Chapter 137: In-depth Analyzation

Chapter 137: In-depth Analyzation

As the proud sun starts to descend, a breathtaking spectacle unfolds over Windleton City as the once vibrant blue sky transforms into a canvas of warm hues, with shades of orange, pink, and purple painting the heavens.

Beneath the magnificent sky, a young man was walking, seemingly deep in thought.

His recent huge victory was already at the back of his head as he focused on another important matter: the benefits of upgrading the intelligence attribute.

Although he looked absent-minded as he walked idly in the dimming streets of Windleton City, Shye was actually mentally busy, currently compiling everything he knew about the intelligence attribute.

As per common knowledge, the intelligence attribute increases mana pool and elemental skill damage.

This is the reason why Shye decided to neglect the intelligence and wisdom attributes, since at first glance, it seemed that these two attributes weren't that beneficial to warriors.

However, after his recent experience inside the labyrinth, he found out that the intelligence attribute not only seemed to increase one's problem-solving abilities but also increased a person's decision-making speed.

Due to this, he had to seriously reconsider if he should put the intelligence attribute's importance on the same level as strength, dexterity, agility, stamina, and vitality attributes.

Looking at it closely, the four listed effects, although important, weren't enough for him to put the intelligence attribute on the same level as the five main attributes of a warrior.

While thinking, Shye suddenly thought of one of his skills [Enhanced Reaction Time Lv.2].

'What about reaction time? Isn't it somehow linked to one's brain? If so, then will my reaction time be enhanced if I upgrade the intelligence attribute?'

He pondered as he walked towards the inn they were staying at.

"Oh? Big brother!!"

Shye's thought was cut short as a familiar voice sounded just across the street.

He quickly looked towards the direction of the voice and saw that Maia and Shirley were waving at him with smiles on their faces.

It seems that the two of them grew closer during the times Shye was trapped inside the labyrinth.

Seeing such a warm scene made his heart flutter a bit as he walked closer to the two.

"Yo, where are you two headed?" Shye asked with a warm smile.

"We're going to one of the famous training centers inside Windleton City. I heard they had some advanced training machines that one can use to train their reaction time! There wasn't anything like that in the training centers inside Colzen City so big sis Shirley and I were planning to check the place out."

"Oh? Reaction time training machines? I have something to try regarding reaction times as well so I'll be tagging along"

"Yay! Let's go then! The three of us!"

***

The training center was quite far, around half an hour of walking from the inn so the three of them casually chatted on the way to catch up after being separated for a year and a half.

Upon arrival, the three of them couldn't help but admire the architecture of Black Bull Training Center, one of Windleton City's most commercially successful training centers.

In front of them was a huge state-of-the-art building with intricately carved wall designs giving off a luxurious but vigorous vibe, bright but not blinding lights that elegantly illuminate the entire periphery, and high-quality see-through glass panels allowing onlookers to have a sneak peek of the lively interior of the training center.

Just the atmosphere surrounding the place would make one crave a training session, especially if one is a motivated adventurer.

Lastly, on top of the building was a finely sculpted black bull biting a majestic signboard containing the words "Black Bull Training Center".

The three of them marveled at the sight of the majestic building for a while before managing to reorganize their thoughts and entering the place–eagerness to train visible in their young faces.

"Hello, Welcome to Black Bull Training Center! I'm staff member Gideon, the one who will assist the three of you today. The prices of our training rooms are posted over there." Gideon said as he elegantly waved his hands to guide the three customers toward a huge bulletin board in the corner.

"Thank you, we'll check the prices first and get back to you." Shye replied as the three of them walked towards the bulletin board.

"Let's see…"

Sparring Room - 100 silver coins per hour

Strength training room - 200 silver coins per hour

Agility training room - 200 silver coins per hour

Dexterity training room - 200 silver coins per hour

Vitality training room - 250 silver coins per hour

Stamina training room - 250 silver coins per hour

Mental Fortitude training room - 350 silver coins per hour

Reaction Time training room - 400 silver coins per hour

"Geh…This expensive? 400 silver coins per hour for the renowned reaction time training room huh? Uh oh…" Maia muttered, seemingly wanting to back out after seeing the ridiculous prices of the training rooms.

She really wanted to improve her reaction time since it is one of the most important combat boons for a scout like her but she didn't have the money to even rent the room for three hours so she was quite dejected.

As for Shirley, she took out her coin sack and started counting how many silver coins she had.

She knew that a second-year student like Maia might not afford more than two hours so she wanted to check if she had enough extra funds to provide Maia with an additional two hours of training time.

Upon realizing that her budget wouldn't be enough, Shirley's brows furrowed, seemingly trying to think of a solution.

Seeing their actions, Shye's heart slightly ached as he inwardly vowed to provide better lives for the two of them in the future.

"B-Big brother, sorry, we didn't know that the prices were this high…" Maia said with an apologetic look on her face.

She knew that her big brother was a representative of Colzen Academy so it was quite humiliating for him to back out due to the ridiculous prices, thus, she felt that she dragged her big brother down by taking him to this overpriced training center.

Naturally, Shye wouldn't let them suffer such a humiliation so he simply smiled at Maia and said:

"Hmm? Why are you apologizing? Isn't your big brother here? Come! Tell me! How many hours do you two want to train?"

Hearing what Shye said, the slightly panicked and awkward expression on Maia and Shirley's faces disappeared as their hearts were filled with warmth.

"I want to train for three hours!" Maia unhesitantly said.

As for Shirley, she was quite embarrassed to ask for help even though Shye was her beloved boyfriend so she tried to reject his money thinking that 1200 silver coins for three hours is a huge amount.

She had the money to pay for herself anyway, though she had to live on a tight budget afterward.

"N-No need, I can pay for myself."

Of course, Shye wouldn't let her pay. Not only did he neglect her for one and a half years, but he also didn't buy much stuff for her even before he got trapped.

Thus, after a few minutes of determined persuasion, Shye managed to convince Shirley to let him pay.

"Well then, see you in three hours!" Shye said as he enthusiastically entered his training room, evidently in a good mood.

"O-Okay… See you, big brother…"

"S-See you…"

Meanwhile, Maia and Shirley also entered their respective training rooms with dumbfounded looks on their faces, still dazed and bewildered after Shye easily took out 3600 silver coins as if the huge amount of money was nothing to him.
