Estelle went offline, and soon after, Blue Hawk did too.

Josiah arrived at the James family home, boiling with rage.

There were guests at home. Mr. James was busy entertaining in the study, while Mrs. James was in the kitchen with the housekeepers preparing food.

Seeing Josiah, Mrs. James immediately came out of the kitchen and questioned him, “Where have you been? It’s late! Get ready. We’re visiting Amiee’s place this afternoon). Even though you’re not officially engaged yet, it’s still polite to pay a visit.”

Mentioning Amiee, Josiah’s anger flared up again, he coldly said, “I’m not going!”

Mrs. James widened her eyes, “Why aren’t you going?”

Josiah wanted to say that he and Amiee had broken up but couldn’t spit out the words.

She appeared erratic, willingly sharing a night of intimacy with him, only to spew nonsensical talk of breaking up the following morning.

Mrs. James asked urgently, “What happened between you and Amiee?”

Josiah took a gulp of cold water, trying to calm himself, then said lightly, “We saw each other this morning. She said she’s busy this afternoon and we don’t need to go.”

Mrs. James was immediately happy, “You were with Amiee this morning? Why didn’t you bring her home? I miss her.”

Josiah snorted, “Why would you miss her? She hardly talks!”

“Don’t talk nonsense!” Mrs. James said coldly, “I like girls like Amiee, steady and quiet. I don’t like those who talk incessantly.”

“Mom!” Josiah turned to Mrs. James, “Are you trying to pair me with Amiee just for the business deal?”

Mrs. James was stunned for a moment, then laughed lightly, “Indeed, our families are in the midst of a business deal. Importantly, Amiee’s uncle is a senior official in B City, which could greatly benefit our future development. In the current business environment, we need to join forces for sustainable growth. If we became in-laws, wouldn’t that be even better?”

Josiah kept his lips tightly closed, remaining silent.

“Why do you ask? Did Amiee say something to you?” Mrs. James tried to probe.
