Chapter 55 She Was Threatened
Seeing that Levi was surprised, Mia found it ironic.
They thought she was so stupid that she couldn’t even see through their obvious little tricks?
In the past, she had tolerated their schemes, but now she refused to waste any more time.
“Instead of trying to manipulate me here, it would be better for you to find the person who cooperated with you,” Mia said calmly. “By the way, she hasn’t been feeling well recently and is staying in the hospital. When you go, remember to bring her some gifts.”
Levi stared at Mia with a gloomy expression. “It seems that your debating skills have improved a lot in just a few years.”

“Let’s go,” Levi said coldly to Diana, who was standing beside him.
Diana was surprised. “Are you going to let her go so easily?”
Levi sneered, “Do you think causing trouble will be of any use?
She still has the IOU in her hand and knows our weaknesses.”
Levi had underestimated Mia in the past, which was why he had failed this time. But he was determined to defeat her one day.
After Levi and Diana left, Mia went to the ice cream shop to retrieve the two children. She expected them to be scared, but instead, Anna exclaimed excitedly, “Mommy, you’re amazing! You defeated the
bad guys with just a few words! You’re a heroine!”
Mia couldn’t help but smile at her daughter’s words. Though the title “heroine” didn’t sit well with her, it was comforting to know that her children weren’t afraid.
After Levi and Diana left, they went to the hospital to visit Wendy.
“Why are you here?” Wendy asked, surprised. She quickly looked around, fearful of Joe finding out about her contact with the White Family. If he did, they would be in serious trouble.
Levi felt a sense of relief seeing Wendy in such a panic. Finally, he had something to use against her as leverage.
Half an hour later, Levi and Diana left, satisfied with their visit. Wendy was left with a gloomy expression.
She had never anticipated that the White Family, which had been a mere pawn in her game, would dare to strike back. And it was all because of Mia!
If Mia hadn’t suddenly returned, Wendy wouldn’t have faced rejection after rejection. Now, not only was she being threatened by the White Family, but she was also being undermined in every way possible.
Wendy glanced at the phone next to the hospital bed and a plan formed in her mind.
Diana had been silent since they left the hospital. Levi assumed she was still thinking about Mia, so he furrowed his brow and said, “Don’t bother thinking about her if you can’t control her. If I go bankrupt because of you, be prepared for my anger.”
Diana glared at him reproachfully. “What nonsense are you talking about? I’m just wondering about something. When we went to find her, she was with two children. Whose children those are?”
