Gangster System: I Will Become The Greatest Gangster!

Chapter 91 Change

Chapter 91 Change

Heading over to Xavier's home, Connor was deep in thought as he walked, but as soon as he arrived, he wiped the serious look off his face and put on a warm smile.

Learning from his young boss, it was important he showed his sisters and Xavier's mother only the good in life and never any of his worries.

That was his responsibility as their carer and someone that cherished them dearly.

Carefully opening the door with the keys that Xavier had given him, Connor was expecting them to still be asleep as it was quite early but was surprised to find them eating breakfast.

Hearing someone open the door, Xavier's mother jumped up thinking her son had shown up after not seeing him for a while and missing him, but instead, she saw the tank of a man that was the older brother of the triplets she had been taking care of.

"Oh, good morning Connor. Come in and join us," she said, trying to hide her disappointment.

"Thanks, but I've already eaten."

Taking off his shoes and joining them anyway, he couldn't help but smile as he watched his three energetic sisters eat up all that Xavier's mother had prepared.

"Are you just going to sit there without speaking? Where's big bro Xavier?" the triplets questioned.

"Xavier is busy with work and..."

"Busy with work?" Danielle asked.

"What could possibly be so important that he doesn't even come to see his mother, auntie Maria?" Michelle continued.

"And does he even know how much his mother worries about him?" Rachelle added.

'Maria? So that's Xavier's mother's name. It suits her. I should probably call her auntie Maria as well,' Connor thought to himself before thinking about how to answer his little sisters' series of questions.

However, it seemed as though he didn't have to.

"That's enough. Xavier's the best kid I could have ever asked for and it would be selfish of me to make demands. Knowing him, he's probably doing all he can and taking it upon himself to do everything."

"If there's one thing that I am sure about when it comes to Xavier, it's that he cares about those around him and although it's hard for him to open up, even with me, I know his heart is pure," she continued.

Tears started welling up in her eyes as she spoke about the son she loved so much before she added, "He's already been through so much and keeps on going and has never let me down. So I've learnt to never doubt him."

Wiping her eyes she smiled, "And that's why you three should also be grateful for your brother. He works and takes care of you despite being so young, and if he's friends with Xavier, I know he's a great individual."

The atmosphere changed and became very emotional, but Connor sat there with the same smile on his face and he didn't show anything he was feeling or thinking.

It was important that in their eyes, life was bliss, and he wanted his sisters to grow up happy and be able to focus on their studies.

But he couldn't help but be curious about what exactly she meant when she said that Xavier had been through so much.

Everything she had said about her son was the same as what he was growing to realise about Xavier, and it merely made Connor respect him more and want to ease the burden on his shoulders.

However, at that moment in time, it was his responsibility to make sure everyone was relaxed and happy before he left to start working.

If he didn't, there would always be some worry lingering in the back of his mind.

"How does going shopping sound? We can get groceries and some art things for you three. I'll even prepare dinner for the four of you to enjoy."

"Does that mean you're going to leave us with auntie Maria again?" they asked.

Connor shamelessly looked over to Xavier's mother to see if she was okay with it, and after she smiled at him, he answered, "Yes. Your brother is also busy with some things."

"Really?! Wooohooo!"

The three hyper girls started celebrating and jumping around before being scolded by Maria, who told them to sit still.

"Connor, just think of this place as a second home for the four of you and you'll always be welcome here. Xavier has never really gotten close to anybody and so far you seem to be the closest thing he has ever had to a peer, so in my eyes, you are like a second son to me. So from now on don't even ask if your sisters can stay."

"Thanks, I appreciate that. But while we're on the topic of taking care of my sisters..."

"School?"

"Yes, Xavier and I can probably take them to school and pick them up at times but we can get quite busy and..."

"Don't worry about it. I can deal with all of it. Just tell me the times they need to get to school and what time for me to pick them up. I'll also need their uniforms and what school do they even go to?"

Connor smiled and seeing how eager Xavier's mother was to take care of his sisters, she truly was like their mother.

He then went on to inform her of everything she needed to know and even handed her a spare key to his home.

"I've told you where I live, so just treat that as your second home and just take what you want from there. These three are a handful and there's a bit more space there, so sleeping there sometimes would be easier for the four of you."

"What about you and Xavier?"

"We'll just sleep wherever we find space, and we slept at mine last night. I didn't think he would snore so much," he laughed, but she showed concern.

"Just don't overwork yourselves."

"Don't worry about us and let's get out of here and get some fresh air."

The mood was very serious and it was time to bring back the jovial sensation that was there before he showed up.

He knew just how smart his little sisters were and they were sensitive to everything that happened around them, so it was for the best for them to be around Maria for the most part.

And with that in mind, within a few hours, he was already gone and the four of them were alone once again, enjoying each other's company.

-

Connor had taken them to buy whatever groceries they needed and also got his little sisters some art supplies so that they didn't get bored.

He also showed Maria where they lived and told her to feel free to stay there, which they ended up doing since the triplets seemed to want her to stay with them there for once.

And after he was sure that they were comfortable and happy, he prepared to set off after doing a few things.

Cooking them a large healthy but tasty meal for dinner, Maria was surprised by just how well the giant man could cook and was eager to give it a try.

Connor also left them some money on the table for anything they might need before bidding them farewell and heading straight to the dojo.

-

With Maria reassuring him that she would take care of his sisters as if they were her own daughters, and seeing that she was also doing well, Connor could start training and working without any worries.

But as soon as he left, his sisters and Maria couldn't help but talk about how different he had become.

-

Rachele couldn't resist mentioning, "He seems to have changed a lot hasn't he?"

Her two other siblings as well as their carer, who were drawing with the art supplies Connor had purchased, nodded their heads in agreement.

"It's not his appearance," Danielle commented.

"And it isn't his size or height," Michelle added.

"It's his aura that has changed," Maria stated.

"Aura?!"

"Yeah, like the feeling he gives off. He seems much more confident and the way he acts reminds me of Xavier. It seems as though my crazy son is rubbing off on others," she explained.

"Now that you mention it..."

They could see the similarities and kind of understood what she meant by his aura, but they didn't really care about what was the cause behind the change.

The triplets were just glad that their brother seemed to be doing well and had found something to pursue, whatever it was.

Not long ago he was merely a robot, spending all of his time working and taking care of them, never once taking the time to even think about what he wanted to do with himself.

And they could tell that although he acted happy around them, he was merely hiding his feelings, which he had done ever since his parents passed away.

He didn't even cry at their father's funeral, unwilling to let his sisters see the weak side of him.

But now he seemed to be doing well and Xavier had helped him to find himself, which they were happy about.

Little did they know what he was pursuing was to become one of the executives of the gang that aimed to become the greatest in the world.
