He hesitated as he looked at Charlotte and said, “I know Dad and Mom have done a lot of wrong to you over the years. You probably don’t want to have any ties with us. But we grew up together as siblings. Even if we are not family in the future, we can be friends.”
Charlotte did not respond.
Seeing this, Donny continued, “It’s getting late. How about we have dinner together?”

Donny took Charlotte to CAL Restaurant.
He gently placed the menu in front of Charlotte with a warm smile, “It’s been a long time since I last came here. Why don’t you take a look at what you’d like to eat first?”
After Charlotte randomly ordered a few dishes, the waiter took the menu and left, leaving only the two of them in the private

After a brief silence, Donny began, “Actually, Dad and Mom were supposed to come today.”
Charlotte looked up at him.
Donny forced a wry smile, “Now they realize just how wrong they were back then. They not only betrayed the trust your mother placed in them but also let down the admiration you once held for them.”
Seeing no significant change in Charlotte’s expression, Donny quickly added, “Don’t worry, I didn’t let them come with me. You’ve just learned the truth and must be finding it hard to digest everything. They
can apologize to you once you’ve had some time to process everything.
Charlotte still didn’t comment. Donny didn’t continue on that topic either, but they chatted occasionally, reminiscing about the past.
If Donny hadn’t mentioned Levi and Diana, the dinner would have been relatively harmonious.
After the meal, Donny insisted on taking Charlotte home.

The knife-wielding man didn’t seem to understand Donny’s words. He glanced back at him and suddenly lunged at them with his blade raised.
Charlotte dodged quickly, but the man kept swinging his knife and chased after them relentlessly.
“Watch out!” Donny shouted suddenly, pulling Charlotte to the side and kicking the man’s hand hard.
The man’s dagger fell to the ground, and the security guards who had been waiting for an opportunity rushed up and tied up the assailant.
The man was taken away. Charlotte’s gaze fell on Donny, “You’re hurt!”
Donny, covering his arm, smiled, “I’m fine, are you okay?”
Charlotte looked at him with a complex expression, shaking her head, “I’m fine, you should go see a doctor.”
