Chapter 91: Ruin Dungeon
Chapter 91: Ruin Dungeon
Oh, information about the event has been released.
?Halloween Party – ~A Night of Blasphemy and Sanctity~?
This year, join your friends for a Halloween party in a foreign land!
Raise a fire to ward off evil, and celebrate the harvest!
Amidst all the festivities, there are some suspicious items to be found here and there…
The fourth official event, in October, is the Halloween party.
It will be held on the third Saturday of October, starting at 13:00, so make sure you are free.
Like in the second event, in-game acceleration will be active. This event will be a city event. As a matter of course, problems will pop up, so do your best to solve them.
The same event area will be run as several separate instances, with participants spread between them, so please do not forget to form a party on the day.
The origin of Halloween is the expelling of evil spirits and the harvest festival, so we will also be running a related campaign.
During this period, a bonus will be added for collection skills such as «Collecting», «Mining», «Logging», «Fishing» and «Farming».
Let's harvest a lot!
The title this time has a hint of the Cthulhu setting, but I wonder. ‘Blasphemy' is a word that is not used much, right?
Well, that's something to look forward to on the day of the event. A city event. So it's mainly in the city. Being able to collect information will be required. And problem-solving skills. The easiest way to get information is to help people.
In this game, there are occupations….is it possible to use them to your advantage? If you fail, you'll be seen as an unpleasant type that pushes people around with power, so it'll be pretty difficult.
"Home~"
After returning from school and relaxing a little, it is time to log in.
"Any problems?"
"Not really. The gardener says the tea trees have stabilised."
So they stabilised. Now, what should I do?
Green tea and black tea have different methods for processing the tea leaves. In other words, if you ignore the compatibility of the tea tree varieties, you can make green tea, black tea and even oolong tea.
Well, I'm planning to make black tea here, because I prefer it…however, the question is how to do the actual processing. In my case, if I collect the tea leaves with the «Cook» skill activated, I will get the unprocessed leaves. If you have the skill for processing, you can get the raw leaves. «Farming» probably also lets you obtain the unprocessed leaves.
If you disable the relevant skill, you will get the processed leaves. It is a choice of which tea leaves. It is easier, but the quality of the tea is fixed to C.
When the related skill is enabled, the quality of the fresh leaves depends on the condition of the field. Even if the condition of the field is good, with the skill disabled, the quality is C. If the condition of the field is bad, the quality is less than C.
In other words, if you are concerned about the quality of the tea, you need to improve the condition of the field, enable the related skill to get the pre-processed tea, and process it yourself.
To collect the unprocessed leaves, or have them already processed…that is the question.
If I am going to drink it, then I would prefer it taste better. It's a lot of work, but it's not something to be gulped down.
Hm… there are housing facilities for tea leaves…. let's get one.
[Furniture] Fully Automatic Tea Machine Rarity: Ra Quality: C Price: 1,000,000
A set of equipment dedicated to the production of various types of tea.
Fill it with tea leaves and choose what you want to make.
The quality is affected by the skill of the person who installed it.
Shall we install this? There are machines dedicated to green and black tea, but this is probably the best one at the moment. If there were a dedicated machine that could make higher quality…I would be quite sad…but I cannot see anything about it on the BBS.
"Please have the tea collected in its unprocessed state. I'll make it into tea leaves later."
"Understood."
From an RP perspective, it would be better to increase the quality. The problem is that only friends can come as guests…but I might want to use some as a souvenir.
Speaking of RP, let's go to the Chancellor.
"Chancellor."
"What is it?"
"Tell me how a ruler should behave."
"Hmm? Sire is fine as you are?"
"Is that so?"
"A ruler's behaviour is to be free. You already have the essential points, so there's no problem."
"Elaborate on those points."
"Always be dignified and graceful. A ruler is one who has the charisma to attract others. Simply put, the ability to make others feel comfortable following their will is necessary for a ruler."
