Xia Ning had called President Zheng beforehand and said that she would be sending Zheng Ziming back. So President Zheng did not even go to work today and was waiting for Zheng Ziming at home.
However, seeing his injured son, President Zheng did not have anything good to say. He went up and punched Zheng Ziming directly, and started yelling at him.
Xia Ning stood by the side and raised her eyebrows. She was pretty sure that if Zheng Ziming was not hurt in the head, President Zheng would have slapped him.
“You little bastard. I never stopped you when you were hanging out with girls and racing cars. But you need to be careful. If you wind up dead, you can’t even cry,” President Zheng glared at Zheng Ziming and said with disappointment. “I was not hoping that you would be famous. I just wanted you to stay home and stay out of trouble.”
Zheng Ziming was sitting in the wheelchair and looking at President Zheng. “I did not ask for the car accident!” he said, annoyed.
“Were you the person driving the car or someone else?” President Zheng heard it and got even more upset. “Can’t you just drive less? Even if you are not concerned about yourself, you should think about me and your mother. Why are you still acting like you are three-years-old?”
Hearing this, Zheng Ziming got mad too. “You didn’t care about me when I was young. Now that I’m an adult, you know how to use the name of the father to teach me! So funny. President Zheng, I’m telling you, don’t use whatever you do at work on me! You talk about my mother but when have you ever cared about her or me!”
“What did you say?” President Zheng glared at his son with anger.
Zheng Ziming sneered and looked at President Zheng. “What do you think I just said? If you don’t know, I can remind you one by one!”
“Enough. Ziming!” Xia Ning suddenly stood in between the father and son and interrupted Zheng Ziming. She looked at him and shook her head. “Don’t talk to your father like this.”
Zheng Ziming looked at Xia Ning and his anger calmed down slowly. He turned around and looked somewhere else without facing President Zheng.
President Zheng saw him like this and felt extremely angry in his heart.
Xia Ning turned around and looked at President Zheng. “Ziming was involved in the accident because of me. I should be the one apologizing. He’s not in a good mood, so his words are not good. But please don’t mind. He has his parents in his heart.”
President Zheng looked at the calm girl in front of him and calmed down a little. But he still said, “Miss Xia, no need to speak for him. I know exactly what he’s like.”
“I’m not really speaking for him.” Xia Ning smiled slightly. “President Zheng, you should call me Xia Ning, just like when we are in the company. I’m just your employee and a junior.”
President Zheng nodded. “If so, don’t call me President Zheng, call me Uncle Zheng.”
“Sure, Uncle Zheng,” Xia Ning said with a smile.
President Zheng nodded and darted a look at Zheng Ziming. “Go up and see your mother. Because of your car accident, she got badly ill. She has just gotten more stable in the past couple of days.”
Zheng Ziming heard this and looked panicked at once. He darted a look at Xia Ning. “Asteria...”
“You should go. I’ll go back myself.” Xia Ning nodded.
Zheng Ziming knew his mother did not like Xia Ning and could not really bring her up. He nodded at her and walked up with his crutches. The servants saw that and helped him up directly.
Seeing Zheng Ziming’s back, President Zheng said suddenly, “He’s all grown up.”
“Yeah, people mature as time passes,” Xia Ning said with a smile.
President Zheng heard that and looked at Xia Ning. “Thank you, Miss Su Ke.”
