Chapter 270: Rescue

Chapter 270: Rescue

Chapter 270: Rescue

Meanwhile, Daisy walked out of the three-storied house and soon saw a group of well-armored soldiers lazily standing on the right side grassy garden.

All of them wore metallic helmets, silver armor and held shields and spears in their hands.

As they saw Daisy's arrival, all of them straightened their back, get back in line, and made a salute by thumping their clenched right fist on their chests.

"Greetings, Captain!"

Daisy nodded her head and soon turned her gaze towards a particular black-haired soldier.

"Nathan, go and tell Captain Lawrence and his team to get ready for their next job. My father told me to increase the security in Highness Rhea's mansion."

"Captain Lawrence's team-"

Before Nathan could finish his words, a woman's scream came from the three-storied house, causing him to stop.

"What happened?" Daisy was about to take a step towards the mansion building but stopped.

At that moment, she sensed almost a hundred people were running towards the front yard garden from the other side of the building and frowned.

'Something is not right.' She glanced at her teammates, raised her hand, and signaled them to get ready for any unexpected situation.

After she met the ancient mage, she matured a lot and had long expected betrayals within the family.

No, even her father Vincent told her to be careful of her siblings!

Just as she suspected, multiple screams came from the building within seconds, causing her face to turn pale.

"L-Lord Vincent!" "Assassin!" "Someone killed our Lord!" "I just now saw Daisy walking out of our father's study!" "NOOO!"

Cries and furious shouts echoed within seconds.

'Father!?' Her eyes widened.

She was about to turn around but soon saw her subordinates started gripping their weapons and pointing them towards her.

"C-Captain! Please stay here." Nathan said in a trembling voice.

At that moment, a young man's shout also came from the building entrance.

"You have nowhere to run, Daisy. Surrender yourself!"

Daisy's expression hardened.

"Tyler! Y-You killed our father?" Her eyes turned bloodshot.

'I need to escape!' Countless images of her father appeared in front of her eyes.

She cast a fire wings spell, flapped them forcefully, and shot towards the sky without hesitation.

On the other hand, Tyler coldly snorted before raising his hand, conjured an icy spear out of thin air, and sent it towards her.

Like a bullet, the spear tore through the air and directly landed on her back.

"ARGHH!" Daisy shouted in pain but continued to flap her fire wings.

Within a few seconds, she flew past multiple mansion houses and soon crashed into a random mansion's garden.

Then, she hurriedly stood up, staggered for a moment, and fell.

Her lower half was already drenched in blood, and the ice spear's tip appeared on her abdomen region.

She instantly gripped the ice spear's handle and pulled it out with full force while letting out a painful shout.

'I'm gravely injured! I'm also losing too much blood.' While she was thinking, the mansion guards ran in her direction and soon encircled her.

"Who are you?" One of the guards asked.

But she didn't even have any strength to mutter a word and started to fell backward.

Her body landed on the grassy yard.

She lay on the grass and stared at the clear blue sky with her silvery eyes.

'Is this the end?' A thought appeared in her mind.

Upon seeing her pathetic state, the guards glanced at each other and fell silent.

Meanwhile, a few servants, well-dressed noblewomen, and a brown-haired young man walked out from the three-storied building and stared at the wounded woman.

"Miss Daisy?" The brown-haired young man's eyes widened as he recognized her in an instant.

The young man appeared around 170cm high, had brown hair, and wore a regular black shirt and pants.

He was none other than Titus, who just happened to come to this noble's household to give the invitation letter!

With hurried footsteps, he ran towards her, squatted down a little, and checked her condition.

"Miss Daisy?" He asked.

Simultaneously, he took out a blue vial from his space ring and poured it into her mouth.

It was a very costly life potion which his elder sister gave him for safety purposes.

Although she warned him not to give this to others, he didn't hesitate for a single moment.

'This woman helped us a lot during the past three years. I don't think sis will get angry at me.' He thought.

Meanwhile, Daisy stared at the handsome young man's face and recognized him quickly.

Although Titus was a silent person, he was, after all, one of the disciples of the Ancient Mage!

How could she not recognize him?

"Y-" She tried to say something but soon stopped.

She then hesitated for a moment and gulped down the potion.

The next instant, she felt that her whole body was burning in a flame. But she didn't feel pain, though.

Instead, she felt a strange warmth feeling!

'Healing potion!' Her eyes widened.