A ruler, or king, is a person who deals with people. A leader who gives instruction to and controls others. For such a person…. the charisma that makes others think ‘I want to work for this person' is most important.
"The essential point for being charismatic is to be dignified. No one wants to follow someone who is not confident. A self-confidence that is expressed through words and deeds."
Words and deeds… There are no problems with movement, due to the motion assistance. I have no intention of removing it at this stage.
"Is there any problem with my wording?"
"There are no problems. It is not wording that is important, but the ability to pass on your will. If your speech inspires those below to follow your will, the tone is trivial."
"So will is more important than tone."
"It's not difficult, is it? Sire. As I've said many times before, the ruler is the one who stands above. The more specific you can be when giving orders to your subordinates, the better. If instead of providing detailed instructions, you had a boss that just gave a vague idea…. how different do you think it would be?"
"Oh, I see. The type that doesn't give any specific instructions, but yells when you don't do exactly what they want."
"Right. To achieve what their lord wants with a few instructions, or even beyond that….is required of a servant in that case. If they need to wait for the ruler to give instruction, they're incompetent, so need to be careful."
"If you follow that route, the subordinates would need to be excellent. You would just be a decoration."
"In a worst case scenario, a coup d'etat. An organisation with a charismatic leader is very strong. I don't have much to ask of Sire. As proudly as always, continue to greedily seek power."
"Is it good to seek power?"
"Of course. Justice without power is nonsense…. The victor decides what is right. That's the way of the world. Use all you have to see the will of the Goddess done. Right, the situation with Liselotte was handled well."
I was praised by the Chancellor.
"Ah, however. Be aware that the way you treat your subordinates and the way you treat the Outer Ones is different. Be careful of what you will give up and what you won't. Make sure you know what you're doing."
"I won't move for me personally, but I will accept a fight directed against the Goddess, Outer Ones or Immortals."
"Very well. It is the duty of those who hold a position."
I'll come back from time to time to hear the knowledge of a ruler. It is essential information for RP!
The Great Old Ones….in a way, are the Outer Ones a good example of how a ruler behaves? They're incredibly free, after all. Basically, they can't leave the Medium, but even that's not an absolute.
Well, I'll put aside these thoughts and leave the Chancellor, to spare some time to craft a little.
First, dig from the large vein behind the palace…. No, wait? The upcoming campaign will increase the amount collected, so it's a waste to dig now. It can save up to a week's worth, so I can leave it until Saturday, when the campaign starts.
I'll collect the luminescent plants from the field, which cannot save them up. I haven't asked for the servants to collect from the vein or fields. I want to improve my collecting skills. All I have asked them to manage are the bees and tea trees.
Other players can also hire Residents to do their harvesting. However, since it is ‘hiring', it costs a certain amount of money. Naturally, Residents with higher skills have an increased cost.
The people in the castle don't cost anything to hire, and I don't know if I can call them long-lived….but they've been around long enough that their skills are high. It's a very good advantage.
As for honey, the Gravitas Hive has the same specifications as the ore vein. I think we should stop collecting from there too. Ore and honey are postponed.
Using the Nether materials, including the plants I just gathered from the field, I craft some MP megapots and resurrection potions. I'll also use the honey I have to make Mead of Recollection and lemonade. The mead is just a side note to the lemonade, though.
By the way, mithril has finally started to appear in the vein. It seems that the silver that has been showing up so far has been transformed into magic silver. Ordinary silver is no longer available, but that's fine.
It has a higher magic power aptitude than magic iron does. It's fine to change the base material of attribute metal to this one, but…perhaps I should renew my servant equipment first. At the moment, it's Haltium and three elemental weapons.
No, wait? I should turn it into burial items for Lizzy. I can't equip anything onto a lump of meat, and my main force is Lizzy, so that is the priority of use for the materials. I should check the specifications for burial items.
It's okay that there is only one body and relic….
The burial items… ?Add/Replace Equipment? and ?Material Enhancement?. I'll test various things while taking notes.
