Chapter 357: Angel of Fire

Charles then walked towards the closed wooden window, opened it forcefully, and soon frowned.

'Hmm? Is someone monitoring this house? Wait. I feel multiple gazes from different directions.'

Even though it was dark outside, he sensed more than five persons were monitoring his house.

But soon, he shook his head, closed the window, and walked out of the bedroom.

Then, he went to the reception hall and sat on a wooden chair placed at the center.

After that, he looked up at the ceiling and fell into deep thoughts.

'I only have 45 days left.' He stayed in the same position for a few minutes and then stood up from the chair.

Then, he created a crimson mask made of pure fire and wore it over his face.

Simultaneously, he returned to his original self and changed his skin color into a red one.

After that, he also changed his hair color, eye color, and so on.

Once he disguised himself as a Paragon, he enveloped his body in a crimson flame and disappeared from there.

…

Senna Street, Aurora Land, First District, City of Red.

At this moment, a Red Human man in his late fifties stood on a two-storied building's rooftop and looked at the sky with a deep look on his face.

He had mixed brown hair, a muscular body, a rough face, and a sharp nose. He wore a simple black robe and held a letter in his hand.

His name was Spider, and he controls a particular part of the First District!

Unlike the Royal District and the Second District, the First District had five segments.

They were Aurora Land, Vermillion Section, Arch Domain, King's Land, and the Ashland.

These lands were under the control of Warlords, and they were the true rulers of the First District.

One of such Warlords was Spider.

No one knows his real name, but he came to this Aurora Land a few decades ago and killed the previous Warlord before snatching his position.

The only thing the public know of him was that he was a half-paragon.

After snatching the Warlord position, he crushed all the unruly thieves and criminals and forced them to work for him.

He oversees all the illegal businesses and controls the Aurora Land like a true monarch!

Although he looked older, he was one of the powerful Helpers in the whole City.

Some say that he already entered the realm of Rank-5, but no one knows the truth.

He was a Warlord with a mysterious background.

As for why he was standing at the terrace of a random building? It was due to a mysterious letter.

A few hours ago, a random slum child came to his house and gave this letter to him.

Upon reading the letter, he learned that someone was seeking his help.

Spider also noticed a strange imprint attached to it and got shocked a little.

In truth, Charles added his soul imprint and revealed a bit of his strength.

'The one who sent this letter is a Rank-5!' Warlord Spider was sure of the other party's strength.

While he was in deep thoughts, he sensed a spatial fluctuation from the right side and got startled.

Although most Red Humans and other races relied on fire magic, they weren't clueless about the other elements.

Some unique beings were born with different elemental affinities in many parts of this World and could cast similar spells.

Spider also knew that the mysterious Sacred Humans were among them!

'No good.'

He instantly waved his hand, conjured a flame whip, and held it in his hand.

Simultaneously, he created a golden shield with fire magic and cautiously stared in a particular direction.

'A Sacred Human?' Confusion, anxiety, alarm, and even fear appeared on his face.

When he was in the Royal District, he learned some information about them and knew they were powerful beings.

Although Paragons could cast 6 to 9 bloodline spells, they still feared one particular group.

They were called Sacred Humans.

'A true bunch of monsters… They also have the blessing of Fire God.'

As those thoughts whirled in his mind, he saw a crimson humanoid flame formed in front of him and soon transformed into a figure of a Red Human.

He had short crimson hair, black eyes, an oval face, and appeared to be around 25 to 30 years old.

Currently, he wore a red-lined black dress, leather shoes and looked 180 cm high.

Spider calmly analyzed the guest, looked into his strange black eyes, and soon froze.

At that moment, an indescribable feeling of terror appeared in his mind.

The pair of black eyes appeared pure like gems.

Just when Spider was about to ask a question, he felt strange dizziness.

Before he could think of the reason for the dizziness, he returned to normal and noticed a difference.

Unlike before, he sensed a terrifying aura oozed out of the guest and trembled uncontrollably.

A second later, his legs went limp, his thoughts became disarray, and he couldn't even breathe!

'W-What is happening?' Panic surfaced on his face.

He tried his best, looked up at the unknown young man, and was about to say something but couldn't.

It was as if something invisible was stopping him from speaking!

At that moment, he saw an illusionary figure of a Fire Bird appeared behind that person and became dumbfounded.

He knew that it was neither an incarnation nor an illusion.

Upon seeing the Fire Bird, he felt sacredness, pureness, respect, and other kinds of emotions.

It appeared majestic and domineering.

A single thought surfaced in his mind.

'God!'

In truth, Charles had long cast the [Curse of the Overlord] spell on Spider and started manipulating his inner thoughts from the very beginning!

The Rank-5 spell altered each of his thoughts and made him think of Charles as a God-like entity!

While Spider looked at him with reverence, Charles calmly stepped on the floor and walked towards him.

But whenever he took a step forward, Spider felt that the invisible pressure on his body also increased exponentially!

Just when Spider thought that he was going to die, a clear voice echoed in his ears.

"You have the strength to face death, Mortal. Stand up."

As those words ended, he sensed the invisible power started to vanish and soon disappeared from the surroundings!

Still, Spider didn't dare to raise his head and trembled in fear and anxiety.

He soon woke up from the uncontrollable fear and asked while keeping his gaze lower.

"M-May I know your sacred name, Divine One?"

On the other hand, Charles wore a pleased smile and answered in a carefree tone.

"Name, huh. I'm nothing but a messenger of our Guardian Deity, mortal. Just call me whatever you want."

His voice echoed in Spider's ears like divine words!

Unknowingly, a strange set of words also mingled with those earlier words and soon engraved in the depths of his mind.

"Angel of Fire!" His eyes widened as he muttered out loud and then knelt on the floor.
