Chapter 283: Heart

Mo Yuhan looked at his phone before calling Mo Jia. The call was answered on the third ring and he spoke up, "No matter what happens, pull yourself together. Remember that you have me and Mo Family to back you up," His tone was calm as he continued, "Be cautious of lecherous men hovering over you," He hung up as soon as he said his part.

He reminded her that she is the Young Miss of Mo Family no matter what.

As for what he said in the latter part, it was to teach his brother-in-law a little lesson. Just because he trusted Tang Yichen, that did not mean that the man could take his sister lightly. If Mo Jia was not insecure, she would have never doubted Tang Yichen and if she was not hurt, she would have never cried.

He walked back to the room before getting changed into comfortable sleepwear. The workload had drained his energy a little bit and it did not take long for him to drift off to dreamland as soon as he spooned the sleeping beauty in his arms.

"Girlfriend?" Mo Jia frowned as she turned to look at Ying Yue, "You thought I was his girlfriend?" Her face was indifferent but her tone was serious as she asked.

Ying Yue felt like glaring at Mo Zihan for revealing it to his sister but then again, she indeed thought like that. The fact that he had a twin sister completely flew out of her mind.

She was anything but a coward. She looked back at Mo Jia before speaking calmly, "I indeed misunderstood the situation," she spoke like a guilty kid.

Mo Jia burst out in laughter. In the whole day, it was the first time her expressions were not solemn as she laughed heartily.

Nian Zhen and Mo Zihan smiled looking at the rare happiness on her face.

"Err...I'm sorry about that," Mo Jia's expression turned back to her stoic one, "I could not control my emotions since my brother has been single since his birth," She said looking at Ying Yue who wore a confused expression on her face.

"Pfft.." Luckily she was not drinking anything or else she would have choked on it.

Mo Zihan: "_" Were you any better than me?

He sulked but did not reply while Ying Yue was having a hard time controlling her laughter. 

Mo Jia opened her mouth to speak but her phone went off at this moment. She put down the book in her hand before answering the call when she saw that it was from her elder brother.

"Br.." The words got stuck in her mouth as Mo Yuhan spoke up and she was stunned when she heard what he said. 

"Okay," she said and Mo Yuhan hung up the call and suddenly Mo Jia felt warmth somewhere in her heart.

'No matter what happens, pull yourself together. Remember that you have me and Mo Family to back you up,' It was rare for her brother to be so expressive and say such words to her. Her lips slightly curled up in a soft smile.

Not noticing her expressions, Mo Zihan and Ying Yue were looking at the book that she was reading earlier. 

"Heart conditions and diseases?" Mo Zihan read out aloud the title snapping his sister out of her daze.

He shook her shoulder as he yelled, "Mo Jia, how dare you hide something so big from me? Are you sick? Is it some incurable disease? You... How could it be..? You are the best doc.."

"Enough," Mo Jia felt like her head would split apart because of his ramblings, "I'm perfectly healthy," she said.

"Then why are you reading this?" It was Ying Yue who asked this question to which Mo Zihan bobbed his head up and down.

"I am a doctor so there is nothing wrong with me reading these books," Mo Jia sighed. It was not like she did not know about the heart conditions and all. Everything that was written in the book was not something new to her. "I was just not feeling well at that time so I thought I would look up in this book to check if there is some condition or disease that I'm unaware of," She softly murmured.

Ying Yue frowned. Did not feel well and started heart research? What kind of logic is that?

"Where did you not feel well?" Mo Zihan could sense where this was going.

"Heart," Mo Jia answered.

"What were you feeling?" He asked again to which she blinked. What had she been feeling exactly?

"Sometimes it skips a beat, sometimes races even while I'm not working out.." She was in a daze as she spoke, "And today, it ached. It was a bit painful," Her reply was honest.

"Why did you come to meet me at the company? What happened back then?" He wanted to get to the bottom of the matter as to what exactly was going on with his sister.

Mo Jia blinked as she pointed her chin towards her bodyguard, "He will explain."

Ying Yue was initially bothered if she should leave or not since it seemed like something personal but when she tried to get up, Mo Zihan glared at her. He had an expression that said 'Try to leave and I will bite you to death'.

So, she just silently sat back on the couch, pretending to be a part of the backdrop while Nian Zhen explained the whole incident that took place in the afternoon from the very beginning to the end.

Mo Zihan's face darkened the more he got to know about it. Unlike Mo Yuhan, he was not that close to Tang Yichen so he did not have the kind of person that he was. He just knew that the man doted on his sister and treated her well and other than that, he was Tang Li's elder brother and that made him trust him even more regarding his sister.

He inhaled a deep breath trying to calm his mind. Maybe, the situation was not what it seemed to be.

But then again, why would a man like him take a woman to 'ob-gyn' dept. considering the woman was not his relative but a secretary that was rumored to be his woman?

Why would the nurse lie to Mo Jia? What reason could she possibly have?

He did not connect all this to Tang Yichen's secretary because he did not have an inkling of what kind of person she was but then again, who knows if she had anything to do with it?

On the other hand, Ying Yue did not seem to be that confused about this matter as her face darkened the more she heard.
