Chapter 280: Bloodbath

Chapter 280: Bloodbath

The light of dawn seeped into Jessie's room as she stared at the dark sky through the opened window.

Once the light flashed on her delicate skin, she rubbed her bleary eyes and walked to the cotton bed.

'It's time.' Her second consciousness spoke in her head and released all the confidential information about the plan.

The next second, Jessie widened her eyes in surprise.

She then took out a particular silver ring, activated it, and spoke.

"Uncle Colton, move towards the eastern direction. After 30 minutes of marching, you will find a large campsite in the woods. Your job is to raid and kill everyone in the camp."

Meanwhile, Baron Colton got surprised for a moment and responded.

"I'll complete this job, Jessie."

"Good."

Jessie nodded her head, cut off the connection, and shifted her attention towards the next ring.

At that moment, an illusionary figure of a silver-haired woman appeared in the ring.

"Good morning, Countess Violet." Jessie greeted her with a smile and then continued.

"Move to the Dead Swamp region, and you will find a hideout near the lone hill. It's 3 km away from where you guys are camping now. Go there, raid the secret hideout and kill everyone. Watch out for wooden outposts on your way."

Saying so, she cut off the connection and turned her gaze towards the next ring.

For the next few minutes, she activated all other communication rings and sent out different orders to all the enslaved nobles.

Meanwhile, Baron Colton glanced at the ruined temple entrance and soon shifted his gaze towards the nervous soldiers.

He let out a chuckle and then looked in the eastern direction.

"Soldiers, are you guys ready for a small raid?" He asked.

His voice contained a trace of excitement.

At this moment, the bald man took a few steps forward, arrived beside him, and asked.

"Who are we going to attack, My Lord?"

Baron Colton smiled mysteriously and shook his head.

"Don't ask these types of questions, my dear friend. Like you, I'm also just following orders of someone." He deliberated for a moment and then added.

"Everyone should change their clothes into less attractive ones. We are not going to do a frontal attack."

"Are we going to ambush the enemy camp?" A frown appeared on the bald man's forehead.

He knew how hard this mission could turn out if their enemies had anticipated their arrival!

He went silent a moment and spoke with a thoughtful look on his face.

"There must be more than one outpost in each direction, My Lord."

"Yes. That's why I'm going to send you and other Rank-3 Mystics to take care of the outposts." Baron took out a broad sword from his space ring and then added.

"I'll take over the command from now on. Just like the old times, we are going to strike them in one go."

"Yes, My Lord." The bald man nodded his head, brought the remaining Rank-3 Mystics, and advanced deep into the woods.

They stealthily moved for the next few minutes and soon saw two wooden outposts up ahead.

The bald guy made a swift plan and split up his team into two.

Then, both teams stealthily advanced towards the two outposts, attached the enemy soldiers using long-ranged spells and skills, and instantly killed them!

After that, they hid near the outposts and waited for the leading group to arrive.

Meanwhile, Baron Colton led the personal army men and entered deep into the woods while speaking to his soldiers.

"This battle is going to be a tricky one. So, do not hold back and kill anyone who appears in front of you. We are not going to take hostages this time."

"But what if they voluntarily surrender, My Lord?" One of his men asked in confusion.

"Isn't that easy for us?" Baron responded with a smile and continued to walk.

Their team soon met with the bald man and other Rank-3 Mystics and soon saw the enemy corpses.

"There are strange goat skull tattoos on their wrists, My Lord." The army commander pointed it out.

'A goat skull?' A foreboding sensation appeared in Baron Colton's mind.

Soon, he shook his head, took a step forward, and continued to walk.

Their group moved further into the woods and soon saw a large camp encircled by a wooden fence.

Because of the dense woods and shrubs encircling the campsite, none of the enemy men noticed their arrival.

"Our group is too big, My Lord. If we get any closer to the campsite, the enemy will sense our presence." One of the Rank-3 mages whispered to Baron's ears.

