Leo assigned Sierra as the new unicorn barn's manager. She would be in charge of handling those pervert thunder unicorns from now on. As for her milking business, Leo got someone else to do the task.

As it had been a while, Leo visited Gao Yan to check on his experiment. He wondered if the guy was still alive after he had eaten Floridian Dantian Pill.

Leo came to Gao Yan's house and knocked on the front door.

A few seconds later, Gao Yan dragged his feet and opened the door. When Gao Yan saw Leo's face, he squinted his brow in a bad mood.

Leo was also surprised. Under Gao Yan's eyes, black bags were visible. The latter looked like someone with insomnia issues.

"How are you doing, boy?"

Gao Yan deeply sighed, "Not good, senior. Could you leave me alone for…like…a month or two? I need some more sleep so that I can digest your pill."

"…Alright. Take your time. Just checking."

Gao Yan nodded and closed the door in front of Leo's face.

Leo didn't mind it. He understood that insomnia patients were usually moody, and Gao Yan might develop that trait. He didn't notice that Gao Yan's cultivation base was on the verge of reaching the soul transformation realm.

Since Gao Yan was okay, Leo moved on to the next work. He opened the shop domain menu and glanced at a certain structure.

Genetic Modification Lab (Super Rare)

Surgeon Automaton (0/20)

Surgeon Skills (0/20)

Genetic Storage (0/20)

Capsule Module (0/20)

Space: 100 x 100.

Cannot be built inside Shopping Mall. Require Fate Crystal Bearer's blood to operate. Max Level: 50.

.

This lab required a lot of space. Curious about its perks and effects, Leo built it in the northern district between the pylon tower and the junkyard.

RUMBLE

The elevated land remained the same, but a trench emerged. The trench passages led to an underground bunker's steel doors.

As usual, whenever a new structure appeared, the local workers rushed in the check it. They gathered around the trench maze and observed it from above.

Leo ignored the curious crowd and walked to the sealed doors. He thought of nuclear bunkers on Earth, which failed to outlast the nuclear fallout era. As he was familiar with how bunkers worked, he strolled toward the gate and leaned toward an eye scanner located on the console at the right side. While he was at it, he upgraded the structure to the current max level, aka level 12.

.

Genetic Modification Lab (Level 12)

Surgeon Automaton (3/20)

Surgeon Skills (5/20)

Genetic Storage (2/20)

Capsule Module (2/20)

Current Usage: None

Genetic Donor: None

The bunker gates opened. Leo waltzed into the bunker's airtight room. Using the console on the side, he shut the doors behind him.

Beyond the airtight room was a lone elevator. Leo entered it and found only two buttons – [G] and [B1].

Leo pressed the B1 button and let the elevator take him to the mysterious land.

.

DING

The doors were opened. Leo looked ahead and walked out of the elevator.

"…Wow."

Although the structure's name was a lab, Leo found a hospital lobby and ICU wards instead. In each room, an empty patient bed and a sci-fi-like bed capsule glittered in gold.

Behind the lobby counter, three mannequins in a lab coat stood up and saluted Leo. Strangely, these guys wore eyeglasses even though their camera lens didn't need such things.

One of the mannequins wrote something on an A4 paper and handed it to Leo. The latter looked at it.

[We need gene samples to work.]

It was a direct request. Leo also had no issue giving them some genes.

"Where do I put the genes and how do I donate mine?"

One of the mannequins brought out a glass vial and pointed at it. Then, he wrote something.

[Put your blood in the vial. We will handle the rest.]

"Oh, nice!"

Leo bit his fingertip and squeezed his transparent blood out. The three overexcited mannequins held their vial and stared at the dripping blood of Leo as if the liquid was a precious treasure.

After filling half the vial, Leo licked his finger to heal it. He also asked them.

"What does this place do? Do you know how this works?"

One of the mannequins wrote on the same paper.

[You can bring any lifeform here to modify their genetics by using the donated samples as a catalyst. The test subjects might obtain a trait or two from the genes if they are lucky.]

Leo almost celebrated as he wished to train some useless employees in his domain to be as strong as him. However, the luck factor sounded suspicious.

"If they are lucky?"

[If they are unlucky or the genes are incompatible with the test subject's DNA, there might be side effects.]

"Such as?"

[Memory loss, permanent paralysis, blindness, random disability, and death.]

"…"

It was worse than Leo had imagined. He also flipped the mannequins as this structure might become useless for a long time.

[The higher the surgeon skills, the lower the mortality rate. Please upgrade us when you can, master.]

"Yeah, good to know. Anyway, if I bring someone here, what is the chance that a side effect might occur?"

[At the current rate, 75%]

"…That's quite high, isn't it?"

[That's because your structure level is too low. Please unlock more max level caps so that we can be more useful to you.]

Leo shook his head. He excused himself and was about to walk away.

But then, Leo turned around. His intrusive thoughts had another sick idea.

"You said that you can modify any lifeform, correct?"

[Yes, master.]

"Can you modify plants, vegetables, or fruits?"

[Yes, master.]

"!!!"

This sounded terrific. Leo rubbed his hands, wondering if these surgeons could transform some of his crops or vegetables into something better.

