Chapter 192: Conclusion of Colzen Versus Eusford
Chapter 192: Conclusion of Colzen Versus Eusford
'Come on! F*cking die already!'
Harper inwardly raged as he watched Shye who was battered and bruised, struggling to fight against the Colzen Kobold General.
Although Shye's adversary was also badly damaged, there was no way that it would collapse first and unless he was willing to release his two other trump cards, defeating the kobold general was nigh impossible in his current state.
Still, his valiant display made Harper, who already forgot about revenge, nervous.
After all, Harper was also on his last legs.
Once his golden shield times out, he would probably last a few more seconds at most, and sadly, his trump card, the golden shield, was indeed about to time out.
Thus, desperation slowly crept into his heart and at this moment, he wished for nothing more but to see Shye enveloped in an azure ray of light.
Unfortunately, the scene he sincerely wanted to see didn't happen and instead, it was his golden shield who timed out first.
Ironically, when the crowd saw that Harper's shield was gone, it was then that they cheered their lungs out.
Hearing the crowd cheering at his misfortune, Harper felt indignant as he realized that the crowd wanted him to lose.
He wanted to shut all of them up but he was also out of options.
The only thing he could do now was spend the rest of his stamina blocking and dodging the Eusford Kobold General's blows while sincerely praying for Shye to be defeated before him.
Both representatives panted hard in exhaustion and the match was down to its last stretch.
Naturally, such developments made the crowd stand up, visibly on edge due to a mix of excitement and nervousness.
Realizing that their opponents were out of steam, the Kobold Generals went on a rampage, ferociously hacking and slashing their weapons toward their adversaries.
After surviving for a few more minutes, both Shye and Harper were out of everything, be it skills or stamina.
In front of them were lethal glaives, advancing closer and closer with each passing millisecond.
*CLANG*
With the last bits of their energy, Shye and Harper blocked the Kobold Generals' attack.
However, there was an unpleasant discrepancy that happened after both representatives successfully defended.
Shye's greatswords were blown away a few meters away from him while Harper's shield, albeit bent, was still firmly in Harper's grip.
Due to this, it would take the Eusford Kobold General two hits before it could take out Harper while the Colzen Kobold General only needed one hit to defeat Shye.
Seeing the current developments, Harper felt excited and a confident mocking smile returned to his face.
"Hahahaha! After a lot of pretentious acts, in the end, I'm the winner!" Harper loudly mocked as the Kobold Generals once again lunged towards them, aiming to finish the representatives off.
Naturally, Harper focused on the attack of the massive kobold first, temporarily ignoring Shye as he braced for impact.
*CLANG*
A glaive clashed against a shield, sending Harper flying while his shield flew in a different direction.
However, he didn't care, and he couldn't care less.
At this moment, all he cared about was seeing the sweet azure glow of the protective mana barrier sending his opponent out of the main stage.
Unfortunately, as he turned his head and eagerly looked at Shye, his eyes widened.
Instead of an azure ray, what he saw was the Kobold General, petrified on the spot, seemingly trembling in trepidation and hesitating whether to attack Shye, who was fiercely glaring at the massive kobold.
"WHAT THE F*CK ARE YOU DOING?!! KILL HIM!!" shouted Harper.
Of course, the Kobold General wanted to kill Shye but the 200 stacks of [Fear] prevented it from doing so.
While Harper was busy looking at Shye, a massive glaive passed through his neck, sending it flying and rolling on the ground a few meters away.
An azure ray of light then shot out from the left half of the main stage and flew straight towards the Eusford ringside, materializing into an unharmed Harper Blythe shortly after.
Due to the shocking nature of the upset, it took the crowd a few seconds longer than usual before their brains were able to process what happened.
Realizing that Colzen won, the crowd burst into reverberating cheers and applause, continuously chanting "Colzen" as they waved their fists in the air after witnessing the biggest upset of the century.
Naturally, the hero, Shye, was met with enthusiastic high-fives and fistbumps upon returning to the Colzen ringside.
Even his teammates couldn't help but be thoroughly impressed at his heroic performance and ask him tons of questions regarding the Kobold General's hesitation.
"COLZEN ACADEMY SUCCESSFULLY DETHRONES EUSFORD!! SHYE CROWLEY MIRACULOUSLY TURNS THE MATCH AROUND!!"
The commentator's voice trembled as he passionately narrated the end of the Colzen versus Eusford matchup, still in utter disbelief.
He wanted to see Colzen dethrone Eusford and they did.
Just when the commentator was about to speak again, a series of salty jeers erupted from the Eusford crowd.
The way Shye won looked sketchy to them and they wanted an explanation.
Naturally, Harper, who was mortified about his defeat, took this chance and voiced his suspicions.
"The crowd is right! He didn't do anything, yet, the Kobold General willingly let him off!" Harper said, his heart filled with indignance. "I demand an explanation!"
Hearing Harper support their claims, the diehard Eusford fans quickly doubled down and unhesitatingly voiced their suspicions.
Some of them even had the gall to accuse the organizers of playing favorites and helping Colzen win by forcefully stopping the movements of the Kobold General
The situation spiraled out of control, prompting the city lord himself to deal with the situation.
"Everyone, settle down. I, Valenzia's City Lord, swear on the name of the World Adventurer Association that the battle was fair and that we know the reason why the Kobold General suddenly stopped attacking."
"It was due to the Colzen representative, Shye Crowley's semi-passive skill. However, disclosing the effects of the semi-passive skill would be unfair for Colzen Academy since they are still in the competition."
