Chapter 157: Bone Poison
Chapter 157: Bone Poison
Dozens of arrows fell from the sky, raining down on the mountain cobra group.
Ssssh... Hiss...
The two-meter-long mountain cobras slithered swiftly, trying to dodge the arrows as best as they could. The mountain cobras had rock-hard skin, so even if Lina's arrows hit them, only those that struck vital areas could incapacitate the cobras.
"Frost Barrage!" The woman using ice magic stepped forward, quickly chanting a spell.
A number of ice balls formed in the air and shot toward a group of cobras. The ice balls struck them, freezing their massive bodies and slowing their movements, making them easier to take down.
Mr. Kate hovered in the air momentarily before descending rapidly, his sword gleaming, ready to slash one of the level 10 Mountain Cobras that charged forward. In an instant, the cobra's fangs tried to strike Mr. Kate, but deftly, he twisted his body mid-air, evading the deadly attack.
Clang!...
Mr. Kate's greatsword collided with the rocky body of the Mountain Cobra, creating a loud sound, but only a small crack appeared. Kate's eyes narrowed, "You're tough. But this isn't over."
With all his strength, he used his entire body to launch a vertical strike, slashing the cobra's head right at the weak spot between its scales. Thick green blood spurted out, and the creature collapsed to the ground, convulsing before dying.

...
The kill notification rang in Mr. Kate's ears. However, he wasn't complacent; he scanned the area, locked onto his next target, and dashed forward with full confidence, smashing the mountain cobras.
Meanwhile, Lina didn't stop firing her arrows at high speed, aiming her arrows at the eyes of the cobras trying to approach. Sweat dripped down her forehead as she focused her gaze on the level 15 Mountain Cobra that was getting closer.
"This is no ordinary enemy," she murmured softly, reaching for a special arrow from her quiver—a poison-tipped arrow she only used in emergencies.
On the other side of the battlefield, the other team members were beginning to feel the immense pressure. They fought fiercely against the swarm of Mountain Cobras attacking from all directions.
The woman using ice magic, breathing heavily, launched her next attack, "Frost Prison!" she yelled. Larger ice shards than before shot from her hands, forming a frozen wall that trapped several Mountain Cobras inside.
"I need more time to hold them!" she shouted to the rest of the team.
Mr. Kate heard the shout and leaped back into position, protecting the other team members. Before him now stood a level 15 Mountain Cobra, a giant snake larger than the others, with glowing red eyes and bone poison dripping from its fangs.
"Come here, monster," Kate sneered. ????$??¥?$
The cobra swung its tail with lightning speed, but Kate quickly used his defensive maneuver, raising his sword to block the attack. A heavy impact ensued, but Kate held his ground firmly. As the cobra launched a series of attacks, Mr. Kate deftly dodged left and right, looking for an opening amidst the monster's relentless onslaught.
Kate's eyes caught a small movement at the cobra's neck, and he knew this was the perfect moment. Taking a deep breath, he leaped high again, this time activating his signature move.
"Heaven Slash!" Kate shouted loudly.
His sword glowed with a bright red light, absorbing energy from his entire body. In an instant, his attack slashed through the Mountain Cobra right at its vital point, causing a massive explosion around it. Shards of stone and blood splattered in all directions.
However, even though it was slashed, the level 15 Mountain Cobra was still alive, hissing angrily as green venom began to spread from the large wound on its neck. The creature retaliated quickly, spraying bone poison toward Kate.
"Damn it!" Kate jumped back, but the poison hit his left shoulder. A burning sensation spread through his body, and he felt the paralyzing effects quickly taking over. Despite this, he forced himself to move, using his sword as support as his body began to weaken.
"Mr. Kate!" shouted the middle-aged man whose body had transformed into a towering, two-meter humanoid panda with black and white fur. His large claws gripped the Mountain Cobra's tail with ease, swinging it without any sign of fatigue. His gaze focused on Mr. Kate, who looked weakened by the deadly poison spreading through his body.
With a determined look, the panda man tossed the Mountain Cobra's tail aside. Then, without hesitation, he lifted a large rock lying on the ground. His movements were swift and powerful, as if the rock was nothing more than a pebble in his hands.
"Throw it!" he shouted loudly.
The massive rock flew through the air like lightning, closing the distance between him and the cobra that was about to attack Mr. Kate. A loud crash echoed as the rock struck the cobra's head with perfect accuracy. A piercing shriek followed by a sharp hiss filled the air as the Mountain Cobra staggered and fell, writhing before it finally stopped moving.

Even though one threat had been eliminated, dozens of other Mountain Cobras still surrounded the team. Their hisses grew louder, and their red eyes gleamed with a bloodthirsty lust.
"Mr. Kate, are you alright?" asked the panda man as he approached Mr. Kate, who was now kneeling on the ground, his hands trembling from the effects of the poison.
"I... I can manage," replied Mr. Kate in a hoarse voice, struggling to stand. Despite his pale face, a faint smile appeared on his lips. "This poison... it only paralyzes me slightly.
We must hold on, or this will be the end of us all."
With great effort, Mr. Kate pulled a small vial of potion from his bag. He hoped that the potion was strong enough to counteract the effects of the bone poison spreading through his body.
Meanwhile, the other team members continued to fight with relentless determination. Although their bodies were starting to tire and were wounded, they showed no signs of giving up. Their bravery was the last barrier between life and death.