Hmm. This is no good. I'll need help from the crafting group. Hmmm… Ertz-san, I think. He's not here yet, so I'll ask him before I go to bed.
I'll do the mining all at once on Saturday, then have the mithril processed. It's still fairly precious, so it's a bit wasteful to do it myself.
My daily crafting routine is finished, and I'm awaiting Ertz-san for testing. So now…I guess I'll go level up until dinner.
I could go south or to a dungeon. If it's a dungeon, I'd rather go to a mechanical dungeon than the one in the north. It's easier when there are a lot of long-range types.
There was a lot of Machinery talk on the forum, so information on the location should have come out….. Here it is.
It is located to the south-east of the Imperial Capital, and has an entrance that looks like an archaeological site.
The enemies seem to be good at searching out intruders, so without enough firepower you will soon be overrun. And many enemies are the shooting type, so if you are surrounded you will be quickly turned into a beehive. Some of their weapons have a long range, so it could be ‘goodbye' before even getting close. Their weaknesses are lightning and ice in addition to blunt attacks. Fire and water are the runner-up.
Speaking of these ‘arm mounted' ones, it seems like the shoulder mounted gun of the one I fought in the hunting event. It had a range of over 100 metres.
Since I can, I'll go to the ruins dungeon. The nearest portal is… Castelgau. And teleport.
Oh….it's quite grand. It's a bit hard to call it a mansion. It's already a castle. A castle that emphasises practicality over beauty. I feel like it's closer to a fort.
Let's take a look at the surroundings while heading north along the main street.
…There is a dungeon in the north, so it is understandable that there are many adventurers….but aren't there a lot of soldiers? There are also those on the main street doing business with such people. It's lively. Aren't there plenty of Machinery?
Ah… it's also surrounded by a very nice, thick wall. Let's ask the gatekeeper.
"Good day. Isn't this quite an impressive wall?"
"Good day. Ma'am. Is this your first time in town?"
"Yes, I just arrived. I'm an Outsider."
"I see. This town was originally a fort."
"Then, that castle is…."
"The former fort… As a result, it looks how it does now."
The forest to the east of here is designated as a danger zone, and the fort was originally its defence base.
Adventurers came here because a dungeon was discovered to the north. Since it was originally a fort, the military was in charge, but they allowed the adventurers to use it as a base to reach the dungeon. It seems they were relied on as a reserve force.
In turn, merchants and others also gathered here, and the one in charge was promoted from military personnel to lord. As a result, the town developed into what it is today…
"From the commander of a fort to a lord. It is quite a big promotion."
"He didn't seem to like it, though. But to begin with, it is all because he allowed the adventurers to stay…."
"But he couldn't say so, because of the military background. The required abilities are quite different, so it must have been a hard time."
"Whether he wanted to or not, it turned out the way it did, so it wasn't a mistake."
"It's hard to believe there's a danger zone just to the east, isn't it?"
"Because there are a lot of people who can fight, it's one of the safer places. As you can see, the walls are also very strong."
It seems better to be near to it, with a lot of fighters, than further away with none. It was originally a defence base, so it is safer here. It would be a different story if it were to move further away, but it's not so easy to move a village or town.
My curiosity has been sated, so let's head for the dungeon. The enemy information was available on the BBS, so I don't need to stop by the union.
I have come to the safety zone of the ruins. ‘Something must have happened'….is the kind of entrance it appears to be. There are evenly spaced stone pillars and a crumbling stone wall.
The statues at the entrance of the dungeon make it easy to recognise.
I wonder….maybe I could use Byakhee as a direct dungeon taxi service, instead of portals. It would make moving around for levels easier. I'll do that next time.
When I enter, I find an artificial looking passage. The dungeon in the north was a normal cave, so the atmosphere is quite different.
Well, the path is quite wide. It's wide enough to give suitable line-of-fire for turning people into beehives. That's good for me.
