First Demonic Dragon

Chapter 782 I Choose Violence!!

Chapter 782 I Choose Violence!!

Muffled buzzing could be heard in a dark, chilly room.

A hand shot out from underneath a mound of covers and felt around for the source of the agitating noises.

She found the device buried underneath a mound of her pillows and fumbled around with the button to end her alarm.

The mound of blankets and pillows was flipped over and a messy-haired, crusty-eyed Mira rose from the dead.

A small ball of fur descended from the ceiling and hovered in front of her face.

"Good morning, princess!"

"Nugh.."

"Ack!"

Mira snatched the bat out of the air and covered it's mouth.

"Too loud…"Mira drunkenly held a finger up to her lips in a shushing gesture.

"R-Right, sorry then…" Camazotz apologized.

The animal on the floor began to stir.

Entei's mane of dark flame sparked to life, giving the room a slight purple glow.

Now, the princess was definitely awake for good.

Rubbing her eyes, Mira rolled out of bed like an overweight sea lion.

Before she hit the ground, Entei situated his body underneath her to soften her landing.

He then proceeded to carry her into the bathroom while she tried her best to get used to the idea of walking on her own again.

Entei was a well trained doggo.

He knew how to run Mira's bath water and everything.

The beast took special care to make sure that his owner's water wasn't too hot, lest she be uncomfortable, or too warm, lest she fall back asleep.

Once the water was perfectly situated in the middle, Entei suddenly bucked like a bull and flung his owner into the tub without a care.

Mira splashed into the water; wailing like a banshee.

She poked her head out from underneath the surface and spat water out as if she were a stone fountain.

"Entei! You could have at least let me change out of my pajamas first!" She complained.

The beast swiped his paw in the air.

"What do you mean you don't have time for me to drag my feet this morning? What've you got to do that's so important??"

Entei stared back at her dryly.

"…Oh, right… Well you could've been nicer about it." Mira undressed and sank into the water.

Entei huffed.

Mira whirled around; baffled. "What do you mean dad told you that you didn't have to be gentle with me?? Where's your loyalty for the one who feeds you and takes care of you?!"

Entei let out another huff and gestured to his unbrushed fur.

"W-Well when I remember, aren't I good at it?!"

The koma inu could sense that Mira was just going to keep moving the goalpost.

He finally caved and simply nodded -pacifying her for the time being.

Mira finished bathing quickly and wandered back into her room to get dressed.

Camazotz had already laid her clothes out on the bed, and was seemingly quite proud of himself.

A pure white tunic with no sleeves and loose-fitting black skirt with fine gold trimmings down the front and a slit running down the side.

He handed her a set of durable wrappings for her hands and feet.

Entei rustled around the room- seemingly sniffing for something.

He found the object underneath a pile of dirty clothes.

He placed a half-mask into her palm.

Like her tunic, it was an icey white. Bared teeth could be seen twisted into a maniacal smile of nightmarish identity.

Mira waived her hand and the towel around her body was replaced with the clothes on her bed.

Though her mask was the only thing she decided to keep off- a decision that was more of a necessity than personal style.

With Mira dressed and almost ready, she prepared to leave her room when her eyes settled on a white board with a checklist.

Washed up?

She grabbed a marker and made a check mark beside the prompt.

Bed made?

Mira looked over her shoulder at the blatant messy mass of blankets and pillows.

"…."

She wrote another checkmark.

Room decent?

She didn't even bother to look back this time. Just drew another checkmark and kept it pushing.

What are we choosing for the day?

Two choices were left for her to circle.

Kindness.

Violence.

Mira looked down at the mask in her hand and smiled.

Her choice had never been simpler.

She circled the appropriate option and the board shimmered.

A chibi version of her younger and more responsible brother Apophis. No more than an illusion, but cute and endearing all the same.

"You're ready for the day, Big Sister! Give 'em hell!"

In 3,000 years, 'Unongendi' has become a word that carries just as much weight as Euphrates.

