Chapter 247 The Emperor Knows!
Chapter 247 The Emperor Knows!
*Woosh!*
Looking at the dead body lying in front of him, Yuan Ming did not spare it another glance but turned to run in the direction of the third person. However, what he did not notice was that the body of the person he killed first was nowhere to be seen, as if it disappeared without a trace.
The second body, belonging to the leader, also started to tremble weirdly and uncontrollably.
But Yuan Ming did not have time to notice any of that as he was running in the other direction to help the prince, who was still engaging with the mysterious cloaked person with his life on the line.
*Clang!*
The sparks from their collision flew in the air before the two backed away. The cloaked person seemed fine, but the prince was out of breath.
"Looks like the mission failed." As if he noticed Yuan Ming running in his direction, the last of the three masked persons raised his hands and stabbed himself with the same dagger he was using to fight the prince.
*Stab!*
"May the Red Dawn be witnessed by everyone!" Leaving those words behind, the corpse of the person fell to the ground.
"What happened?" Arriving near the prince, Yuan Ming looked at the body in confusion. Even though he was also at the second level of the Foundation Establishment stage, the guy should have at least put up a fight and not killed himself like that.
"Looks like things are more complicated than I thought." The prince did not look in Yuan Ming's direction but walked towards him while muttering. He reached out to pull the mask off the body's face.
*Fuaah!*
Before he could touch the mask, the body started to tremble, scaring the prince and causing him to back away. Under the astonished eyes of both present, the body started burning itself out of nowhere, and it kept on burning until not even the ashes were left behind. Yuan Ming hurriedly turned to look at the other bodies and found out that there was no trace of anyone besides them left in the area.
"Thanks for your help; had it not been for you, I would have died." The prince came out of his shock first and composed himself before looking at Yuan Ming. "I am Tian Heng!"
"I am Yuan Ming, a wandering cultivator." Since the destruction of the Soaring Heaven Sect, he had decided to sever all ties with the sect, and he was also no longer wearing the sect uniform.
"Is there-"
"Squeak!"
Before the prince could finish his words, a head poked out from Yuan Ming's robes and caught his attention.
"This is…?"
"She is Hei Guina… she is my little companion." Seeing the light in Tian Heng's eyes, Yuan Ming hurriedly explained and clarified that she was closer to him than he thought.
"You are really fortunate to have a Foundation Establishment beast as your companion. She must have been with you since she was young."
"Yes, yes." Yuan Ming agreed without any hesitation since no one was there to confirm or deny his words. He was now very far away from the Golden Edge City.
"If you don't mind me asking, can you tell me what you are doing at the edge of the Wild Forest?" Even though he could see the earnest expression on Tian Heng's face, Yuan Ming chose not to believe in the person and made up a lie on the spot.
"I was looking for a way to the royal capital and got lost on the way there. I am bad with directions." He scratched the back of his head in embarrassment and mixed some truth in his lies so that the person in front of him would not notice anything strange.
"Well, if you are going to the capital city, I can give you a ride."
"Are you sure?! That would be very helpful, Your Highness!"
Tian Heng did not say anything and waved his hand, leading Yuan Ming out of the forest.

In the middle of the capital city of the Tian Ren Empire, a huge mansion made of the most luxurious metals and objects stood erect, catching the attention of passersby from time to time.
This was the Royal Palace, the place where the emperor of the Tian Ren Empire lived with his family.
Just like on other days, the atmosphere in the throne room was solemn as the king looked at his advisors with a serious look on his face.
"Are you serious about this decision, Your Majesty?"
"Are you doubting my judgment, Minister Xu?" Sitting on the golden throne, a middle-aged man donned in golden robes with dragon patterns looked at the same person who spoke with a cold look in his eyes.
"I did not mean that, Your Majesty!" Seeing the look, the minister hurriedly bowed for forgiveness.
"I am just thinking if we support the Wild Serpent Sect from the shadows, they might think that we are weak and need their help soon."