I'm wary of the Assault Quadruped Type. It's a dog shaped robot that runs at you, fires a shotgun to limit your movement, bites, then hits you with a zero-range shotgun. Because it's a shotgun, it's hard to reflect, or rather, 12 shots come flying at the same time, so it's impossible.
Other than that, there are melee types, so best be careful.
I'd rather leave the doggies to the meat lump…. no, that is not a good match. Armour….or rather, a skeleton. If it's the same as a bow, it's a piercing weapon, so it's a better match. If I think about it realistically, I feel like either it would pass through, doing no damage, or it would be instant death from a direct hit… But it's a game, so best not worry about it. Even if you get decapitated, it's only a critical, not a definite death. …You're basically dead because of the multiplier.
Summon #1 as a custom skeleton tank. Using a mace and large shield, with defensive skills. Since I'm solo, two tanks might be better.
And….two spirit types with «Shadow Magic» are waiting in the air. When a dog comes, attack it with binds and let the tanks take it.
The rest is up to Lizzy.
I'll make sure we have a firm strategy. Don't loiter around too much once we have a target. Obviously, stray bullets are especially dangerous here. I'll go mainly with reflection. Lizzy will attack the first enemy.
That's about it for the safety margin… Okay, let's go. I'm leaving the safety area.
…If it's a skeleton, it's going to step on traps, right? Well, abnormal conditions won't work, so there should not be many problems, if they are not primitive traps like large rocks or logs.
The players have just arrived, so there is only information on the shallow areas. We don't know everything about the shallow parts, so I am hoping I can get some information… The main purpose is to level up, though.
I read that the enemies have a high ability for searching, but… no enemies are coming? Maybe they are clustered up somewhere. It's possible that they have gathered in advance.
Hmm….? There's a small round object on the floor. ….'Beacon' is shown on the display…Beacon? They are mechanical enemies, so something like a beacon can only give me a bad feeling.
I'll tell #1 and Lizzy to be vigilant.
They came. Three dogs. Assault Quadruped Types. They look like metal dogs. About the same size as a medium-sized dog. The tube on their back is probably a shotgun.
Two dogs are taken by pairs of one bones and one spirit. I'll take the other one. Lizzy could take one, but basically hate arts come in a set with large shields.
It's too futile to fight with a shotgun head-on, so I'll go up. If I keep my distance, the shotgun should not be as effective.
The dog is in front of me, while I levitate at an angle with «Coordinate Levitation». Still, it is a mysterious experience to be able to move as if I were on the ground.
Pillars are cast at the bound dogs from three different casters. Damaging the dogs will cause them to split up.
A warning from «Sensing Danger» is displayed once the dog starts running. Immediately afterwards, a shell casing is ejected and falls to the ground, accompanied by a high-pitched sound and a discharge of steam.
Uhh….only a possible range is shown, but not where the actual attack while fly. Yeah, shotguns are impossible.
If only hit indirectly and at a distance, the damage is not great. There is no problem if it is only a few pellets, but it is impossible to aim and reflect them. It's good enough if I can hit back just one or two of the shots that are on a direct course.
And this dog….when its target is in the air, it only has a shotgun for long-range attacks, so it is firing continuously!? Very troublesome!
Although Lizzy is good, the #1 tanks are not so much. It is a magic gun, so the damage seems to be purely magical. With a physical shield….the defence power is nil.
"#1, use [Magic Guard] and [Reflect Shield] to prevent the attacks that are flying at you."
"Kakun."
This should reduce the damage.
This AI usually seems to do well, but it is a bit lacking here. I have not faced many magical enemies, so I hadn't noticed. I think it's time to feed it some orbs and raise the AI level. Adapting to the enemy without instructions….would be nice.
Still…. shotguns are pretty annoying. The shot comes practically all at once. Even if I can see the area the shot will cover, the difficulty is far too high when the actual paths are not displayed until after it is fired.
I have a high magic defence, so if I keep my distance it won't be fatal, but… I wonder if there is a good way to quickly defeat them.
