Chapter 79 Eager Fighters
Chapter 79 Eager Fighters
Achara struggled to look her old friend, Nora, in the eye and had wanted to talk to her, but hearing that she wanted to join them, she sternly refused, not wanting her to have to struggle or endure what she was sure they would have to in the future.
? Then, questioning the rest of the capable fighters that hoarded around them, Achara asked, "Who said we had a group for you all to join?"
-
Nora, seeing how much Achara had improved, despite the hatred she inevitably felt in her heart, wanted a piece of the pie for herself and wanted to also be able to grow.
And the only explanation she could find for Achara's sudden growth was the people around her.
From what she knew, Achara was always alone, even when she was in the fight club as the Unstoppable Killer.
But now she was always with that masked, blue-eyed fellow who had a fiery gaze that made it hard to look into his eyes.
And wanting to become stronger to be able to provide for her family that had lost its previous provider, and also seeking to one day be able to get revenge, she was willing to put aside her hatred temporarily.
However, she never expected to be so quickly turned down by none other than the one that killed her brother and left her with no choice but to fight in the fight club.
And she was so shocked by Achara's sudden shut down that she froze and didn't know what to think, do or say.
Meanwhile, the other fighters answered Achara's direct question.
-
Responding to Achara, a few of the fighters spoke for the small group and did so surprisingly respectfully, considering that they were also capable fighters.
"It just seemed that way, and we want to grow stronger and climb the rankings with you all."
"Yeah, and we're all on the rankings and aren't in any fighter crew. And there are quite a few out there, but we thought maybe you guys had one."
'Fighter crew?'
Xavier and his companions had never heard of fighter crews before, but it would be a good cover for gathering so many fighters without drawing too much suspicion.
But the number of fighters that crowded around them surpassed Xavier's expectations greatly.
And he never expected fighters to start coming to them instead of them needing to scout them in the first place.
However, it seemed as though it was due to Connor, Achara and Sam, who had performed much better than he thought they could and had gained the respect of many, especially those that faced them.
And it wasn't only their skill that gained the admiration of the other fighters.
It was also their characters, which were shown through their combat, attitude, and actions.
At moments when they could have dealt their opponent fatal blows, the restraint they showed was one of the things they were most grateful for, and an opportunity to join them was what the fighters sought more than anything.
Which was understandable.
Seeing how the new fighters were dominating the fight club and climbing the rankings at an unbelievable pace, how could they not wish to join them?
But, whether or not they were worthy of joining them was the question...
-
Moving up the rankings was something that was hard to do over weeks, months and even years, and yet they had all climbed so high up the rankings in merely a few nights.
And it only took a single night for Connor and Xavier.
However, despite how easy they may have made it seem, climbing the rankings in the Wild Dog Fight Club was one of the most difficult things a fighter could do.
Fighters in the fight club were all naturally talented individuals, of whom most had trained most of their lives and would be very successful if they fought professionally.
But for one reason or another, they had to resort to fighting illegally.
And that's not to say fighting illegally was the easier option.
With no weight classes and barely any rules or protection during the fights, many died in them each year or suffered fatal injuries, so they were certainly brave.
But bravery only went so far and, seeking to join the meteoric rise of the 4 newcomers, the fighters that had fought against them and others that respected them highly flocked around them.
And amusingly, it was Xavier who had the lowest ranking out of the 4 of them, which led people to believe that Connor was their leader, especially with his stature.
However, Connor made it clear that he wasn't in charge of anything.
-
Telling the small group of fighters that it wasn't his choice whether or not they could join them, but that of the averagely sized individual in a hood, the fighters were surprised and began asking Xavier to join instead.
But Xavier himself wasn't sure about whether to accept them.
Remembering all of their fights and recognising their abilities, their combat capabilities made them worthy of joining.
But of course, he had to test them first and told them all to give him their phone numbers and that he would be in touch
That way, only he could contact them whenever he wished and could meet up with them all to gauge whether they would be a good addition to the Outlaw Gang.
And after collecting all of their numbers, apart from Nora's, they were about to leave in the blacked-out spacious car that the demonic five had prepared for them, but had one thing to do first.
-
Xavier and Achara went over to Nora, who had her fists clenched and didn't know what to do or think.
She felt like pouncing on Achara and ripping her into shreds, hating her even more after finding out that she was none other than the first she had regarded as a friend.
But she also wanted to join them to develop, and knew that with the three monsters with her and how skilled Achara was, she would merely get herself beaten up if she decided to attack them.
And the Wolf Gang forbade conflict between their fighters outside the fight club, so she was more wary of that, knowing what they were capable of and just how ruthless they could be.
However, when she saw Achara calmly approaching her with the blue-eyed youth, Nora couldn't control herself anymore and bolted over to her as she yelled wildly.
"You damned bitch! I'll kill you!"
