Chapter 1011 Perfect Partner

Bruce’s scream was so harrowing that every man presented instinctively tightened their legs. They looked at Mandy with newfound respect and slight fear. Soon after, the pain overtook Bruce, causing him to pass out. The man in the blue suit cleared his throat, deliberately avoiding Mandy’s gaze, and quickly directed the men in black beside him to drag Bruce away like a lifeless dog. After they departed, Mandy watched the receding car momentarily before turning to Jack. “Let’s go.” Jack nodded repeatedly. “Of course.” If it weren’t for his taut posture as he walked, Mandy might not have noticed his unease.

As she settled into the passenger seat, Mandy arched an eyebrow and looked at Jack. “Are you afraid of me?” “Of… Of course not,” Jack genuinely wasn’t afraid of Mandy. He was just a little shaken from what he had just witnessed. Mandy chuckled lightly, leaned over, and caressed his face, placing a gentle

kiss. “It’s not too late to have second thoughts now.” Jack sneered instantly. Just as Mandy began to pull away, he held the back of her head and deepened the kiss. “It’s too late now.” He unbuckled Mandy’s seatbelt and pulled her onto his lap. Feeling something solid, Mandy instantly realized something was amiss, but it was already too late. Jack’s fervent kiss landed on the nape of her neck, swiftly melting away all her inhibitions.

After all, no one would come here, so why not… Only when darkness settled did the car slowly depart from the warehouse. Jack had assumed that after that day, Mandy’s mood would be down for a while. But to his surprise, she bounced back the very next day. “For those who don’t matter, there’s no point in dwelling,” Mandy remarked nonchalantly. From the moment she discovered that Bruce had intentionally caused Emma’s death, he no longer had the power to hurt Mandy. Back at home, Mandy confided in Jack about her actions. “I didn’t want to dirty my hands because of Bruce, so I handed him over to his arch-enemy, the man in the blue suit,” Mandy mentioned briefly, and Jack didn’t probe further. Considering they were arch-enemies, Bruce’s fate probably wouldn’t be great. However, the future for him no longer mattered to either of them. After that incident, Mandy seemed to have let go of a heavy burden, appearing much more relaxed. Whenever her eyes sparkled as she told Jack about the bonus she earned that day, he found Mandy exceptionally adorable. It was a behavior that should have come off as mercenary in others, but in Mandy, it always seemed amusing to him. Jack finally understood why everyone said love was blind. Every move Mandy made seemed exceptionally captivating to him. One day, Mandy received an unexpected assignment to accompany Charlotte on a business trip to Civerpool. She called Jack with a hint of regret, letting him know the news. They had planned to dine at a newly opened restaurant that evening, but things didn’t go as expected.

“It’s okay. We can go when you get back,” Jack, already accustomed to Mandy’s unpredictable schedule, reassured her. Mandy was very pleased with this. As long as a man didn’t interfere with her making money, he was the perfect partner. After wrapping up a day of meetings, Charlotte and Mandy initially planned to dine at the venue. However, Charlotte suddenly told her, “I left an important document at the hotel. Could you possibly fetch it for me?” “No worries, I’ll come find you in a bit,” Mandy agreed without hesitation. Charlotte nodded in acknowledgment. Mandy headed back to the hotel after dropping her off near the venue. The document Charlotte mentioned was right in the center of the room, easy to spot. Mandy found it without much effort. However, when she arrived at the venue with the document, she sensed something was off.