Though it is an armoured type, I do not know if it uses EP or magic power, but if I stick a tentacle in the muzzle of the gun, won't it explode and destroy the weapon in one shot?
No, it might be possible, but there's a more efficient way. Let's try it.
The moment the line-of-fire shows from the muzzle, wrap the tentacles around it. Specifically, the body and the tip of the gun. In other words, force the gun to point towards the dog's neck. It will destroy itself.
Oh, that's a big reduction. This is easy. If I'm up here, it will only attack with the shotgun, firing continuously. If I wrap them up like this, they will die on their own.
Stop the body with a bind, fix the muzzle in place with the tentacles and use pillars to cook them. ….Yeah, it's fast.
With that…there's one left. Lizzy is heading there, so I'll take care of the reinforcements that just arrived.
There is a General-Purpose Firing Type MK.I and a Support Firing Type MK.I.
The general-purpose MK.I is a humanoid type with a handgun. It has a revolver.
The support MK.I ….has four arms and multiple legs. There are six guns, two on each shoulder and one on each arm. It is less bulky than the MK.II seen at the event. The MK.I looks like it might be a rapid fire type.
At any rate, it seems I can finally enjoy myself. Six guns on one body is quite good.
The general type fires from about 80 metres and the support type fires from about 100 metres.
The magic gun has a long range. But since it cannot perform curved shots it might be fair to say the bow has a longer range. Since it is magic power there is no projectile drop, but when it reaches the maximum range it disperses.
Defending against this kind of shooting makes me feel like I'm playing a rhythm game. Bring my weapon to the line at the right time! Like that.
Oh, sorry, you died… And with good timing a new one shows up. I can play again! ….This would normally be quite tiring on my arms.
There is certainly a lot of them showing up. Along with «Sensing Danger» and «Intuition», it's a good opportunity to raise «Kokon Musou», but it's a lot to manage when considering that a single support type is firing six guns. One shot seems to be quite low in terms of firepower, but that's not the point…. I'm lacking enough arms and Athames.
The movement of the arm is probably dependent on agility. Even if it's increased by the set effect of my equipment, it's not enough. Even if I can see it, I can't always reach in time, so I would like to be fast enough to fix that… should I switch my accessories to agility? There is an agility increase on my boots, but considering my base stats, I would like a bit more.
If I were actually able to use the Force, I would be able to anticipate the attacks, but my «Sensing Danger» only warms me from immediately before to just after the attack. A certain amount of speed is absolutely necessary.
Lana said that the tertiary skills are «Foresight» and «Sixth Sense», but they don't seem to have any effect for players, so agility is needed to some extent.
Considering the accessories I have, it is about time for a change. Currently I have two each of dexterity, intelligence and spirit…so maybe change dexterity to agility. Or intelligence to agility.
Magic is based on spirit at the moment, due to «Extreme Magic», so I will not lower my spirit. If possible, I don't want to reduce the Intelligence, but….if I reduce my dexterity, it will directly affect the accuracy of my reflecting.
Considering my basic stats, I should change the intelligence for agility. I'll buy two each of dexterity, agility, and spirit for my next accessories.
In the meantime, quite a few enemies have gathered, so I'll adjust the number of them by moving #1 and Lizzy.
I'm not interested in regular melee enemies, so I'll leave them to the #1 team.
On the first floor, the level range is 41-46. After that, both the minimum and maximum levels increase by one. The confirmed enemies are the Assault Quadruped Type, General-Purpose Melee Type MK.I to MK.III, General-Purpose Firing Type MK.I and the Support Firing Type MK.I.
And now, on the 5th floor, the level range is 50-55. My current level is 43. I can't go any further with my current state. I can't afford to have #1 on standby anymore. I'm still able to hunt, so it's probably a good match. The conditions caused by «Unknown Organisation» feel like they're helping.
Fufu…. it's very tasty. The problem is that the reinforcements keep coming in an uninterrupted battle, so the growth is not applied. It comes at the end of the battle….