"I know what you are thinking; no need to explain it." The emperor waved his hand with a bored look on his face and added, "We are only supporting them temporarily so that they can keep the Frozen Heart Sect in check. For someone with no desires
and emotion, they sure are pretty ambitious."
The look of respect and fear in the eyes of the advisors and ministers present was enough to tell that they were impressed by the thinking of their emperor.
"Did you find anything about the people who were responsible for the disappearance of the Soaring Heaven Sect and also four clans of my empire?"
"Your majesty, it seems this is related to the Eternal Jade Guild…." All the ministers looked at each other before one of them came forward and started explaining what he found.
"These two… any more information about them?"
"No, Your Majesty. Even the City Lord said that he had never seen the two of them after the day they participated in the domain. It has been three months since the destruction of the sect; I think they have left the empire by now."
'Had we known about the domain, the third prince would have been a good choice to enter this place. With his age, he was qualified too. He broke through too soon.' The advisor of the emperor who stood closest to him sent a thought transmission, and the emperor also agreed to his words.
"I wonder where these two went. I could use them to get closer to the Eternal Jade Guild…" The emperor sighed out in regret and shifted his attention to the guard who was entering the hall with haste.
"What's the matter?"
"The third prince has returned and requests an audience. He says it's urgent!" The guard knelt on the ground on one of his knees and addressed the emperor.
"Hmm… call him. You all do what I told you to do and contact the Wild Serpent Sect, but do it discreetly. I don't want Huang Meiying to know about this." Hearing the orders, everyone left the hall, leaving the emperor alone with his advisor.
"Did you find out what happened to the Bloody Fang Gang that my first son was supplying?"
"They were killed by the same pair as well. I found the information about them, but I still cannot understand why and how someone from the main branch would favor them." While saying this, the advisor passed a scroll containing all the information about Xin Yan and Long Tian from the time she met Long Yang.
"There is obviously something missing here, and this has either something to do with this woman's past or the boy somehow managed to woo that woman." The emperor laughed at his ridiculous thoughts before adding, "Did you make sure no one else gets this information?"
"I myself got this information from the people who had seen them living in the place they bought, and now they are not there. I also made sure to tie up all the loose ends." The advisor calmly explained how well he did his job, which did not amaze the emperor, but it also did not stop him from praising him as well.
"I wonder where this pair of mother and son are…."

"This is it…" With a focused look in his black eyes, a raven-haired boy looked straight ahead as if he was making the most important decision of his life.
"You sure you want to do that?" In front of him, a green-haired elf looked at him with a teary look in her eyes. The desperate expression on her face would have caused many hearts to fail had it not been for the fact that only the boy in front of her could see her.
Elysia looked down at something at her breast level before looking back into the boy's eyes. The look in her eyes changed instantly as if all of her previous begging expressions had never even been there in the first place.
She moved her hand upwards before grabbing a hold of something and suddenly exclaiming.
"Check and mate!"
Noah looked down at the chessboard for a second before looking back into her eyes. All this time, his expression did not change a bit. He opened his mouth only to bring the woman the news she would have never imagined to hear.
"Since when was killing your own king be considered as winning the game."
His words caused to woman to recheck the board and to her shock, she had sued Noah's pieces to checkmate herself.
"No!!!" In her anger, Elysia smacked the makeshift chess board with her hands only for it to collide and hit someone else's.
" You are having fun?" the cold voice coming from that direction, she threw the chess in causing Elysia to freeze.
"You are coming with me~" Without waiting for her to react, Xin Yan pulled her by her robes and took her towards a beautiful-looking house built with wood.
Noah ignored their antics and turned around to look at the familiar yet now different place they were living at the moment. The place where he performed a massacre three months ago was now transformed into a paradise. His eyes stopped at the only broken thing in the place.
It was the entrance gate with three words inscribed on it.
"Soaring Heaven Sect!"
