Chapter 401 The Human World!
- Alabama, The United States of America.
In the middle of a cool November morning, a handsome young man and nine gorgeous women suddenly appeared from out of nowhere as if by magic. The man was unnaturally charming, with wavy hair dyed red and black glasses that made him seem more studious than some kind of playboy. It made him seem approachable, kind, and drew no small amount of attention from onlookers.
The women beside him were all incredibly beautiful and elicited just as much attention, with most of them looking like foreigners with bodies so curvaceous that they had to have gone to see Dr. Miami at one point in their lives. The man leaned over the railing overlooking the riverfront below and inhaled a large breath of cool morning air as he smiled brighter than any sun in the sky. "I'm really back... This is fucking crazy."
"Umm... husband?"
Carter looked over his shoulder at Bekka, who was wearing a pair of black tights and a grey hoodie cut into a crop top that exposed her perfectly toned abs.
She had changed her hair back to black and was missing her adorable fluffy ears, and her eyes were hidden behind a pair of dark sunglasses. Her nose was wrinkled cutely, as if she had smelled something foul in the air and it was about to knock her unconscious. Coincidentally, all the rest of his wives were making similar faces. "Yea? What's the matter?"
Coincidentally, all the rest of his wives were making similar faces. "Yea? What's the matter?"
"Does the air here always feel so... unclean?"
"Yes." he answered without hesitation. "And is there a reason why the atmosphere feels so... depressing?" Eris asked. "There seems to be a lot of negativity around."
Carter didn't really feel anything out of the ordinary for earth at first, but once he put his mind to it, he realized that it was indeed strangely negative.
I mean... more than the normal amount that is. "Excuse me!"
Carter called out to an older man wearing a military uniform and walking hand in hand with his two daughters. "Yea?"
"Sorry to bother you, but can you tell me what the full date is?" he asked
"...It's November 22nd... 2023..." The man muttered as he stared at Carter strangely. How does someone living in this day and age not know the date?
'Is he trying to make some kind of joke? Like in one of those damned Internet videos?' he wondered. The man left surprisingly quickly after that, leaving Carter and his wives alone once again. "Well, there's your answer. It's the middle of the holiday season and people without good family relationships are extra depressed. Plus we're in America and it's about to be an election year. The only people here who aren't miserable are the kind who make others miserable."
The wives nodded as if they understood somewhat, and Carter continued to gaze up into the sky like a wave of memories were rushing back to him.
Some were good. A lot were bad. But for some reason... he felt no animosity towards this place and was living as if he had a blank slate. "Well... What do we do first?" Lailah asked. She had on a simple and more trendy outfit of a pair of black jeans and a sweater that had the writing of some kind of famous brand on it. Carter thought about the answer momentarily before realizing the best steps to take forward in an instant. "Audrina, hide everyone besides Valerie for now and I'll bring you all out later."
"Alright."
Once the girls were in hiding and Valerie was waiting by his side, Carter expanded his senses to cover the entire city in an instant and immediately found what he was looking for. Grabbing Valerie's hand, they teleported away in the brief instance where no one was looking at them.
-
The pair appeared in a hospital room with a patient who appeared to be in a vegetative state.
He was hooked up to numerous machines that were monitoring his heart rate oxygen levels, and other vital signs. Valerie's eyes became slightly watery, and Carter wiped her tears away with a small smirk. "What a baby you are..."
"Don't laugh at me, jackass... It's hard for me to see you like this in any incarnation..."
"Sorry, sorry." he said as he kissed her cheek. In the bed lie his original human body, albeit one that was a lot skinnier due to relying solely on a liquid IV for sustenance. With no more soul within his body, he was never going to wake up no matter how much time passed or what miracle medicine they injected into his body. 'Time to come home.'
Carter placed his hand on the remnant shell of himself and absorbed it as if his arm had turned to sludge. Valerie searched the room for his personal effects, and found the clothes he'd been wearing when he was brought in as well as his wallet and cracked phone. Tossing him the last two items, she watched as he frowned slightly like he was disappointed. "What's wrong..?"
"Is this all there is..?" he asked.
"Yea? Is there something missing?"
"My AirPods... I paid a whole two hundred dollars for those things."
"I'm assuming that's a lot..?"
"Equivalent to around seven gold."
"...Are you kidding me?"