I'm looking forward to getting into the third tier skills soon. There's still time until dinner, so let's hunt some more.
From the fifth floor, there are more General-Purpose Firing Type MK.II and III and Support Firing Type MK.II. All of them have different armaments, so there is no problem. If I had to say so, I think there is a change in the numbers that are spawning. Maybe it's just my imagination, but the number of General-Purpose Melee Types is decreasing.
Basically, while reflecting, I am attacking with tentacles and magic. If I can afford to do so, I can sometimes attack with «Serpentine Sword». I am not killing fast enough with reflection alone. In any case, I want to improve my other skills, so it's good. Personally, I am finding this to be a very delicious dungeon.
<Your Race Level has increased.>
<«Serpentine Sword» reached level 15>
<«Serpentine Sword»'s art [Range Extension] was acquired>
[Range Extension]
Extends the range of serpentine swords, ropes, whips, etc. according to the skill level.
Hmm? It seems to be a passive art. The effect is as the name suggests. And it seems very important. It's better to have range than not.
It's a good start. «High-Class Magic Ability» is not far off now, so I want to stick with it until I can turn it into «Super-Class Magic Ability».
Mm…? What's this, a faint high-pitched sound. I can hear it…..over there. Unfortunately I can't see anything, but…. I have a very bad feeling about this.
The high-pitched sound is becoming clearer. So then….it is coming? It seems like the kind of sound an armoured type could make. I haven't seen all the enemies on the fifth floor yet. Maybe a rare enemy.
It's not the same as the jet engine that was on the panjandrum's during the event. Kyin… pashun… kyin… pashun… what is this sound?
If #1 and Lizzy are prepared for battle, then it should be visible in the distance. The sound has changed. As if… yeah, like something is flying….«Sensing Danger» has reacted!
It's a straight line but with a wide range. Is it rushing at me? I take evasive action to get away from the line. It's outside my visible range, so I can't tell how fast it is.
Oh, it's visible…and looks cool!? A complete combat weapon!? It's very romantic!
General-Purpose Elimination Type Lv55
Highly mobile and armed with high firepower, it is designed purely for eradicating its target.
Equipped with a handgun, grenades, a sword and a multi-warhead missile launcher on its shoulder.
Attributes: - Weaknesses: Bashing, Lightning, Ice Resistance: Slashing
Class: Armoured Order: Humanoid
Family: General-Purpose Genus: Elimination
Species: General-Purpose Elimination Type
On the right is the handgun, or is it already a rifle? It has a grenade launcher mounted under the barrel, a sword on the left, and a missile pod on the shoulder. Fully ready for killing.
And it's fast! The strange sound I was hearing was a booster propelling it. It's faster than I imagined. I can't evade in time. I need to use [Gravitas Manoeuvre] to avoid.
Lizzy can avoid it on her own. It's going to be tough for the skeleton #1.
I thought I had managed to avoid it, but it turned in the air with a bang, and «Sensing Danger» is active again. Does it have side thrusters? As expected of a high-mobility type. Firing the side thrusters in the air for a moment, for a high-speed 180 degree direction change…. isn't that a different game?
The line of «Sensing Danger» is from the shoulder. That means…. missiles!
A single missile is fired from the shoulder pod, and the General-Purpose Elimination Type lands where it is with a thud.
«Identification» is showing the enemy's armament as….a multi-warhead missile. Multi-warhead!? Are you crazy?
As if it were a matter of course, the flying missile splits in mid-air. The single «Sensing Danger» line has become a mass of lines as more and more small missiles emerge from inside. They converge and fly towards me.
Ahhhh! Impossible! Although I returned a little, 60% made it through!?
Tanking with [Reflect Shield] is the correct answer…. The missiles are guided. So a magic missile system. As long as I touch them with reflect, even if it is done roughly, they will fly back to the opponent. The problem is that there are too many of them. A multi-warhead missile is pretty much a guided shotgun that explodes when it hits, right? What a joke.
