Chapter 154: Amarantha vs Springvale
Chapter 154: Amarantha vs Springvale
"Crap! Colzen is the real deal!"
"Another 3-0! They're looking just like the top 16 academies!"
Due to Gray's embarrassing loss, Redwood Academy didn't have the heart to continue fighting.
Dean Aran smartly decided to cut their losses and call the representatives back, choosing to surrender in the two-on-two match lest they just add embarrassment to themselves.
After an impressive win streak all of which were smooth 3-0 victories, the doubters who laughed at the notion of Colzen being a dark horse were forced to pay attention to the rising academy.
Currently, they've already secured a respectable top 64 finish, however, Shye and the others were naturally gunning for the top spots so such a mediocre finish wasn't enough for them.
With minimal celebration upon returning to their academy station, the two deans, the instructors, and the representatives immediately tuned in to the holographic television to watch the intense fight between the substitute representatives of Springvale and Amarantha academies.
The score was currently 2-2 and this fierce battle would decide their next opponent.
Visible on the moderately large holographic screen were two people, a young man and a young woman, both scouts.
The young man who donned a dirty-white and green Springvale Academy uniform had a slender but toned body, long tied-up hair, and average facial features.
Meanwhile, the young woman wore a light-magenta uniform that represented Amarantha Academy, had short blueberry hair, mesmerizing facial features, alluring curves, a bountiful chest, and a perky butt, looking extremely gorgeous.
Based on the developments of the substitute representative duel, it seems that the young woman was narrowly winning.
However, the young man maintained a calm demeanor, looking as if he would be able to handle everything even if the world collapsed on his shoulders today.
After a short break to catch their breaths, the two scout students immediately got back to attacking each other.
Their contrasting styles were like fire and water as the young man's attacks were fast, forceful, and destructive while the young woman's was like water, soft, graceful, and adaptable.
Finally, the young man seemed to become a little frustrated.
After attacking so much, he had a hard time believing that the young woman was still keeping up with his fast-paced attacks.
A single excessive swing of his flaming dagger caused the young man the match as the young woman dodged his attack with frightening precision before counterattacking with a vicious stab towards the young man's neck.
*SPURT*
Blood fountained from the hole in the young man's neck as the defeated representative's body limped to the ground.
It was unknown whether he would live or die.
Such ruthlessness made Wendy swallow a mouthful of saliva as she repeatedly told herself that this was just how cruel the world was and that she had to accept and adapt to it.
Else, she wouldn't last long.
Fortunately, the masterful medics managed to save the life of the young man in time as the crowd went wild after the gorgeous young woman's victory.
"So it's gonna be Amarantha Academy huh…" Dean Privett muttered.
She then immediately ordered everyone to gather around the wooden tables to strategize.
Their next match will decide whether they had the capabilities to grab one of the top eight spots so the two deans didn't dare take a willy-nilly approach.
This wasn't their first time fighting against such strong academies but this was the first time they had an actual chance to defeat them.
Before, they would simply blame themselves for being unlucky when matched up against such academies, however, now, their hearts were blazing with excitement and anticipation.
Be it the deans, the instructors, or the representatives, all of them were raring to pit themselves against strong opponents.
"Everyone, the next match is the last match of the day. It will also decide whether we advance to the championship stage for the first time in the entire history of the academy."
"A firm mountain that stood tall for the last couple of decades is standing in our way in the form of Amarantha Academy"
"Today, we shall make history by flattening that mountain down."
After hearing such bold words of trust from Dean Privett, the Colzen Avengers were pumped up.
Seeing that her short speech managed to achieve the desired effect, the dean immediately materialized a pen and paper out of thin air.
She then started to masterfully scribble words on the small piece of paper for a few seconds and once she was done, she cast some sort of magic to replicate the paper into seven pieces.
Watching someone write was definitely a boring task but the way Dean Privett did it was nothing short of mesmerizing and before they knew it, the papers were already handed to them.
Carlos Andrade (Strongest Representative) - Sorcery gauntlet user, a battle-mage that fights like a warrior, a strong fire element user, good at both close-range and long-range battles, good in dueling every class, great team fight sense, always cool, calm, and collected.
Shenaya Boulders - Tank-type warrior, equipment is top-notch, patient, and steady, does her job of protecting teammates well, decent in duels against archers, scouts, and other warriors, not good in fighting mages, extremely high team fight IQ.
Ryden Thunderclap - warrior (Tachi user), weapon is enchanted with a mid-grade enchantment opal, extremely hot-headed, impatient, and aggressive, good in dueling all classes but bad at team fights.
Ho-bin Rood - Archer (Crossbow user), extremely good in close-range and mid-range battles but still decent in long-range battles, extremely good in two-on-two battles, has a body built for speed.

Shye and the other representatives patiently read all the information regarding their next opponents.
They were so immersed that the gears of their brains kept shifting and turning as they imagined how they would fight each Amarantha representative.
Seeing how focused they were, the two deans smiled and waited for them to finish their thought processes.
Once the representatives were done, their eyes shimmered as a look of determination and anticipation emerged on their young faces.
From the looks of it, their next opponents were the real deal and they couldn't wait to test their mettle against such a competent roster.