"Hey, for an emancipated college student that is enough money to make or break someone."he shrugged. Valerie rolled her eyes and she looked inside of his pants pocket to pull out a small white case in pristine condition. Clearly, it was a very cared for item. "This?"
A black tail with a bladed tip came out of it's own volition as Carter's eyes lit up at the sight of the one precious thing he owned. As Valerie handed it to him, he let his mind wander with the limitless possibilities. "I bet I've missed so much new music... Rod Wave, Giveon, Pierce the Veil, Teddy Swims, Masego, The Internet, Thundercat, J. Cole, Key Glo-"
"Babe!" Valerie yelled. "Focus please."
"I am focusing?"
"On this little mission of ours, not your fascination with human singers."
"Artists." Carter corrected before his eyes immediately went wide. "Speaking of... I have over a year's worth of manga to catch up on...!"
"This nerdy obsessive side of yours would be very infuriating if it weren't so cute." Valerie said begrudgingly. Abaddon smiled as he took hr hand in his. "Alright, alright, we can go now."
"Where are we going exactly?"
"San Francisco, then back here."
"Okay... what's in this San Francisco place?" Abaddon smiled as he told Valerie his plan and she laughed audibly as if she found it all amusing. "Alright then. What do you need me for, love?"
- San Fransisco CA, Wells Fargo Headquarters
In a lavish yet simple executive office, a human man could be seen just coming in with casual attire. He had short yet neatly styled gray hair and wore sleek silver glasses that gave him an intelligent and dignified look. Due to the fact that tomorrow was a holiday, he only had on a light jogging outfit since he hadn't come in to the office to work and only to retrieve something. However, he never expected to find a young couple sitting in the chairs in front of his desk and holding hands. "Glad you finally made it Mr. CEO. I was worried we'd have to go find you at home."
"Nice office by the way!"
The man immediately went on guard as he pressed his back against the wall. "Who are you two?! Why are you in my office?!"
""Deposit."" They said in unison. "Do I look like a teller to you?! Get out or I'll..."
The man's eyes suddenly narrowed as he stared at the two intruders for a long time before coming to a realization. "...What race are you two? Who the hell is bold enough to send you in front of me like this in broad daylight?"
Valerie suddenly leaned over and whispered something into her husband's ear. "Hey honey, what did you say my nationality would be again..?"
"Korean, but I don't think that's what he's asking about exactly." Carter said with a small smirk. He snapped his fingers and the man standing in the doorway and he immediately fell to his knees and started snarling. Dark claws burst from his fingertips, and two very large fangs sprang free from his gums. "Of course a vampire would be the CEO of a bank... You bastards are rich no matter what world it seems." Carter muttered. In truth, he was actually really surprised. This man was a vampire, but his blood was so thin he was practically no different from a human to the dragon god. If it weren't for his eyes and identity as the source of all monsters, he would never have known. After being forced to reveal himself in his true form, the vampire was even more enraged than before. "What have you done to me?! You dare play tricks on a member of the council?! I'll flay you from-"
"Don't be rude."
BANG!
With a thought, Valerie sent the man's head plummeting into the ground and impaled his fangs into the wood flooring. "My husband and I just aren't big fans of people hiding in front of us, you understand? We just wanted everything to be out in the open so we could know whom we were dealing with." Valerie explained. The man continued to snarl as if he were terribly enraged by this entire debacle, and Carter finally let out a sigh. "I guess... Fair is fair."
Gradually, his body became taller and bulkier as his clothes were burned away and replaced by a pair of red pants and a simple sleeveless black shirt. His unnaturally long and vibrant crimson red hair was more luxurious than the finest of silk, and the dark tattoos moving rhythmically across his body gave off a small feeling of danger to the vampire. Dark red claws formed from his fingertips as a large tail came swinging from behind his back and black horns curled out of his head. But the most impactful moment was where his eyes became less human and instead changed into a reptilian blood red, and then violet, and even gold. The vampire was in complete and total disbelief. This man... he was a vision.
To call him beautiful would have been an insult to him, as he was so far beyond such a meager comparison
This man was desire, lust, attraction in all of it's most raw and incomparable of forms. He no longer felt like he was even qualified to look this man in the eye, and he kept his gaze locked firmly on his clawed feet. 'T-T-This can't be... He's a dragon..! A real live dragon...!'
*Trickling noises ensue.*
"Babe..?" Valerie said with a snicker. "...Don't say I-"
"He pissed himself."
"Yes... I noticed that."