The explosion itself is much smaller than those caused by magic, but it is still painful.
Again, «Sensing Danger», but this time a mountain-like line and a dome of colour. Immediately after, there is a characteristic popping sound.
The grenade launcher. I'll close the distance, hitting the grenade back to the opponent while aiming for where the mountainous line starts.
It leaped backwards with a bang, avoiding the grenade.
Its health was visibly reduced by a few missiles, so it probably has little defensive power, but…. that mobility is unfair.
The easiest way to deal with highly mobile enemies is…. Magic missile.
"[Zex Ra'se Mexa Persepho Apollo]"
Six [Nox Magic Missile]'s, with their power increased through [Critical Control].
The General-Purpose Elimination Type does not move immediately, but attracts the magic before moving with a side thruster. The magic missiles bend to chase the target, but it cannot bend at a right angle, so half of them hit the wall, disappearing.
After moving sideways, the General-Purpose Elimination Type fires its main thruster to propel forwards. In other words, towards me, but then, it blows its side thrusters to face the opposite direction and intercept the remaining magic missiles. Then uses its side thrusters again to face back in this direction.
No way…. What's with those protagonist moves.
Magic missile is guided, but the speed is slow…. Using the boosters, it can easily shake them off. Muu…..
The General-Purpose Elimination Type rushes in and catches Lizzy's axe with its sword, matches the timing to fire its front thrusters and shake her off, then lands a few steps back.
I'll use «Holy Magic» to heal us. However, I feel like I'll die if the missile comes again.
It has a very smart AI. It is obviously only this one that is strange. Is it a rare monster, or a patrolling mid-boss? It's like an elite mob in the field.
Honestly, it's an enemy one should run from on hearing the sound. Too painful.
Spirit type #1 activates a bind and pillar.
But the General-Purpose Elimination Type fully opens its thrusters the moment it is bound. It rips them apart with sheer power, escaping from the pillar immediately. I have to hurry to avoid a collision as it rushes towards me. Binds are no good. It's too dangerous because it can pop out so suddenly. I almost got minced.
Lance spells can be avoided with the side thrusters. So the most effective is… mines on the walls.
The rifle and grenades are reflected, and when it rushes into slash, I put up a [Nox Wall] in front of it.
"What…the.."
With a blast of a thruster it jumps in front of the wall. It turns around in midair, kicks the ceiling, and I have to parry the slash.
I guess the wall was deployed too soon!
Cooperating with spirit type #1, mines are scatted about…. Ah, missiles. Goodbye!
<Incapacitated due to complete HP loss>
<Wait for resurrection / Return to the set resurrection point>
That missile really has no mercy. I should have high magic defence, but do they have an explosion attribute?
I was killed, so #1 and Lizzy have been deported. I was blown away by an explosion, hit the wall and I'm now sleeping at the edge.
….The floor is good!
<«Holy Magic» reached level 25>
<«Holy Magic»'s art [Soul Shield] was acquired>
So «Holy Magic» went up. «Magic Resistance» and «Higher Magic Immunity» have also increased. Is it difficult to improve physical defence here?
Ah…. Anyway, let's go home for now.
In my case, the corpse is not transferred, but melts away on the spot. My field of view flies to the main body.
So, separate from the main body with a new fully armed incarnation. And check the new magic.
[Soul Shield]
Creates a membrane to protect the soul, granting resistance to intimidation, fear, and fascination.
Abnormality resistance magic? I don't need it.
Now, I've got to figure out how to deal with him. That dungeon is very tasty for me. I'd like to hunt there, so I have to be prepared. I didn't have time to think about it because the enemy was moving so fast.
Hmm… Lizzy is embodied with magic, so even if she is defeated there is no loss in capacity, meaning no problem. It only takes an order of magnitude more MP than a normal summon. She hasn't been defeated yet, so I don't know, but there may be a cooldown for re-summoning.