"It will take more than an hour for you to recover from the wound." Saying so, Titus took her with both of his hands and stood up.

Then, he turned his gaze towards the dumbfounded soldiers and spoke.

"Please tell Lord Viscount that I've something important to take care of."

Then, he turned around and started walking towards the four-wheeled carriage that parked outside the compound gate.

At that moment, the coachman also hopped on the driver's seat and got ready to go.

Once Titus brought her inside, the coachman whipped the horses and drove the carriage towards Rodsley Street.

By the time Tyler and his subordinates reached the Viscount's mansion, the carriage had long left the street!

Similar incidents started happening to all those nobles who showed support towards Rhea!

Some nobles got betrayed by their children, while the others lost a limb or two.

At that moment, everyone realized that this someone was giving them a warning!

On the other hand, Charles remained in the underground basement and was in the middle of inscribing a runal magic circle.

It was September 29th evening.

While he was working, Jessie visited the underground basement and told him about Vincent's and other nobles' assassination incidents while giving the important materials.

"Where is Daisy now?" Charles asked as he checked the contents in the space ring.

"She is recuperating in the mansion, Teacher. But Elliott family guards had withdrawn from our mansion. Currently, our personal soldiers are the ones who are guarding the mansion." She said in a solemn tone.

'Oh? But why did the other party acts now? Hmm? Omen is getting anxious? Moreover, Daisy seems to be quite a lucky one. If Titus didn't appear in Viscount's mansion, she would have already been captured and then executed by the Elliott family.'

Charles furrowed his brows and soon saw a strange golden ticket in Jessie's hand.

At that moment, she wore a hesitant look and asked.

"Teacher, do you want to attend tomorrow's special auction?"

"Special auction?" Charles asked in curious.

"Yes, Teacher. I heard from Lady Bella that this auction happens only once every 20 years. Moreover, even Rank-4 mages from other kingdoms would come to participate in this auction. Quite a few Rank-4 potions are auctioning this time and I've already saved more than one million gold coins to get a potion this time." Jessie spoke as she recalled the previous auction incident.

"Hmm, I have other plans. You go and participate in my stead and try to get a dexterity potion for me." Charles didn't put much thought into the auction and said.

"Yes, Teacher." Jessie nodded her head.

"Lady Natalia, Rhea, Noel, Your son, and your daughter-in-law are also planning on joining me, Teacher. So, I will be safer this time."

She puffed up her chest and spoke with a proud look on her face.

Meanwhile, a blank look appeared on his face.

'My son? Daughter-in-law? Wait…' A look of realization appeared on his face.

Meanwhile, an old man's laughter echoed in his hand.

'Hahaha, this girl sure is something. Her imaginations are exceeding our expectations.'

The corner of Charles's lips twitched uncontrollably.

Thankfully, he managed to conceal his facial emotions and soon asked.

"When will the auction start?"

"Tomorrow at 7.00 A.M, Teacher. But we are planning to go a little bit early around 5.30 A.M. Otherwise; it will be difficult for us to get seats on the front row." She said.

On the other hand, Charles nodded his head and spoke.

"Good. You can go back and prepare for tomorrow's special auction."

"Yes, Teacher." Jessie nodded her head, turned around, and hurriedly moved out of the underground hall through the stone stairs.

Meanwhile, Charles changed his appearance into his younger self, wore a hooded black dress, and took many scrolls from his space ring.

"I should also give Omen a small warning. Although it is hard to find his original body, I can kill his clones and rattle him a bit."

He opened a random scroll and started reading the information.

"Name: Carson, age: 32, physical appearance: hooded grey eyes, Hawk nose, and olive skin, height: 178 to 180, he is working in Viscount Nicholas's mansion as a butler. Servant room no. 24, Viscount Nicholas's mansion house, 23A Black Street."

"Name: Austin, age: 67, physical appearance: Short black hair, almond brown eyes, Celestial nose, thick eyebrows, round face, and looked around 175 cm high. He is working as Baron Everett's personal steward. Servant room no. 45, Grey Mansion, 102C Rodsley Street."…

After memorizing the contents, he stored those scrolls into his space ring and continued inscribing the magic circle while checking the pocket watch from time to time.

Around 11.30 P.M, Charles stopped his work, stood up from the ground, enveloped his body in a crimson flame, and disappeared from there.

A moment later, Charles appeared on the outside street road, covered his head with a hood, and started walking towards a particular mansion in Rodsley Street.

It was Baron Everett's mansion.
