Chapter 105: Colzen Academy’s Legend Arrives
*LOUD CHEERING*
The Colzen crowd erupted into cheers upon realizing the identity of the person who arrived.
"Crowley! Crowley! Crowley! Crowley! Crowley!"
Shye felt a bit embarrassed upon hearing that everyone was still chanting his name even though he arrived late.
Meanwhile, the frown on Dean Snowcrest's face seems to lessen with every "Crowley!" chant from the Colzen crowd.
The dean was really proud of this student so hearing the Colzen Crowd chant his favorite student's name as if he was some sort of messiah makes his heart tingle, especially after seeing the stern looks on the faces of the Redwood Academy group.
'Hmmph! Take that! Weren't you arrogant earlier? Let's see if you can deal with my best student!' Dean Snowcrest thought to himself as his anger towards Shye vanished into thin smoke.
After a few more moments, the third-year students from Redwood Academy couldn't stand hearing the chants any longer.
They were on the same year level as this guy and upon seeing how famous he was among the students of Colzen Academy, they couldn't help but feel the pangs of jealousy.
Thus, they wanted to teach him a lesson.
The third-year students of Redwood Academy heard quite a bit about him from the conversations of the Colzen Academy students, however, they didn't believe the Colzen students at all.
In their opinion, these students from Colzen Academy were simply exaggerating his strength because he was their pillar of psychological support, hence, if they manage to defeat this guy, the morale of the entire Colzen Academy will crumble.
Fully convinced that Shye was a fraud, a third-year student from Redwood Academy suddenly jumped onto the stage while daydreaming about crushing the hopes and dreams of the Colzen Academy students.
"Hmmph! I'm sick and tired of frauds like you. Many I have encountered and many I have exposed, just count yourself unlucky for being born in the same year level as me!"
The third-year student from Redwood Academy said with a confident expression.
He saw how badly Colzen Academy lost to Orion Academy in the most recent Adventurer Academy competition and he refused to believe that such a mediocre academy that thinks grabbing a top 64 spot is an achievement, could produce such a strong student.
And for this reason, he concluded that Shye was a fraud and he couldn't wait to humiliate him.
'Ohh…How nice would it feel to become the person who ruins the hopes and dreams of an entire academy.' The student thought to himself.
On the other hand, Shye, who was unaware of his opponent's delusions, made eye contact with Dean Snowcrest, and upon getting the confirmation that he was indeed called here to fight, he lazily walked up the stage.
'This little shit...' The student from Redwood Academy was incensed due to how slow and lazy Shye walked up the stage, heck, he was even yawning.
Finally, after a few more seconds, the student couldn't stand his antics anymore so he pointed his dagger toward Shye and said:
"How pretentious…I'm Roi Verdante, a third-year scout course student from Redwood Academy."
"It seems that your ignorant schoolmates think you're strong. Maybe on the standards of mediocre academies but on the standards of a consistent top 64 academy like ours, you're nothing."
Meanwhile, Shye was annoyed after hearing Roi's words.
He hasn't even said anything rude to this Roi guy and the guy immediately starts spouting bullshit towards him?
Unfortunately for Roi, Shye just woke up so he was feeling a bit cranky.
He didn't have the patience to put up with Roi's bullshit right now so he didn't say anything, he just looked at him, drew his sword, and assumed his battle stance.
As for Roi, the delusional guy, he misinterpreted Shye's silence as a sign of fear and so, he grew more confident in the battle.
"Begin!"
Once the referee announced the start of their match, Roi immediately disappeared from his position and reappeared behind Shye.
He then proceeded to thrust his dagger with full force toward Shye's neck.
'Haaah…This opening attack pattern again? Is this a scout course template or something?" Shye thought to himself while inwardly sighing.
Then, just as Roi reappeared behind him, a full-powered [Power Slash Lv.3] was already on its way to cut Roi in half.
"Not good!" Roi exclaimed as he raised his dagger horizontally to block Shye's borderline prophetic attack
Unfortunately for him, how could the frail body of a scout course student tank the full-powered blow of a top-tier warrior student like Shye?
"PUHAAAHK"
Roi spat out blood as his limp body flew across the stage and landed on the ground in front of the Redwood Academy students.
*CHEERS*
The Colzen Academy students cheered wildly after seeing how their ace student, Shye Crowley, defeated his opponent in one move.
This enthusiasm was particularly evident among the freshman students, who were witnessing his strength for the first time.
[Congratulations! You've earned 6400 points!]
'Damn! 6400 points in one easy match?! My schoolmates must've been so down huh?' Shye thought to himself
"Roi!"
Meanwhile, the Redwood Academy students cried out worriedly as they stood up and assessed the condition of their schoolmate, Roi Verdante.
Fortunately, although most of the bones on his body were broken, he would fully recover after drinking around four to five greater health potions.
The thing is, his wallet would probably ache from such an expenditure. However, spending money was better than dying so it wasn't like Roi had any choice.
Once Roi's schoolmates ascertained that he was fine, they looked menacingly towards Shye.
Then one of them volunteered and started to walk towards the stage with a vengeful look in his eyes. However, after taking a few steps, the student who volunteered was stopped by another female student.
"Dave, leave this one to me, I rarely get angry at anyone but this one successfully pissed me off. I'll teach him a lesson on behalf of Redwood Academy."
The student named Dave smiled widely after hearing the words of the female student. He then looked at Shye with schadenfreude as he thought to himself:
"Heh! I've got to hand it to this guy for successfully pissing off Aella, the second-most talented student in the entire history of Redwood Academy. Now, let's see how you fight your way out of this one you pretentious little shit!"