Meanwhile, Baron also nodded in approval, turned around, looked at his well-equipped soldiers, and spoke lowly.

"Hyena Formation."

The next instant, all of his elite soldiers held their spears and shields, moved on their own, and grouped up into eleven men teams.

A total of 23 teams appeared in front of his eyes.

Each team had ten ordinary class Mystics and one or two Mages. Although most of them were Rank-1, Baron Colton felt that each team wasn't weaker than an average Rank-3 Mystic.

They had trained for years and were good at co-operating with each other.

As for the Rank-3 Mages and Mystics, they separated from the group and soon arrived behind Baron.

Meanwhile, Baron wore a pleased smile on his round face and ordered in a low voice.

"Team 1 to Team 5 should go to the north side and attack the enemy when I release the signal. Commander Vince will lead this group. Team 6 to Team 10 should go to the south while Team 11 to Team 15 should go to the opposite side." He paused for a moment as he glanced at the two black-cloaked men and added.

"Jeremiah, and Rhett, you two will lead these two groups. As for the rest of us, we will attack the enemy from here."

His voice appeared calm.

Once he finished his words, the separated groups moved in different directions while concealing their presence and soon encircled the campsite from all areas.

Once they reached their positions, they hid behind the bushes and waited for Baron's signal.

Meanwhile, Baron also led the remaining men towards the tall wooden fence, glanced at the nearby young woman, and ordered.

"Release the signal."

"Yes, My Lord."

Saying so, the woman raised her hand, pointed her finger towards the sky, and spoke.

"Flare."

A moment later, a crimson fire flew towards the sky and exploded!

Simultaneously, Baron let out a thundering roar and held his broadsword tighter.

The next second, a strange force appeared from his body and propelled him towards the wooden fence.

At that moment, the soldiers also activated their movement skills and sprinted towards the wooden fence.

Meanwhile, Rank-1 and Rank-2 mages cast their attack magic spells on the wooden fence and destroyed them, giving an opening for the soldiers to break in.

Within a few seconds, tens of armored soldiers and robed mages entered the campsite from different directions and looked around.

Tens of ordinary tents made of leather and hemp canvas appeared all over the place.

They even saw a few large huts at the center of the campsite and got shocked a little.

"Go to the nearby tent and attack them in groups. If you encounter any Rank-3 Mystic, seek help from the nearby team." Baron said in a cold tone and directly marched towards the center of the campsite.

On the other hand, the 23 teams of Mystics split up once again and moved in different directions.

Whenever they encounter enemy soldiers, they didn't hold back and attacked them with full force.

The soldiers tore the leather clothes, barged into the tents, and started their massacre.

If they attacked the campsite during the afternoon or evening, the enemy soldiers would have got some time to at least pick up their weapons.

Unfortunately, most of the enemy soldiers were in a deep sleep.

Although a few of them had long awakened, they were easily outnumbered by Baron's elite soldiers.

Whenever a group of elite team marched into a tent, screams of men and women resounded in seconds.

Before the enemy soldiers could wake up from the shock, the elite soldiers made their first move and killed them.

It was a total massacre!

Due to the surprise attack, most enemy Mystics was entirely off guard and died in the elite soldiers' hands.

Still, quite a few managed to bring out their weapons from their void pouches and retaliated.

Within a few seconds, the whole campsite turned into a battlefield.

At that moment, a few Rank-3 enemy Mystics came out from the center of the campsite and tried to help their men.

Unfortunately, Baron and the other three Rank-3 Mystics anticipated their arrival, intercepted them, and started their battle.

Raging shouts and screams echoed as their weapons clashed against each other.

As time passes, blood splattered from different parts of the campsite, painting the tent clothes.

Casualties occurred on both sides.

Although enemy soldiers were less in numbers, they were boosted by unique [Shadow Killer] Class skills and retaliated with full power.

Some enemy soldiers even disregarded their injuries and rushed towards ordinary soldiers like maniacs.

A bloodbath occurred!
