Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 302: Nexus Shelter

Chapter 302: Nexus Shelter

Shane wryly smiled at the young man's answer, as he already knew this much.

However, the fact that no one wants to buy this probably means that the egg wasn't that great.

"How much for the egg?" He asked.

The kid knew very well that this egg was difficult to sell. Nonetheless, he had already confirmed from the Foreign Survivors that this was a real Pet Egg, but it had a very high requirement to hatch.

Those who didn't have much money wouldn't think of buying this, but he knew that if he found a wealthy person interested in obtaining Pets, he could get rich because of it.

The boy hesitated, glancing around nervously. "I… I don't really know. I was hoping to trade it for something useful. But I'm thinking of buying a weapon to protect myself. A sword is sold for about 20 Zombies Cores, while a gun was sold for 50… So how about 70 Zombies Cores?"

Shane considered the offer as this was indeed pricey. However, the Marketplace sells them for 100 Zombies Cores and above, so it wasn't that bad.

To be honest, he still has a Mystery Egg that he looted from a Spitter Monster Zombie. He just hasn't hatched it yet since he felt that he had no need for a pet yet.

However, tomorrow, he could already enter his Fairy Realm, so he might as well hatch 2 Pet Eggs and train them inside with Axis' help.

Shane then reached out for his Inventory. Then, he gave the 70 cores and asked, "Will this do?"

The boy's eyes widened. "Yes, sir! Thank you, sir!"

Shane handed over the cores and took the egg, feeling its warmth against his palms. He could sense a faint heartbeat on it.

He nodded to the boy and turned to leave, the egg cradled carefully in his arms.

[ Unhatched Pet Egg ( Rare ):

Description: A glossy black egg adorned with swirling patterns of black roots, emanating a gentle warmth.

Requirements: 100 Zombie Cores, 5 Power Cores, and 3 units of Polymorphium Metal to awaken the dormant creature within.

Potential: Summons a mysterious and otherworldly pet that has an unknown special ability. ]

It was no wonder that no one was buying this egg. Zombie Cores weren't easy to obtain as you need to kill three or more just to get one, depending on your luck.

Furthermore, the Power Cores were also difficult to acquire and had plenty of other uses that were much more important than hatching an egg.

Finally, there was a Polymorphium Metal, which was incredibly difficult to obtain. He was lucky that he obtained 10 of them recently from the Golden Treasure Chest.

Many Survivors probably don't even know that such a metal exists.

Anyway, Shane decided to continue looking around after this.

Shane wandered through the bustling Marketplace as he confirmed that most of the Survivors here had at least Tier 2 Clothes and weapons that were at least Rare Grade.

Soon, he reached an area where there was a thick scent of grilled meat and the chatter of survivors haggling over goods.

As he turned a corner, a wooden sign caught his eye: "The Last Drop Pub". Intrigued, he decided to step inside.

The pub was dimly lit, with rough-hewn tables and benches scattered around. A few patrons were having their drinks while their faces were shadowed by the flickering candlelight.

This pub doesn't have a Light Orb but they have several candlelights around.

Behind the bar, a burly man with a grizzled beard polished a glass, his eyes narrowed as Shane approached. Obviously, he didn't recognize Shane, so he felt a bit curious.

"Welcome," the bartender grunted. "What'll it be?"

Shane glanced at the menu scrawled on a chalkboard. The prices were listed in Nexus Coins, a currency he didn't possess. It seemed that this Clan was truly ahead compared to his Clan.

'They even made a currency of their own… I wonder how it works.' Shane mused.

Anyway, he noticed that beneath the list, a note caught his attention: "1 Zombie Core for a bottle of house brew."

"I'll take a bottle of your house brew," Shane said, handing over a Zombie Core.

He wanted to do this simply to compare the ones brewed by Bart and the ones being sold here. After all, if they would soon enter the market with Bart's alcohol, he should be aware of their possible competition.

The bartender nodded, retrieving a dusty bottle from a shelf. He uncorked it with a practiced twist and handed it to Shane. "Enjoy."

Shane took a mouthful and immediately regretted it.

'Urgh…'

The alcohol burned his throat, leaving a bitter aftertaste. It was nothing compared to the smooth, rich brews crafted by Bart back at his shelter. He grimaced, setting the bottle down.

The bartender's eyes narrowed. "Did you not like it?" he asked, his tone edged with irritation. Everyone in the Shelter liked his drink.

Shane met his challenging gaze and chose his words carefully. He didn't want to cause a scene here.

"It's… different from what I'm used to." He replied.

The bartender's frown deepened. "Different, huh? This should be the best one, and I haven't heard anyone other than us selling these."

"Ahh… I just happened to loot one." Shane just said as he didn't want to stay with the topic.

He wanted to finish the drink but couldn't, so he just left the pub without any more words…

'We're going to get rich if we started selling Bart's alcohol… With how good it was, we could probably sell it for 20 Zombie Cores per bottle.' Shane thought with a smile as he left the pub.

On the other hand, seeing that Shane barely consumed the 1 Zombie Core bottle, the manager's eyes turned cold.

As soon as Shane closed the door, the manager spoke. "Follow that person…"

***

Outside, Shane no longer found anything interesting, so after a while, he returned to their rented room.

Lysandra was already there waiting for him with some hot skewers from unknown meat.
