Chapter 97: Frustrated William Anderson
Chapter 97: Frustrated William Anderson
The lights and stars collided relentlessly, but it wasn't long before the lights disappeared and condensed back into the figure of the man with the black jade.
"Take this."
The man's eyes glowed, and a pair of circular discs appeared in his hands. He gripped them tightly and then ran directly toward William.
"Argh..."
"Come at me!"
William slashed rapidly from the right, then twisted his body slightly upwards to aim for the back of the man's neck. Unfortunately, the man's movements were incredibly flexible. He bent his body, twisting his torso, and saw William's strike as he hovered above.
Slash...
A strike aimed directly at William's abdomen...
Cling...
The protective light from William's defensive gear activated when the man's disc collided. But unfortunately, the disc was so sharp that it pierced through the shield.
Splurt...
The sharp white disc sliced through William's abdomen with ease.
"Argh..."
William's scream of pain echoed as he jumped back to retreat.
"Damn it, what weapon is that in his hand?" William muttered as he pulled out a healing potion from his storage space.
"Hahaha... Have you regained your sanity?"
The man with the black jade laughed in satisfaction, his body language clearly showing that he looked down on William.
Not giving William a chance to catch his breath, the man immediately ran and charged toward William, who was crouched down to drink the healing potion.
Screech... Screech...
Hundreds of black bats attacked the man of light. Each bat he slashed died and exploded into fresh blood that splattered everywhere. But there was something strange about the blood—it was highly corrosive and began eroding the white aura that enveloped his body.
"President... how are you?"
At this moment, an old man with long black hair approached and helped William to stand up.
"I'm fine, Mr. Harrison," William replied calmly. The wound on his stomach was almost fully healed now.
"That person's weapon seems unusual; it even penetrated my defense with ease," William said as he observed the white disc in the hands of the light man.
"Indeed, President, I believe the discs in his hands are artifact items," the old man, Harrison, replied with a tone of dread.
Hearing the word "artifact," William's eyes gleamed with a white light. Yes, he didn't possess a single pure artifact in his hands; at best, he only had pseudo-artifacts.
"Let's attack together, sir; my bats won't last long."
Old man Harrison was already prepared; his bats were almost all dead. He looked at the light man with a frightened gaze.
"Let's go."
William quickly moved again, the stars around him reappearing. He wouldn't foolishly engage in direct combat with that light man.
And so, the fierce battle resumed.

Far away in another realm, a muscular man was climbing a mountain, riding a bear.
Don't be fooled by its appearance; the bear this man was riding was truly majestic, with white fur and lightning energy surrounding it. The muscular man sat comfortably on the bear's back, eating a large deer leg, with a bottle of drink in his right hand, making him quite at ease on the bear's back.
"Umm... delicious."
The man tore into the deer leg with his strong teeth, biting and pulling it sideways with his mouth, leaving a large chunk of meat from the deer leg.
"Eh?"
The man's tearing motion suddenly stopped as he received an emergency message.
- (Yelena) "Mr. President, you've dropped to 10th place. Lein, the leader of the World Market Trade Alliance, has 11,000,000 points."
The message was short and concise, explaining the important information happening at that moment. And from the message, it was clear that it didn't mention the war in Indonesia, proving that the muscular man prioritized ranking information over the alliance's situation.
The muscular man immediately closed the message and opened the leaderboard.
The leaderboard appeared, displaying the ranks of all the rulers in the inter-race war event. The man looked at the leaderboard in silence, even forgetting to bite the deer leg in his hand as he had before.
"Hahaha... amazing!"
The man wasn't angry, sad, or losing his sanity. Instead, he laughed loudly and freely.
"Good... it seems I should make time to meet the main player among Earth's rulers," the muscular man said casually before continuing to eat the deer leg.
The silence of the forest, which had lasted a moment ago, was now shattered, and it returned to normal. The sound of biting and chewing by the muscular man echoed around the forest.

At the Laras family residence, World Market Trade Alliance Island.
"Sister Laras, it seems Brother Lein will be back soon," said Nita to Laras, who wasn't far away.
They were currently at a playground with Laras' younger sibling, Elia. Laras was watching the slide, where a small boy, about eight years old, was standing on top, looking down at her.
"Sister... catch me, okay?"
"Come on, El, I'll catch you."
"Ah... here I come..."
The small boy bravely slid down, lifting both hands in the air freely, shouting with joy.
When he reached the bottom of the slide, Laras caught him and lifted him up.
"Brave boy... El is very courageous."
Laras said as she lifted Elia into the air. Not long after, she put him down and encouraged him to play on another piece of playground equipment.
"Yes, you're right, he'll be back soon. By the way, will Mr. Haikal be back too?" Laras asked.
"Yes, Brother Lein informed us that we should be on the island when he returns. It seems he has something to discuss," Nita replied casually.
"Then how is the situation on Indonesia Island?" Laras asked again. She had already seen the information spreading on social media. They had previously planned to visit Indonesia Island, but knowing that the chaos involved the blood race, they postponed it for a while.
It's not that they lacked the power to face the blood race; they were simply waiting for Lein to return before taking action. With normal thinking, it could be said that the appearance of the blood race in the Indonesian alliance was not the plan of a low-level being.
