Chapter 986

Soon, a door closing sound emerged from the now empty video. Someone approached the computer, fingers flying rapidly across the keyboard as they searched for the

surveillance footage.

Everyone stared at the figure on the computer screen, their surprise evident as they all swiveled their heads to look at Clarice.

The figure in the video was a girl, wearing a blue and white striped top, with paste pink nail polish, and a silver heart-shaped ring on her ring finger.

It was Clarice’s assistant, Alice.

Alice took a step back, shaking her head in panic, “This has nothing to do with me. I swear!”

Jonathan’s gaze turned frosty, “If it’s none of your business, then why were you messing with Estelle’s computer?”

“I…I…” Alice stammered, too scared to speak. After a while, she finally explained, “I was just curious about who messed up the dress, so I wanted to check the surveillance footage first.”

Jonathan’s voice was cold, “I’ll ask you again, did you do this?”

Alice started crying, “No, it wasn’t me!”

Jonathan scoffed, “Craig, call the police! The culprit’s fingerprints must be on the damaged dress. It’s worth a fortune, enough to send someone to prison!”

“Right!” Craig answered crisply, taking out his phone to call the police.

“No, don’t call the police!” Alice suddenly shouted, her face pale, “Please don’t call the police, I’ll tell you everything!”

“Did you really do this?” Craig stared at Alice.

Alice, crying out of fear, confessed, “Yes, it was Clarice who made me do it!”

Clarice stood up and slapped Alice, “You’re lying! Who told you to ruin the dress? If you did it, admit it, don’t make stuff up to shift the blame!”

Alice staggered back a few steps, then looked up at Clarice, “You’re the one who told me to do it. You said you hated Estelle and Gwen. You were supposed to look better than Gwen in the scene we were shooting today, but her dress was prettier than yours. You were jealous, so you told me to remove all the diamonds from the dress. Then Gwen wouldn’t have a dress to wear, and you could blame Estelle!”

Clarice stared at Alice in disbelief, “What nonsense are you talking about?”

Alice looked at Estelle, “Everything I said is true. Clarice has told me more than once how much she hates you, because you hit her for no reason.”

Clarice was at a loss for words, because she had indeed said those things.

Gwen had an epiphany, “I was wondering why you didn’t like Estelle. So you two knew each other before?”

Estelle looked at the tearful Alice, “How did you get the key to my wardrobe?”

Ana, the assistant holding the dress, finally rushed to explain, “It was me! Alice and I are good friends. We were having tea together the other day, and I left the key on the table. Alice returned it to me the next morning. She must have made a copy, which is how she was able to ruin the dress last night.”

“Why didn’t you say this earlier?” Craig asked coldly.

Ana choked up, “I didn’t realize it was so serious. I was scared, so I didn’t say anything.”

“I see!” Gwen sighed softly to Jonathan, “They’ve all wronged Estelle!”

Jonathan turned to Mr. Kress, “Mr. Kress, what’s your take on this?”

Mr. Kress was embarrassed, considering he had been blaming Estelle all along, “Since the truth is out, Alice is fired. But Clarice still has a lot of scenes left. I need to report to Mr. Tucker and discuss what to do.”

Clarice instantly cried out, “I told you, it’s not my fault! I might hate Estelle, but I didn’t do anything to hurt her!”