Testing things out, Leo ejected a yin cabbage from his storage ring and gave it to the three mannequins.

"Let's test it. Can you modify these veggie genes?"

[We can try. Please wait.]

One of the mannequins took the cabbage into a ward. He dropped it into a sleeping capsule and closed the hatch. Then, he fiddled with the console panel.

DING

<Modifying Yin Cabbage Genes…>

<Time Remaining: 59 Seconds…>

The task was strangely quick. Leo crossed his arms and waited for the mannequin to complete the job.

A minute later, the genetic transformation was completed. One of the mannequins opened the bed capsule's hatch and picked up a seed, which was the only remaining thing from the yin cabbage.

The seed glowed in rainbow color just like Leo's aura. He received the seed and inspected it.

.

Low-Grade Seed of Floridian Yin Cabbage

Can only be planted in Basic Farmland or Greenhouse. It takes 12 hours to mature and requires a clean flow of Yin Qi as nutrition.

.

Another item got its name after Leo's origin. He wryly smiled.

"I'll use this building as a research institution from now on, I think. By the way, can you automatically convert more veggies without me?"

The three mannequins nodded and gave Leo a thumbs up.

Leo was relieved. At least, he wouldn't need to visit this place often.

CRACK

CRACK

South of the Floridian Domain, Ivy and Cat led the troops of undead elites home. While they traveled north, the newly recruited undead harvested the souls of dead cultivators in the area and awakened them as mindless skeleton soldiers.

Ivy looked back and frowned.

"Don't make too many. We only need extra laborers at the moment. The battle has long ended."

One of the death knights laughed. "We all need servants. A few wouldn't hurt."

Ivy gave up on them. She turned around and concentrated on getting back before the daybreak.

Meanwhile, Cat was bored. She parted from the group and went back to swimming without telling anybody.

While diving underwater, Cat spotted new marine creatures in the river. One of them was a black lustrous anaconda.

"Nom-Nom Meow <3"

Not caring about danger, Cat chased after the snake.

Several galaxies away from Leo's planet, a lone artificial planet floated freely in the void. Under the radioactive shield of the planet was a civilization.

The population of this planet only consisted of Fenrir Werewolves. They walked around naked on the street, but they all had handheld gadgets, such as smartphones, portable soundcards, or storage boxes.

Among the skyscraper towns, one of them was decorated in neon lights as they embraced the cyber-punk style. Many werewolves wore sunglasses as the bright light on the street hurt their eyes.

In the neon-light city, one of the werewolves sat at a bar counter. He passed a photo of Leo to the bartender.

The werewolf was none other than Anuraku, who once challenged Leo and ran away from the fight. He returned to his home planet for a mission.

The bartender glanced at the photo and muttered. "Who's that Nu'Earthe?"

Anuraku grinned.

"A mutual enemy of our race's overlords."

The bartender scoffed as he didn't care. "What service do you need?"

"Hahaha! Simple. This guy has at least one entity fate crystal, and his home planet hasn't been found yet. I want his home planet's coordination."

"That's a tall call. It will be costly."

"I don't care. Use your system power. I want his coordinate!"

"Alright. If that's what you need."

The bartender collected the photo and counted his fingers. Then, he wrote something on a paper.

Anuraku picked it up. As soon as he saw the price quote, he yelled at the bartender.

"A million years of lifespan?! Are you kidding me?! Do you think I'm a sage or something?!"

The bartender shrugged. "As I said, this job is a tall call. Tracking an entity fate crystal bearer is a challenging job. My price reflects the danger I have to face!"

"TSK!"

Anuraku was annoyed. He stood up and stomped out of the bar. Before he left, he yelled at the bartender.

"You should be grateful that the overlords think highly of you! Had it been others, I would have killed you!"

The bartender shrugged. "Go home, kid. If you want to challenge me, at least get a heavenly fate crystal."

"…"

The werewolf grumbled and slammed the door of the bar.

After Anuraku had left, the bartender transformed from a werewolf into a bald muscular half-African Caucasian human. He tore the photo and rolled his eyes.

"Why should I spend my lifespan to track my fellow countryman?"

The bartender snapped his fingers, and a t-shirt, leather jacket, and a pair of jeans manifested. He put them on and walked to the front door. Then, he put a sign "Close" on it.

DING

However, the door was barged open. A female werewolf kicked it open.

"NU'EARTHE OHIO MAN! THE OVERLORD IS LOOKING FOR YOU!"

The "Ohio Man" turned around and gave the intruder a deep frown.

"We're closed."

"SHUT UP, NU'EARTHE! I SAID OVERLORD MILO IS LOOKING FOR YO-"

CLICK

A 12-gauge shotgun appeared in Ohio Man's hand. He shoved the muzzle into the wolf's mouth.

"One more N-Word, I'll blast your head off."

"…"

Seeing that the wolf stopped barking, Ohio Man pulled his gun back. He then quoted the price.

"A hundred million years of lifespan for one day of service."

"YOU BAST-"

CLICK

Again, the shotgun's muzzle entered the wolf's mouth.

"Pay it or leave it. Choose."

"…"