Both are organizations that function directly under the overlord and operate solely for the goal of keeping Tehom's darkest denizens inside of Tehom.

Or bringing them back.

Many eons ago, when Abaddon first left the deep dark behind, certain creatures broke out.

Without the weight of his full spiritual pressure keeping the door shut, dozens of named horrors were able to slip out and go into hiding.

Much worse was the fact that they didn't just hide. The horrors schemed.

They seduced mortals into forming secretive societies, cults, and brotherhoods.

In exchange for upholding dark deals and providing obscurity, the creatures are repayed in sacrifices, errands run at their behest, and the general enacting of chaos and strife. Whether seen or unseen.

Their goal is an effective, but simple one.

Either raise an apostle strong enough to do battle with Abaddon and Ayaana, or acquire enough sacrificial power that they difference in power between them has been diminished.

They've yet to find a way to do either.

In his tenure as overlord Abaddon has put down rebellious alien deities, twisted and poor replications of himself, and those who possessed every power underneath the hand of God.

He hadn't been wounded in two million years. He hadn't put down his weapons in two billion. But that didn't mean his enemies stopped trying.

By nature, elder horrors are tenacious and patient. This game would persist as long as they needed it to. None would make them halt before they were ready.

As a general rule of thumb, they stay as far away from the prime reality as possible. They know that this is where Abaddon unconsciously directs most of his focus.

This had always been the established rule, until about two days ago…

There is an island somewhere in Tehom. Few know of it's exact location, and even fewer know how to get there.

Local legends say that women who are weary of the lives they lead and seek to grow, must shed their craving for carnal and gluttonous pleasures and submit themselves into the mercy of the ocean.

The current carries their bodies somewhere impossibly far in just an instant. That is how they reach the island, and the Unongendi.

On this island, the moon is permanently looking down at them.

Glowing luminescent grass encircles a large white compound.

This great structure is the only one on the island, but is grand enough to compare to the Great Dragon's floating castle.

Many women live here, from ages as young as fifteen to as old as 9,000.

Depending on their standing within the fearsome convent, they wear either white or muted brown clothing.

The youngest children can often be seen roaming the grounds, making friends, or reciting vows to themselves and their sisters.

There is also scheduled training, of course. All of this is in preparation for when the young ones turn 200 and can officially undertake the ritual and become Unongendi.

Today, there were no children running about. And the island itself seemed to be dead quiet.

Inside of what appeared to be a monastery, over three hundred women sat in rows of pews; praying fervently.

At the head of the church, there were sixty more women filed neatly into three lines.

Underneath their robes, a glow seemed to be coming from patterns in their very skin.

The faces of these women were covered. They wore pristine white veils not at all dissimilar to the one worn by a certain creation goddess.

As the murmured whispers of prayer filled the hall, a portal opened up, and the day's leader walked into the hall.

The volume in the hall had suddenly been turned up to an eleven, as the intensity of the prayers became enough to tear down walls and break apart mountains.

Mira was a vision.

Her shirt fit her snugly, and was short enough that her toned abs were on full display for all to admire.

Her left leg was almost entirely exposed, with her clawed feet doing nothing to make her any less enchanting.

She was the embodiment of everything that this convent was about.

Her body, though incredible, was not sensual. It was a force of nature with divine purpose and indomitable authority.

Not to be loosely touched by man or woman, but to be shirked away from because none were so worthy to even tread in the wake of her footsteps.

Hence the reason for the Dragon Nun's fervent prayer that could be heard beyond even the confines of this distant island.

"MAY WE WALK ALWAYS IN YOUR MOONLIGHT!"

"MAY WE WALK ALWAYS IN YOUR MOONLIGHT!"

"MAY WE WALK ALWAYS IN YOUR MOONLIGHT!"

She was the Unongendi's pinnacle. Everything that they strive to be.

Named Iramira after the iridescent luster of the ice and snow she creates with a wave of her hand, she is the Great Goddess of the Unongendi and the patron deity of lost, vengeful souls.

And today, she was leaving here on the hunt.
