Chapter 82 Sudden Gathering
Chapter 82 Sudden Gathering
Sending all the fighters that had previously come up to them a message, Xavier kept it brief and gave them a location and a time, that was only an hour away, and told them all to be there if they were serious about joining him.
Getting them to drop everything and meet him in the middle of nowhere randomly was sudden, and he wasn't expecting all of them to show up, but those that did were clearly very eager.
It was the middle of the night and to meet an unknown individual that was dangerous in a remote location was absurd, but it showed their bravery and Xavier was surprised by how many of them showed up.
Almost all of those that had previously grouped around them outside of the fight club had arrived and promptly at that.
And observing them from a distance, Xavier couldn't help but nod his head in satisfaction.
They were all ambitious and pretty capable fighters already, and with some intense training and hard work, as well as the enhancement of the system, they would become forces to be reckoned with.
But he still had to make sure they were a right match for the gang and truly had what it took.
He was looking for members that could devote themselves and believed in what the Outlaw Gang could become.
Xavier foresaw it becoming an entity that could swallow up the entire criminal underworld and, in terms of power and wealth, be able to rival any other organisation internationally.
And although his ambitions were currently merely foolish ramblings, he truly believed that it was possible and even if he fell short, he wouldn't stop until he reached the peak of his abilities.
Drive.
It kept him going in the darkest of times, and thinking about how much his mother struggled and how much he could accomplish if he truly became the greatest gangster, he was willing to put all he had on the line and make sure everything worked out.
And as he recruited more and more people, he had greater responsibility to make his ambitions a reality, but Xavier wasn't shying away from it.
Revealing himself to the group that was standing in the centre of a small park on the edge of town, they were surprised to see that he was so close to where they were grouped up.
He had been sitting in a nearby tree watching over them and observing their body language and listening to what they spoke about between themselves for a few minutes, before jumping down off the branch he was on.
"I'm glad you all made it despite the short notice and I will keep it brief," he said after landing gracefully and walking over to them.
They were surprised at first, and were amazed by the fact he was only a few metres away from them and yet they hadn't seen or sensed him, but quickly regained composure and were also clearly on edge.
For them to be meeting in such a desolate area in the middle of the night, they had their suspicions and were also confused as to why joining a fighter group had to be so secretive.
But when they heard his next words, it all started to make sense.
"A gang. That's what we are and what we are forming. If you are not ready for that or willing to join that, then please turn back immediately and head home. If not, then we can talk," he stated bluntly.
There were about a dozen fighters there, and despite what he said, most of them didn't even flinch or seem bothered in the slightest.
Giving them a moment to make up their minds, seeing that none of them had left, he nodded his head and continued, "I will be speaking to each of you one to one for a minute, then I'll make my decision."
Considering that the Outlaw Gang was yet to even establish themselves, it was amazing how they were being sought after, but Xavier knew that he had to be selective.
So far, it was evident that he had been lucky and had stumbled upon loyal members that had also become his friends, but he knew that it wouldn't always be like that, and being in a gang was dangerous.
It wasn't all fun and games, despite it seeming that way when he was in the dojo with the others.
They would have to put their life on the line in conflicts and, for that reason, he sought fighters who had the experience of fighting against another capable combatant in front of thousands of others.
And it wasn't just their combat experience that he sought, but their ability to be able to remain calm under pressure and fight for what they desired.
Nobody that was sane would fight in the underground fight club for fun, and they either sought to become a better fighter, earn money or become famous.
But even then, there are legal ways of doing so.
And becoming a successful professional fighter is arguably much easier and safer than becoming a top ranker in the Wild Dog Fight Club.
So it was likely desperation and lack of opportunity that led them there.
Banking on that being the case, Xavier wanted to be the one to provide them with an opportunity to change their lives for the better, and began calling them one by one to have a short conversation with each of them.
Not knowing their names, he pointed at one of them and signalled them over, and took them just far enough so that they couldn't be heard and barely seen by the others.
Speaking briefly with each of them about their personal situation and also getting their names and getting a better understanding of each of their lives, Xavier was reminded once again that everybody had their own struggles.
He wanted to find out what drove each of them and, just like he had his mother, many of them fought for the livelihood of their friends and family, or had other far-fetched dreams.
And surprisingly, the fighters found it easy to open up and speak truthfully to the masked man, all showing how keen they were to become a part of whatever Xavier, and the other three capable fighters they had witnessed, had formed.
The growth, skill and tenacity that Xavier and his crew had shown in the Wild Dog Fight Club so far was heaven-defying, and if they were able to replicate even a percentage of it, they would be satisfied.
It was to the point that, despite refusing to join the Wolf Gang, when it came to the Outlaw Gang, they were more than willing to join.
And all they could do was speak their truth to Xavier and hope it was enough.
-
With his intimidating glare and presence, even though some of the fighters were physically larger than him, before him they all became docile and spoke respectfully.
He questioned them directly and firmly, and could tell that they were all telling the truth through his Gangster Instincts, while also making sure to get the full truth out of all of them.
And it didn't take long for Xavier to speak to them all, which after he did, got him excited to test them further.
-
Standing before Xavier after he had conversed with each of them individually, they were unsure what he had in store for them next and whether their heartfelt stories were enough to get them a chance to join.
But never in their wildest dreams did they expect Xavier to do what he did next...
