Forbidden Zone of the Human Race

Chapter 325

Chapter 325: Instant Kill

Xiang Ning frowned, but not because of the Pale Moon. The Pale Moon was strong indeed, but he had killed one before and was familiar with the breed. He was frowning because there were other people trapped by the beasts.

“Hehe, I think I killed… nineteen Beast Generals. It was a good day.” There was not a single place on Wu Rui’s body left unscathed; fresh blood smeared across his entire body, all over his Roaring Tiger Mk.4 battle armor, which was currently scrap metal.

“Mountain… Crash!” Wu Rui unleashed his attack, but the Silverhorn Wolf before him didn’t die. There was no more strength left in Wu Rui’s body. If he had just a shred of energy, he would have picked up his weapon and fought more. But he really could no longer move. Before he collapsed, he looked at the guy in front of him. Looks like I still fell short of you.

“General! The child is making his move!”

“What’s he doing?!”

Xiang Ning sprinted with Shadowmist Ghost Step, twenty Hunter Mk.4 knives flying out of their sheath to Wu Rui’s side and stabbing into the eyes of the few beasts who were about to attack him.

“Mountain-Splitting Slash!” Xiang Ning struck the Silverhorn Wolf that was about to bite Wu Rui’s neck.

“Brother, what’s wrong with you? If you die, it’ll be no fun for me.” As he spoke, Xiang Ning took out a bottle of healing potion and poured it down Wu Rui’s throat.

“Cough cough cough! That was intense. Do you have any more of this? It’s very good.” Wu Rui could barely open his eyes, which had been glued shut with blood.

Xiang Ning pursed his lips. He only had ten bottles, but most of them were gone by then. And if one downed two bottles in a short time, the effects of the second bottle would be discounted. If Wu Rui could replenish only a third of his strength, it would be enough.

“How are you feeling? Can you walk?”

“Mm, I’m fine. I can fight.”

“You rescue the trapped people, leave me be.”

“No, what’re you doing?”

“There’s no time.” Xiang Ning was done talking.

“Eight Gates! Gate of Origin! Gate of Resting! Gate of Life!”

Status: Tier four, eight-stars martial artist

Xiang Ning’s strength was instantly elevated, so he had enough strength and speed to force the pouncing Pale Moon back with a slash.

The battle had been livestreamed since it had begun. Although the Federation had a huge army, in the face of a true beast invasion, it was impossible to provide a neverending supply of manpower. The livestream served to inform the public of the conditions at the front, evoking a sense of unity among the masses. That, in turn, would encourage more volunteers to enroll. josei

At that moment, the internet had exploded in discussion after witnessing Xiang Ning saving Wu Rui despite being surrounded by beasts. They were in disbelief that they were being protected by a minor like Xiang Ning. Many adults had their own children, and everyone was a child once. Where were they at his age? Where were their children?

“Where’s the damn soldiers? Are there none left? Why aren’t they saving the two kids?!”

“Yeah, why’d they let two children on the battlefield?!”

“It’s too dangerous, those beasts eat humans for breakfast!”

The chat was in chaos.

“Wait, don’t you guys think the person holding the gigantic sword looks familiar?”

Someone realized they had seen Xiang Ning before. He’d gone viral a while back, though his popularity had fallen after a quiet period. At the time, Xiang Ning facing an army of thousands of beasts alone had been shocking enough to leave a lasting impression.

“I think so. He really looks like that guy. It isn’t him, is it?”

“Why isn’t he studying in school? Why’s he in such a dangerous place?”

They didn’t understand, but the scene was already deeply etched into their minds. Xiang Ning looked like a fishing boat in the ocean. So striking, but so small.

What happened next was beyond everyone’s expectations.

“Charging Toss!” Xiang Ning locked his Keen Observation on the Pale Moon. The moment it landed, he activated Charging Toss. Using his current elevated strength, he appeared before it in a blink.

When it saw Xiang Ning attack, it remained calm, twisting the moment it landed and dodging him. It was of royal status amongst the beasts, after all, so it was both stronger and faster than same-tier beasts, plus it was a tier five Beast General. However, it didn’t expect that everything had been calculated by Keen Observation. Xiang Ning flicked his sword upward, proving the common knowledge that wolves were weakest in the waist using the Devourer.

The blade cut three inches deep into the Pale Moon’s left flank. When it touched the beast’s violence-filled blood, the bioweapon obeyed Xiang Ning’s intent and its own instinct, slithering out of the attachment and into the Pale Moon’s body in the form of a gray goo, devouring its blood. But that wasn’t the end. Twelve blades separated themselves from the twenty, flying in formation to attack the Pale Moon’s weak points.

All of that had taken two seconds.

“GET DOWN!” roared Xiang Ning, and the Pale Moon was slammed into the ground. “Gate of Pain! OPEN!”

After he threw the Pale Moon to the ground, its struggle against his Mental Power drained him and he was forced to open another Gate. To be honest, his body was slowly deteriorating from activating his Eight Gates skill so many times over a few days.

Status: Tier five, one-star martial artist

Xiang Ning, who had successfully elevated his status to tier five, pulled out the Devourer, then stabbed it into the Pale Moon’s neck. All twelve blades descended from the sky, nailing it to the ground by its limbs.

The Pale Moon struggled for its life, but couldn’t break free; it couldn’t move at all. It didn’t understand how a human that was smaller than it could do that, nor did it know how Xiang Ning had anticipated everything it’d done, as if he was the one who planned it.

The entire process only took six seconds. Xiang Ning stared at the impaled beast, its tongue sticking out and its eyes still locked on Xiang Ning in death. He expressionlessly twisted his blade and the longsword cut its head off. And just like that, the beast that made many people feel so hopeless was dead in less than five minutes since its appearance.

“Wow! What did he do? What kind of power does he hold?”

“Is he human? Are you sure he’s not just a young-looking thirty-year-old man?”

“That was awesome! Six seconds! A Pale Moon was killed in six seconds!”

Charotis and his team paled, watching the livestream back at the fortress. When they saw Xiang Ning and Wu Rui choose to fight, they had privately mocked them, because to them it was a meaningless sacrifice. Only idiots went, and most would certainly die. He was about to say something when, on screen, Xiang Ning spat a mouthful of blood.

That was unexpected.