The problem is #1. One large shield and a spirit? Have him move in front of me with [Cover Move] and reflect with [Reflect Shield], when a missile comes. Then have him leave again immediately. The spirit #1 can scatter mines from the sky and interfere with the enemy's actions.
This should be the way to go.
[Cover Move] has a decent cooldown, and that of [Reflect Shield] is quite long. It won't be nice to die to a second missile during the cooldown.
I would like to know the conditions for missiles firing, to stabilise it. If I know the trigger, I can intentionally trigger it, or prevent it during the cooldown.
Honestly, considering the level difference, I should have cancelled the summons and run as soon as I heard the sound. I can easily re-summon once I'm back in a more safe place. However, if I'm going to raise my level there, it's better to defeat it.
Hmm….if I'm going to fight it, I want insurance during the cooldown time.
For the time being….Ertz-san is online, so contact him, then dinner.
After dinner, and various other things before bed, I head to Ertz-san's shop.
"Good day."
"Oh, you're here. You want to test your skills?"
"I was wondering about the specifications of the coffin. I can't even check it without equipment."
We move to the workroom, where the furnace and such are, and I borrow some tin, copper and bronze equipment.
And testing time.
"If I use this for strengthening, I won't be able to take it back out. Well, it's cheap anyway, so can I use it for strengthening?"
"Oh, sure. It's a product of my early skill levelling. Rather, buy it."
It seems that the equipment Lizzy was wearing when still alive is the default equipment, and for appearance too. If I don't like this look, I can disable the default and use ?Add/Replace Equipment? to add new equipment, which will also apply its appearance. So now Lizzy is wearing a complete tin set. The default equipment most probably looks different depending on the body. The performance is probably the same though.
The burial items will be strengthened by putting in equipment or materials.
"You can put in the finished product as is. Or you can use materials?"
"Right. But I can't skip the strengthening order. I can swap tin for copper, but not tin for bronze. It is rejected."
"What is the impact of the product quality?"
"Well, the visible change… is this? Summoning consumes less MP."
"Hm…."
I don't know if this is correct, since it's a crafted product from the start, but it probably is. The defence has also increased.
If a finished product is put in, the number of materials required for strengthening will be reduced. So it's asking for materials for the whole body to begin with.
The adjustment from equipment…depends on the equipment that is put in. If reinforced with materials, it can either remain the same or be enhanced. The change is probably dependent on the material.
If a copper item is enhanced using a bronze material, the quality of the copper equipment is invalidated. The reduced summoning cost has disappeared. Does quality affect this?
If reinforced with high quality materials, there should be some effect, but if you care about quality, you should put in finished equipment.
"It seems that you can change the status of the burial items when strengthening. It seems possible to reassign… No, you can only do that once. You have to pay for more than that. Well, that's common.
"It's a bit of a cliché, huh."
"The number of rerolls seem to be restored when the material is changed, so there is some kindness there."
"For mistakes?"
"Feels like that is the case. By the way, how much is steel now?"
The order for strengthening is tin, copper, bronze, iron, steel, HSS cobalt or magic iron, haltium, lytium.
"Making an alloy of magic iron or magic silver and lytium, gives airil. And then there's pure mithril."
"Airil ingots then."
"It seems airil is used by people who are not too good with magic. Mithril is too soft without magic flowing through it. But if you don't mix it with at least magic iron, you lose the advantage of mithril."
"I've got the money, so I could do it all at once, but I think I'll wait…until I have decided on how to change the stats."
"I think it's better that way."
Steel is equipment from the level 20 range, so it's garbage from the perspective of Lizzy. But steel is still selling, so the price is reasonable.
However, I can't skip over it, so I have no choice. I'll buy it. I'll decide on how to change the stats while changing equipment tomorrow.
I buy the materials up to and including steel from Ertz-san, then head off.
….If I need more materials, I'll have to come back here to buy them, but it can't be helped if that happens.
Time for bed.
