Chapter 472: Is He Really That Good?
Xia Ning was shocked. She stared at the man with dark hair and coldness around him. His words were as overbearing as his kiss.
She closed her eyes slightly so that she could avoid his eyes. Someone said the eyes were the windows of the heart. Through the eyes, you can see the real side of the person.
“What about me marrying him?” Xia Ning said in a low voice. She curled her lips.”That’s my life! What does it have to do with you? Are you going to be the overbearing boss and take him on? If that’s the case, I really underestimated you.”
“You are right. Whoever dares to marry you, I will do anything to stop him from being with you. I’ll knock him down so that he’ll never be able to recover,” Qiao Yu looked at Xia Ning and said in a deep voice. “I’ll do what I say!”
“You are so horribly childish!” Xia Ning opened her eyes, glaring at Qiao Yu.
“You ran into my life first, so I should make the decision about whether you can leave or not!” Qiao Yu said in a low voice.
Xia Ning curled her lips, her face filled with irony. “Don’t forget, you asked me to leave back then.”
“I regret it!”
“Can the word regret make up for everything?” Xia Ning felt her heart aching. Why could he not understand that once something was missed, it was gone forever?
“We still have Enoch. What do you have with that person? Xia Ning, don’t do things that you’ll regret later!” Qiao Yu said in a low voice.
Don’t do things that you’ll regret later? Xia Ning laughed suddenly. She leaned against the wall and looked up at the tall man. “The thing that I regret the most in my life is that I fell for you and married you. Don’t make me say worse things.”
“Is he really that good?” Qiao Yu squinted his eyes which was full of anger that was about to erupt. For that person, she denied the past they had and the kid they had.
“Yes, he is good, much better than you. If my life before was in the dark, then he gave me the light. Real light. Unlike you. You were just for that moment.” Xia Ning looked at Qiao Yu. “Tomorrow, I’ll leave your place. Qiao Yu, I said this before, the kid is not going to change my decisions. And you forced me to leave tomorrow. You make me feel in danger.” As she finished, she pushed the person next to her away and walked towards the entrance.
Qiao Yu looked at Xia Ning’s back, his face extremely dark.
“What if I told you I did not want to use Enoch to keep you? I just want you to...”
The rest of the words was gone in the night wind. Xia Ning walked to the bathroom on the second floor. Seeing the blood dried on her lips, she put on a vague but bitter smile.
Why were they always fighting over this topic? It was so easy for him to say to get back together. He would never know the pain in her heart. With that shadow in her heart, she would never have a future with him. That was the demon in her heart.
When it was time for bed, Xia Ning stayed in the guest room. For one thing, she did not want to wake Enoch. For another, she did not want to face Qiao Yu anymore. She stayed in the balcony for an entire night and so did the other person.
For them, it was meant to be a sleepless night.
The next morning, Xia Ning said goodbye to Gao Wanhua at breakfast.
Enoch’s eyes were watery, staring at Xia Ning.
Xia Ning patted on his head and comforted him, “Mummy has to go back to work. Otherwise, they’ll fire me and I’ll have no job.”
Gao Wanhua darted a look at her son who was sitting on the side not saying anything. She knew vaguely that they fought again. Otherwise, Xia Ning would not have wanted to leave so abruptly.
“Sure, work is important.” Gao Wanhua nodded to Xia Ning. She then turned to Enoch. “When your Mummy is done with work, she’ll come back and visit. You can call her when she’s at work.”
Enoch tried hard to hold back his tears. He was looking at Xia Ning.
Xia Ning nodded and said with a smile. “Mummy will call you a lot!”
Bam! Qiao Yu put down the bowl suddenly. He looked at Enoch and said, “Why are you crying? Your mum was not with you before. Weren’t you okay back then?”
